hello all I have a 2004 280 pro and i am sometimes having difficulty starting it, from hot and cold. anyone else had similar problem and how did you resolve it? carb/filter is clean and plug is gapped to gasgas reccomendations.

Hi all. I'm a mid Inter rider in the South, that means mud not rocks. I am looking to buy a 2005 Gas Gas in the next couple of months but am not sure which one. 250, 280 or 300. I currently ride a 270 Beta but my marks go up as the going gets slimy. I am going to test both the 280 and 300 but wondered what you though ???

I have a question about my front end of my TXT200 trials bike. I noticed that it is very "springy" for lack of better words, and no matter how much I adjust the compression damping or rebound, to no avail does it reduce the "springiness" of the forks. The only work I've done to the front end is replace the seals and dust caps. I'm wondering if the adjusting cap which threads onto the adjuster top return rod (runs inside the spring) could be tightened down too much? Nothing else has been adjusted, spacers are stock ect. Same amount of fork oil, and same viscosity. I noticed that the cap threads into the rod and then intot eh fork tube up top. Perhaps I can back off…

Anyone got any tips to stop water getting in my 05 Pro air box

What are those gas gas txt 50 boys like? They look a funny creation to me, is the engine based ont he PRO or the TXT? Would they be alright for an 8 year old girl just starting out do you think? (my sister wants to start riding) And how long would it be before it needed replacing with somethig a bit more... technical. No doubt it would be better than an old twinshock ty80...? Only 2 speed, not automatic i am guessing and are the levers and pegs in the same place as the big bikes. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Richard

Been having touble with my 200 TXT 02. It starts fine 1st or 2nd kick with a bit of choke. Choke off then let it warm up a bit then rides around at slow speeds fine ! However when I go for a bit of a climb the and open it up it has just not responded at the top end. Twice now the bike has stopped short on a climb due to 'Choking off' and nearly killed me through having to jump off or roll backwards down the hill ! I dont know if the top end has been done at all since new and I will be checking the reeds whilst the carb is off. can anyone help i am about to strip my sons 125 pro (03) to have a look at porting etc see if i can give it a bit more power (he is a big 14 year old), has anyone any experience of what works best, also does anyone know where to get reeds for pro, boyesen for example and do they make any noticeable difference, i was also thinking of putting some in my 05 300. thanks jeff

does anyone know any prices for a gasgas txt 2001 fuel tank as i have recently put a bad dent into it and would like to buy a new one if i could??

Just doing my seals on an 03 Pro. I have seen a few people with different 'dust seal' rather than just the stock part fitted, the part I'm after is the one with the circular spring that keeps the tension on the dust seal against the slider, hopefully to be more efficient than the stock part that seems to loose its seal after a while Any ideas on what it's from ?

Are the rear springs on colour coded? I'm a big bloke and i'm thinking about replacing the spring on mine with something a bit more heafty. Any sugestions? And don't say loose weight !!! thats why i'm doing this

I've seen a number of 03 Pros for sale that state 04 Clutch mod fitted. Having studied the two parts manuals I can only see that the plates (steel and friction ) are a different part number and there's a pair of roller bearings used instead of a bush in the centre of the basket onto the gearbox shaft. Is this the mod ? As I was planning to get the cover off to check the measurements of the clutch pack, is it worth looking at the bearing replacement and plates while I'm at it. My clutch is heavy and seems to drag a bit. (probably due to the oil not being replaced for some time - the drain plug had to be 'easi outed'- and a lot of sludge on the magnetic pick-up) If its wo…

When is AJP? going to make the shorty lever for the 04 (and other similiar models, Im sure are the same) gasgas pro's? The clutch is different than the old ones, as there is no offset for the adjusting screw. the old brake levers still fit, but the clutch perches are different. I got to have shortys, my fingers are soo short.. LOL Anyone find out, be sure to let me know

Hello All, I just bought a very nice, low hour (20 or less hours)'03 300 Pro that is box stock except stiffer fork springs and fat bars. I've been riding a '04 Sherco 2.9 that I enjoyed very much, but when I decided to get a second bike I had to try a Gas Gas. From the moment I got on it the bike felt very comfortable... light but planted with easy predictable turning. Unfortunately, all the ledge at my house is covered with 12" of snow, so my impressions are limited to doing figure eights on an iced covered driveway. I've just bought myself a JTX and it has some kind of digital readout mounted in the fuel tank. What is it and how do I use it? Anyone have an instruction manual for one of these I could borrow?

My son who is 13 (14 in Sept) rides a JT25 - 250cc Will he fall foul of the rule changes re: youth trials? If so how easy is it to modify his current bike to a 125cc ? and at what cost ?

as my plans for a new bike have been curtailed (ask the wife !!) i am thinking of revamping my '03 250 pro , i once saw a firm at dirt bike expo dont know which year , that possibly "painted " wheel rims has anyone heard of this before / has done it, was it succesfull . also refinishing of manky engine casings whats the best way , engine tuning , what if any is the best way to soften the power (clubman B use) flywheel weights / keihein carb / thick head gasket etc whats your expeireince (sp?)

is it possible to take the crack off the exhaust note? im trying to be as discreet as possible where i ride especially because of all the trouble with noise pollution has anyone else found the std bars to small (im 6 foot tall) and if so what size have you replaced them with? and last but not least how do you stop water getting into the air box through the flap at the bottom but still allow water to drain out? (why cant manufacturers design bikes for all seasons and sizes we cant all be 4' 6" and live in spain!)

Has anybody got any experience of Powder coating Alloy rims ? I'm thinking of black anodising but a mate did it and we found that it really showed up even the tinyest of dinks on the rims. Just a bit concerned that the 200 degrees temp that needed to cure the powder coatin may distort the unspoked rim ? I know that hubs can be done but they are a more solid structure.

Got what is supposed to be a 96 gasgas 160, frame more resembles the 94 if you look at the GG museum though. Anywho, wondering where to get the pipe guard for this old thing, all I see listed is for the newer bikes and the pipe out of the head doesnt have quite the bend the new ones have. any suggestions?
