my 95 250 contact is fitted with a rear brake pedal that i'm finding difficult to find sometimes! its the 'older' flat, solid style, with serrations on the top of it. not only do i miss it quite consistently(!), but due to it being ally, over the years, the serrations have lost their edge and the sole of my boot slips on it too. i have noticed on newer models, they have a 2-piece pedal. what i would call 'conventional', with the end piece sprung to move on its pivot axis. now... a. will this fit my bike? b. what bike(s) do i need one off? c. where do i get one? (BVM? or anyone got one? or know of one being broken for spares?) p.s. have …

Have been having a few problems with my bike since i got it a couple weeks ago. bike will run 100%, but then will not tick over, when you start it again, it dies, then will not evan try and fire up. replacing the plug cures it. until it feels peckish - and eats another plug! was leaving the plug really oily, so;- reset fuel screw to 3 1/2 turns out. reset timing to original marks (was very advanced - previous owner used it to follow his son around trials, so had it advanced for better top-end.) using silkolene comp2 premix - 60;1 today had same symptoms - but plug was not 'oiled-up', instead was black, and rather 'sooty'. any ideas on where to start trying to trac…

Been looking again at Andy's most excellent photo's of Sheffield, and noticed that Raga's bike doesn't look like it has the Ohlin shock fitted. http://www.trialscentral.com/user_photos/a...es/image146.htm I though that the Ohlin had a gold body and black spring, the shock on this bike looks more like the Sach colouring with the yellow spring. OK so Raga has access to all the factory bits and could quite easily have a yellow spring on the Ohlin, or have a tricked up Sachs. What I'd really like to know is what is the difference in performance between the two shocks available to Joe Public. Is the Ohlin really that much better than the Std one ? in what way is it better.

Does anyone know what thread the inside of the flywheel is on my 95 gasgas contact 250? need to get the flywheel off to adjust timing, and am hoping to make a flywheel puller to get it off. looks to be about 26-27mm, metric fine? left hand? YES! i know i could prob buy one for a tenner, but as well as being an engineer by trade, and therefore i enjoy making stuff i can use, i am also exceptionally tight!! can't get pitch gauges in to check cos of the crank any ideas anyone? (a yam/honda/suzuki one don't fit, that's LH thread, but dont know what size.) cheers! 77 views, and no-one got any ideas yet??!!!

Hi guys, I recently got an '01 txt 321 - my first trials bike. Awesome! I love this bike! I'm mostly trail riding at present, and am really impressed with the torquey engine and precise handling on tight hillclimbs. On the last ride, I lost all of my rear brake fluid out of the rear caliper - somewhere. The local shop said that since the bike had been sitting for a long time that the piston seal area could have gotten corroded, allowing fluid to leak past. I disassembled and re-assembled - everything looked fine. Now I'm trying to bleed the system (I've seen the recent thread). I have no firm action when pumping the brake pedal - and I see little bubbles coming o…

I have an 04 300 Pro. I was out last night and all of a sudden the bike died on me. I kicked it back to life easily but it ran for about a second and then died again. (I know what your thinking, fuel right?) Well I had plent of fuel so it wasn't that. It did sound like a fuel problem as every time I started it it ran for about a second then died again. This happened probably five time but on the sixth attempt it wouldn't start at all. I pushed the bike home (mostly down hill luckily) and put it away for the night. Tonight I've fully stripped and cleaned the carb and replaced the plug. It again started once but died after about a second again and wouldn't restart for a g…

Did something rather stupid. In stead of reading this forum i just assumed that the clutch system of my new gasgas was the same as a hydraulic system of the ktm. Since Ktm uses hydraulic oil in their system i did the same with the gasgas after that i cleaned it. It worked rather nicely but i now realise that some rubbers cld get detoriate because of this oil type. Anyone have any experience in this field of mishaps? Do i need new rubbers from master till slave?

The snow has finally abated enough here in Vermont for the south facing ledge near my house to be rideable. I rode an '04 Sherco 2.9 last season, but picked up a nearly new '03 300 Pro from someone. After riding them back to back on my sections I am very impressed with the 300. I am sure the Sherco is great for some people, but after riding them back-to-back I was amazed how much better the Gas Gas worked for me. On a bike that I had never ridden before, I was able to ride everything I could clean on my Sherco. The suspension seems substantially better, I can balance on it better at a standstill and while moving, and it seems to turn tighter. I don't know why it rides so…

This is my first Gas Gas- 2000 200TXT. Whats up with the hoseclamps? Do I cut them off or are they reusable? Where is the radiator fluid drainhole? Where is the tranny oil drainhole? Where is the tranny fluid fill hole? I know these are dumb questions but you wouldnt have to ask these questions on any Jap bike. The video does not cover this.

I'm trying to remove the engine from my tx125 but none of the sockets I have will fit the swinging arm nuts. The one that goes right through the back of the engine. What do you use to undo these nuts?
