Ok, so I used the grease on the piston pin spacers and managed to get the piston installed. Many thanks. Id posted earlier this was for my 199 when in fact it was the 191. a little background: I found the 191 a couple years back and figured I'd take a chance. I hated the idea that it might end up in the scrap heap, so I grabbed it. When I got it, the bike didn't have a seat, exhaust, and a few smaller things. The head was sitting on the cylinder without nuts. The seller said the bike had no compression and when I popped the cylinder off I saw why- no rings! So, much time later and I'm working to get her back together as much as time and my health will …

Has anybody an Idea how this could happen?

Hi all just getting around to installing the new wiseco piston I got from In Motion for my 199 they were out of single needle bearings so they sent two smaller ones that fit fine. The spacers they sent are flat on one side and sort of dished on the other. I assume the flat sides go against the piston? While trying a dry run on the fitting, I found there isn't enough room to get both spacers in.What am I doing wrong? thank you for any suggestions.

Done a complete frame and engine strip down, the engine had new bearings throughout. only done 1139 miles from new so still on original Mahle piston. Found some old style waterslide decals instead of the new chunky vinyl types, bit of a bugger to put on. its like tissue paper. For the eagle eyed, got to put the exhaust spring on and the breather pipe for the primary case.

Hi ive had a problem with my sherpa,on the last trials the Kickstarter failed to return when kicking over,ive just replaced the return spring and put it back together,problem solved i thought,now when i start it theres a horrible ratcheting niose!!!if i force the Kickstarter foreard it seems to stop,does anyone have any ideas or come across this problem themselves? Hello all. I'm new to twinshocks and need some help. I have a Bultaco 325 which I think is a 1978. I'm going to change the clutch and change the oils. I've been told there is a clutch/primary oil and then a gearbox oil? Could anyone tell me what oil to use in both and how much it takes. Many thanks

I am thinking of trying some new fork springs to try and make the front suspension work on my 350 sherpa. I've looked at some Rockshock springs with the preload adjusters has anyone fitted these and what do you think? Many thanks

I've tried to remove the threaded studs from my front and rear brake back plates (that the torque arms bolt to) because I want to clean them up and get them re-plated. However they are absolutely solid and I couldn't get them to budge. Am I right in thinking that they will be threaded into the alloy back plates? Has anyone got any tips on how to remove them? Thanks!

Hello All, I rode my 350 sherpa last weekend and if started to p*** fuel out of the overflow on the carb. It didn't matter if it was running or not. I took the float bowl off and everything seem ok. It's never done this before and I would like to keep my Bing.

Hello all , A couple of questions for the gurus , I have a 199A that I am rebuilding , I was hoping for some help with parts that I need , and itit was a box of bits kind of purchase I am missing the two handlebar clamps any chance someone has a source for these ? Also my tank is a Sammy Miller aftermarket one and the cap Is missing it's an odd one its kind of like an old radiator cap it has half twist to lock action with ears catching the spout in the tank here's s pic Regards Bill

Hi, I have a M91 Sherpa which has the early style rear hub with a bolt on spoke flange on one side and a 140mm x 40mm hub on the other. Does anyone have a measurement of the offset for this type of wheel please? I have measured mine however the rim is massively buckled no wonder the tyre touches the chainguard, shocks and swingarm! Hi All, I am in the process of rebuilding the engine in my Bultaco Sherpa 350 (1976). At the moment the bore is STD although badly worn so thinking of taking it out to one under the maximum size (any thoughts) Also big end bearing, no noise and no up and down movement on the bearing, but there is a mile of sideways movement between the webs, is this normal? It will get rebuilt with all new bearings seal and gaskets etc, Any help thoughts or recommendations would be gratefully received.

Can anyone out there tell me what type of throttle (twistgrip) would have come on the first M10's that came out early 1965 (frame/mtr #117). When I bought the bike it had a plastic Amal look a like. As far as I can see in old period photos they appear to be an Amal with metal/chromed body (possibly #364-?) but there is no way to tell if they were original. Also does anyone have an original handle bar with the welded perches that could give me some of the measurements-height, width perch angle-? Thanks and Happy New Year

Hi guys, have recently acquired a 1974 sherpa t 350 in near original condition. The problem I have is starting. There is plenty of spark and after removing the plug and priming the cylinder with a small amount of fuel the engine will fire and run drawing fuel from the carburettor. It revs freely and does not break down. However the engine will not idle after being warmed up, on shutting down will not re-start. It appears to lack the initial fuel delivery to the cylinder to start. The carby is Amal Concentric disassembled and cleaned 3 times. I would appreciate any input to solve this problem. I’m currently renovating a 1979 325 Sherpa which has the small air box with the door on the side. I be heard a lot of negativetity over the years about them being to small. Would a later 199b be better? Will it fit? I intend to run a 26mm Mikuni on this bike. What do you guys use? Many thanks.

Was doing a bit of a clear out over the Christmas and New Year, basically making room for some ongoing projects. So amongst all the usual bits and pieces I unearthed my original Owners Manual from my very first Trials bike, my 199 Sherpa T. So I put it aside carefully and said I'll have a good at that later. So I'm leafing through it last night and what do I find only the original Certificate of Date of Sale, which I didn't know was even in it. As you can see the bike was originally sold in Oct 1977, I bought the bike from the original owner in 1979 and kept it until 1985, current whereabouts unknown. Hello all need a bit of advice. The aluminium tank on my 350 sherpa is making a rattle/banging Noise likes something in there. I've had a look down in there and it seems when the fuel sloshed front to back islts like a flap is banging. Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix or is it a new tank. Thanks
