Having trouble with my front brake I just can't get it to work, it has new shoes and a new cable. It looks like the the hub has already been sleeved. What I'm after is the diameter of the standard brake drum so I can check for wear, does anyone know it ?? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'd post a pic if I had one, but where could a guy get a hold of a couple of those fancy kickstarters that pivot at the base? My 191 is progressing and since I've spent a fortune so far, a little more won't matter.

Evening all. Riding the Frontera round the fields today, all was fine til I opened it up - good for a couple of hundred yards then it cut out. Started immediately. then good for another coupla hundred yards. Then cuts out again. If I pootle along the bike will go on forever. Felt like fuel starvation. Took the carb off and all looked good, felt like a sticky float valve but all looked good. Then... spotted a split in the 'rubber' manifold connector. Question: would this air leak give the symptoms? Would have thought the bike would rev up or cut out at low revs but ticks over smoothly forever. Thoughts?

Anyone any experience with modern fork internals for classic bikes. Thinking to get the HFS fork internals as I’ve put the OZO/Betor shocks on the rear and want to improve the front end. Are they worth while/money or put new springs in originals. At present they bottom out easily. Running 15w fork oil as recommended to me.

Hi all, I think I have got the rear spindle in wrong but not sure how to correct it.. Initially I put it together "spindle, snail cam, swinging arm, brake plate, wheel, speedo drive, spacer, swinging arm, snail cam, washer, nut. This was fine - chain runs centrally over the tensioner and rides ok but clearance between tyre and chain is very limited. so much so that fitting the Sammy Miller Chain guard will rub the tyre. So following the book I moved the spacer from the nut side to the "tommy bar" side. Bit more clearance but chain out of alignment. Can anyone give me the right reassembly order Am I missing any bits? It seems a bit odd there is not…

So, I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what parts from other models will fit and be correct on my M-151. I am hoping it’s not a one off model and that nothing besides that year will fit. I really don’t know how to date the frame either. I assume a part number list might help, but seeing as nobody lists parts for sale under the part number it doesn’t really help me. Long story short what year is my M151 and is there somewhere I can go to gather information that will provide me with parts interchangeably. Frame# JB-1510724 Thanks as always, Ron

Guys, I have a 340 with a set of well used Falcon aluminium shocks on the rear. I have had them 4 years and they came secondhand to me.They are due a service and possibly some heavier springs as they bottom out a lot, even though they are set properly. Now these are quality items, of that I have no doubt. But to have them serviced and new springs, it’s nearly as much as a set of new OZO Pro shocks. Other similar brands are available I should point out. The reality of the situation is that I ride for pleasure in the Veteran Black routes or 50/50, so I don’t really need top notch shocks. It has been mentioned that the standard length, eyelet to eyelet is 340m…

Hi all, I'm going to register my M158 so I can ride it to local bush land for practice, and hopefully get it ready in time for the Sydney Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride at the end of Sept. I'm in the process of getting the electrical parts together. I wonder if anyone knows, or could measure the diameter of the front headlamp? Would it be around 5"? Cheers

Hello all. I am starting a rolling refurb of recently purchased matching frame and engine number 199a.Its a bit rough and had frame painted white in past.No oil in clutch or gearbox!. I have replaced badly damaged front rim and chromed hub lining, new brake shoes, new fork seals ,tyre , springs and oil have sorted front end.I am looking for advice please as below. 1.Gearbox refilled with SAE 90, now leaking heavily from drive sprocket seal? or around this area i think! is this a big job to change, most likely point of leakage? 2.Speedo doesnt work, best way to troubleshoot? 3.Swingarm shock absorber mounting fixing cant release one upper allen key fi…

Going along with the theory that there's no such thing as a silly question, what is the bolt behind the seat loop on the Sherpa? Is it to secure some sort of a rear light?

First time poster and of course I have a few questions. I picked up 2 very rough Bultaco Sherpas. One is a Model 125 and is just a frame, the other is a Model 151 and is basically just a roller with engine. The Frames on these are quite different one has a cradle under the engine and bash plate, the other has just a bash plate and no cradle. Not sure if that is normal or not. Frame numbers are as follows: JB-12502105 JB-1500724 Engine Numbers: M-12502105 M-15100724 Lastly, where can I get parts? I have seen a couple US Bultaco suppliers as well as a couple overseas suppliers, but those are all new parts. Where do I go for used…

Hi All, I''ve almost completed the build of my M158, and took it for it's first spin today. We put the engine together fully expecting piston slap as the clearance was well over service limits and sure enough it sounds like it's got a bad case of it. It's going well enough, first time I've ridden a Sherpa 250, very different power to my old 350. It picks up quite nicely at higher revs when you give it the gas, and the engine is turbine smooth. Anyway, I just wanted confirmation on the piston slap diagnosis from the experts on here. Cheers

I'm trying to identify / gather information on this early model Bultaco aluminum slimline tank/seat. This tank is aluminum with an aluminum cap that hinges on one side. The tank has been repainted. Who made this tank? What would be the approximate year these were made and for what model Bultaco bikes (M10, M27, M49 ?) and approximate value. Thanks

Hi Lads, looking info from someone who has experience in these little bikes. I am trying to put it together for a friend who dismantled it years ago and put it into boxes with other bike bits that are not for this bike. I got a gasket set, no head gasket in it, does it need one?.How much oil in gear box, and where do you actually put it To be honest the only reason im building it is, it was the first Chispa made and has the matching 001 numbers. Any info on this little bike would be very much appreaciated, Many Thank's
