Hi, I am trying to find out what size jets to buy for an early cota 200. Are they the same as the ones listed for the mk2 carb fitted to the later ones? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone tried the 223cc mod on a Cota 200? Fit a 247 piston in a 200 barrel = 223cc.

Hello, I am new on this forum, I start restoration project on my Cota 123 from 1972. I know the paint is a kind of dove gray or silver but cannot fond more details. Does anyone got more information like maybe a color code? how did you guys did to get the right color?

Hello all, I bought a new 4rt european bike in feb already derestricted from the dealer. I like it really as it is my first 4st trials bike. A month or so ago a long time montesa driver told me, the idle was too high and he lowered it. The next time I drove it (week later or so) I wanted to drive a step down but it was too high and the engine protection plate had contact with a big stone and stopped my bike while I was still moving forward :-D The bike just fell to the side so not a big deal. But afterwards I had to kick about four or five times and it didn't run well and even sometimes stalled at low revs while driving. I believe it also has…

Does anyone have a spec, or known-to-work setting? .. I'm guessing the timing's set in mm of piston stroke BTDC, rather than degrees BTDC on a crank dial gauge? Thanks

Hi, Could I beg some advice regarding the Mikuni carb for an 81 Montesa cota 200. I have managed to pick up at an auto jumble here in France a new old stock Mikuni VM26 (other markings are 8074) Firstly the carb is bare and only has a slide (#2 I think) My questions are; 1. Is this the right carb body? 2. What jets would I need to suit the Mont? 3. Will it fit the existing rubber or will it need an adapter of some sort? I have sent a few emails outlining the problem to Allens Performance and they just dont respond which baffles me a bit as their website seems to suggest they are the experts, anyway I hope that someone can help as the old amal Mk2 thats…

Making very slow progress with this re-build. Now just getting to the point thinking about electrics. Assembled ign coil. Looks very close to the top of the exhaust. Is this right. Gap is about 10mm. Looks like something is going to melt ! Will just need to power the ign coil, and then a 6v horn, to get a 'day time' MOT. (Horn body is actually to one side of the exhaust, so a bigger gap than it looks). There are 5 coils on the magneto, black, white, green, yellow 2 coils. The wiring diagram shows black, green, yellow joined together (?), with an unmarked wire, presumably white, going to another unmarked part, again presumably the stop light switc…

Hi all, just started getting a really noisy exhaust on my 4RT, there's no leakage on the joint between the back box and front pipe just from the tail, I assume its going to be a new back box but just wondered if there's a fix, thanks in advance Simon

Hi, I rode my new (17) Montesa 260 RT for the first time at the weekend and really like it except that my fingers are not very good at releasing the clutch steadily. The pull is not hard at all but the spring power of the lever prevents me operating it smoothly. On my previous Beta, I removed a couple of springs from the clucth and that really helped. I know I should probably just get used to it but I thought it was worth just asking.

Just used my 1981white wonder 349 after a couple of months standing. After an hour of blatting about on a testing trial I noticed an oil leak, which seemed emulsified, from the plug below gear lever and then shortly after bubbling from clutch actuating arm where it goes into the engine case. What could be the cause? Is an engine strip/rebuild on the cards? I haven't touched the engine since I've owned it. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers. Neil

Hi all, just recently got a 247 21M and wanted to remove the cylinder so I can start the rebuild process, how do to I remove it? I read somewhere to put it in a furnace and it will pull away from the engine cases. Are there any other ways? Also does anyone know the paint code for the tank? thanks

Hi fitted a montesa cota 315r fan to my beta rev3 but which way should it spin it as arrows on it and is spinning that way .. when sat on the bike should it spin left or right ? Should I feel it blowing on to me or should it be blowing through the rad .. cheers for your help

Can anyone give me an idea if an early cota 123 engine will fit into a later cota 200 frame........( and all 123 ancillaries swap over), although I realise exhaust/silencer is different) Reason for asking is at present running 123 with 400x18 rear tyre, which is rubbing, (still using 123 swing arm, as not been able to find a 172 arm)..and the '200', I believe was the later version of the 172 with the wider swing arm. Any idea's ?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me what liquid to use in the clutch for a 2008 4rt? my cap says mineral oil and it had a green seal underneath however everywhere i look it suggests that it should be dot 4? Im wondering if a previous user swapped the cap out for whatever reason. Thanks Matt

I know the current wisdom is 250 jug n slug but is anyone doing the original 237cc piston kits yet? Cheers guys
