Hello my bike needs a petrol tank, but I need one to fit under the original fibre glass one, can you please help ? its a montesa cota 247 1972 year

So I’m after some advice about putting on a rear mudguard sticker. I’ve got a new mudguard and sticker on the way after breaking the current one at the weekend. From what I’ve read and my thoughts here is what I was going to do: Warm the sticker on the radiator. Wet the mudguard with a solution of water and washing up liquid. Starting at the back put the sticker on using a hair dryer to heat and slightly stretch down the middle of the sticker. Work from the middle to the edge squeezing out the bubbles. Repeat with the seat but without slightly stretching the middle of the sticker.

Hi all, this may be daft question but does anybody know if it's possible to fit a later clutch cover to a 71/72 Cota engine to have the clutch arm on top of the crankcase?

HELP, OK so last weekend just after the first section I drowned the bike (2014 4rt), up to my waist in water which is over the air box, Dried it out and after a few kicks it started again and I finished the trial albeit with a few pops and bangs and difficult restarts. So get it home and this week I have stripped down cleaned and thoroughly dried air filter, air box, all the wiring and wiring connectors etc etc. Plus wet so assume its getting fuel and a spark at the plug but it just wont run, not even a flicker ??? Anyone any ideas ?

Chaps, lanning on doing my first oil change this weekend, just bought a filter and some Castrol Power 1 10W-40 4T... But just noticed it’s SEMI not FULLY synthetic. is this a problem? Should I go back and swap it over? cheers Boner.

Could anyone tell me why Honda / Montesa supply orange rim tape (part no 87142-REPJ200) with their Repsol bikes? Orange tape on orange wheels... or is it just scratch protection tape? use it or don’t use it? Boner.

I am now only awaiting confirmation from the DVLA telling me what my registration number will be and it will be road ready /legal. I am thinking of trying to get the fuel tank looking a little tidier. Does anyone have any experience of painting these tanks? It's plastic though it has been repaired underneath with fibreglass.

Hi, I need to fit a kill switch to this model but don't want to just short a random wire to earth until I get confirmation from someone. The stator has four wires going to the CDI unit as a group in one connector. These are Light blue, Blue, White, Black. The CDI then has two other wires in one connector. Green - To coil. White - Not connected but I hope its the kill switch wire? There is also a green/yellow earth wire from CDI to the coil earth. Can anyone tell me which wire or wires are connected to their kill switch please? Hope someone can help, Cheers.

I have been looking for information about changing the crank seals on the above bike but not found anything so far. I wonder if anyone could advise if these can be changed without splitting the cases or not. Thanks, Daniel.

Does anyone know where I can get the rubber that goes in the fork tube. Part number is 2135.025 or 2135.023. Not sure which one is rubber. I had to drive this unit out as the rubber was swollen. I also would like to locate two tubes part number 5135.001. My email is kcbrowntwo7323@gmail.com Thanks

Hello...... I'm new here and have one question on my Repsol rear wheel. I'm trying to replace one broken spoke on my rear DID rim, but I couldn't get the nipple to connect with two section spokes correctly. Could anybody please help and teach me how to get this job done? Thanks a lot! Steve

Apologies in advance as I`m sure this has been covered before. New to the forum and did a quick search but brought up nothing I could figure out. Just picked up a Cota 4RT and wondered where I can get the spares? I checked the Montesa website and Honda website but couldn't find any micro fiche? I have a feeling I`m being a completed eejit but can anyone advise where I can find the parts online (other than ebay). Should have mentioned...I was looking more specifically for the microfiche to allow me to identfy the parts needed to place an order with a UK dealer. And which UK dealer would folks recommend? Can anyone advise of a source of replacement crankcase cover bolts (clutch side), for the 247... or of the spec in order that I can pester my local fastener factor? I swear mine are made of cheese!

Hi, recently purchased a 242 but I find the petrol tank doesn't fit that well around the rear shock absorbers, it's an original white plastic tank not fibreglass, has any of you had this problem?? when I put the long bolt in through the front of the tank and pivot the tank down to its proper seating position on the frame it fouls the rear shocks, the bike is totally original never trialed having spent its life in the warm Italian sun

Hello Collegs, I'am goning to repair a old Montesa 311 for a good friend, but he lost thre right crabkase cover, the one with the waterpump in it. You see it on the photo what is missing ? I need the whole item with the waterpump, (waterpump must be OK). Or a contact were I can get one This would be realy helpfull for me, thanks in advance. Max
