Just putting my 348 back together, I’m a little confused as I’ve seen an exploded diagram of the gearbox and it shows an o ring on one of the rear uppermost casing bolts. I’ve since been told that all the casing bolts need an o ring. None on when I split it.What is the purpose, presumably to prevent oil loss, but where do they go, can find any indentations in any of the bolts to slide it onto. Is it one, or one at each end, one in the middle. Help guys ??? Also struggling to find a torque value for the final drive sprocket nut. Thanks everyone in advance of the usual abundance of practical advice and experience.

So the 330 has always been smokey as long as I remember, but in the past I've just put it down to my dad using old oil This time I've had the carb apart, given it all a bit of a birthday and this is it running on the same fuel that's in the Dalesman. Was hoping to use it in a trial tomorrow but I don't think it's too happy Can't get video to upload, so have done a screenshot of it.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I could not find anything via searching here. No defeat strategy appears obvious to me. I'm unwilling to pay Mitani's price, or to remove it completely. Has this been a "feature" since the bike's introduction? TIA.

Hello, Has any one fitted a lightweight capacitor and / or a carbon rectifier base. Is the new smaller capacitor just zip tied on? Is it good practice to heat shrink or rubber mount the capacitor in some way or will it survive as is - current size is 22 mm x 31 mm ? Not convinced with the carbon bracket and am thinking of modding the existing metal bracket to suit so the fan regulator mount and rear brake reservoir remain and smaller capacitor fits in a similar way on the mock up ??. Any help or pics to show what others have done please ?

Hi, Would someone be able to tell me the acceptable piston ring end gaps for my Montesa cota 200 (1981). I dont know at the moment if the piston is standard or if it has had a re-bore( if that makes a difference). Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm new here, from Belgium and loving my Montesa Cota 315 R (year 2000). Unfortunately I'm not desperatly seeking Susan but desperatly seeking the PDF manual (workshop) for my bike. It seems impossible to find. I also did not get the manual when I bought my bike (secnod hand). I already replaced the steering head bearings, fork oil (my god what a difference) but now I need to replace the rear wheel bearings and some other stuff... Can someone help me? Also, my Monty is very nice, but the throttle is a bit erm, woosh now and then... I'd like it to be snappier... I checked reed valves etc but they are in excellent condition. Also checked and cleaned the carb and t…

hello guys, I have problems with my 4rt 08 repsol to start it, I have done all the tests to try to see what happens, tell you that I have also mounted the starting lever model 2017 and has improved a bit, the bike comes on but after 7 or 8 kicks try another gas pump check valve adjustment Throttle cable adjustment electric connections new spark plug Today I have done a compression test and wanted to discuss the results with you, with the 125 psi cold engine and the 200 psi hot engine, I do not understand these results because in the manual it says that the figure has to be 65 psi. any ideas? thanks in advance

Re-assembled the clutch with new plates and fitted the cover, but the arm seems to be too far 'in' and will foul the gearbox filler plug. It seems that the arm should be further out? I marked the position of the foot on the bottom of the shaft and replaced it in the same position and clipped the circlip in place. Can anybody take a photograph of the arm on their machine and post up on here please.

O.k, I know it's been covered many times but I'm looking for something I may have missed. I recently replaced my 2014 clutch plates with a set of Apico friction plates and dimpled discs. I also used the correct Elf oil. However I continue to get enough clutch drag to have to put it in neutral to start (Just like my Tiger Cub!). Selecting gears becomes difficult once the bike is hot and neutral is pretty much impossible to find at any time with the engine running. I currently have the clutch out and have polished out some very shallow marks in the clutch basket fingers with 800 wet and dry. (mainly on the drive side). I will also dress all the fingers on the …

Hi folks ,been asking loads of questions from the Bultaco enthusiasts about Alpina models . I was looking for a project but in the mean time this came up ,I think it's an M54 250 from around 1974 , and I am tempted . I had a Cota , 40 years ago ,bought as a box of bits and assembled, seemed a decent bike at the time . What can you tell me from the photo , has it got the correct bits on it ,I have been looking at google images and every one seems slightly different . Is the power output 19 bhp ? so really a trial bike like the Alpina ? Anything I should be cautious about ? All advise appreciated
