  1. Hey Greg, Nice setup. I talked to T-Rent today and told him I had seen your photos posted on the internet. If I ever get some rocks in my backyard we can start a series. Alan
  2. Isn't the total at 21 now including Derek Smalls?
  3. I converted to trials from MX a few years ago, but had no idea what the Euro riders were capable of until I bought a video of the '98 or '99 indoor season. It was unbelievable. Most off road riders have an idea what trials is, but can only truly appreciate it when they see world championship level riders for the first time. I showed the video to my daughter and some of her friends, (They were 12 or 13 years old then), and though they weren't riders and didn't seem very interested at first, they soon became totally silent and watched in awe. If an indoor trials video can quiet a room full of teenage girls, then it would probably play well with the general public. Just my opinion, but it would be great to see it happen.
  4. Indoor is what I was thinking of too. Maybe with a few other events added like a splatter wall competition where the run up distance changes, etc.

    X Games

If all you North American members that are always debating about how to best promote trials on this side of the Atlantic are open to suggestions, I would propose that the quickest way to mainstream recognition of our sport is to get trials into the X Games. Imagine what Fuji, Dougie, Raga and the boys would do to the imagination of young riders all over the world if they were showcased along side the other extreme sports.
  6. Thanks, We'll be starting to move some things this week, and will be finished by the end of the month. I'll send a post when we get settled.
  7. I'm moving to the Phoenix area this month. Where do you AZ riders go for practice areas?
  8. Link to 315r parts book: http://www.apexmotosports.com/
  9. MX might be kind of fun on one. You could trash talk with the other riders while racing.
  10. They have already produced a trials bike. I think it was called Denali Tork-Attack, or something like that. I remember seeing one at the Goldendale World Round a few years ago.
  11. Ishy, Thanks for the report. Did anyone drop their bike and if so, how easy was it to restart after being on it's side? I'm wondering if the fuel injection makes hot starting after a crash easier than with some of the new MX bikes.
  12. I have been riding trials for only a few years after more than 20 years of MX. I have always wondered why I have never seen a comparison test of different brands of trials bikes. Many different publications here in the U.S. routinely have comparison tests of, say, all of the 125cc or 250cc MX bikes with several riders of varying abilities rating each bike in different catagories. An overall "winner" is chosen, and individual catagory winners are also listed. Sometimes the overall winner doesn't win any single catagory, the bike just does everything fairly well. When I bought my trials bike, my decision was based on quality of craftmanship and dealer locality. I must say that to my surprise, many of the dealerships I contacted invited me to their stores for a test ride. That had never happened in all of my years in MX. I also attended a U.S. National and got to ride a couple of different brands before I bought my bike, but I was so inexperienced at trials, I didn't know what to look for except quality. I am now getting ready to buy another bike and would find a comparison of different brands very helpful. It would be great to see which bike could possibly help me in my weaker skill areas, ( all of my skill areas are weak, some more than others ). Do any publications in Europe do comparison tests?
  13. Thanks for the feedback. I found them on Lewisportusa's web site for $65.00 US. I think I'll try a set.
  14. Has anyone tried the Jitsie suspension kit that adds 2cm to the 315 rear suspension? What are the results?

    Jackass

Great ideas. The police car should probably be the last section of the day. I'm looking forward to seeing the "slow speed chase" on the news. Try to at least wear some pants, because those " professional jackasses" on T.V. look like they have a few permanent scars. Now for the poll: I've never seen either one of you in person, but since Johnny Knoxville hasn't ever claimed to be a member of Team Full Monty I'll vote for you. Try to get up to the Donner National this year so we can get a Nor Cal preview of your video.
