  1. If you like lots of maintenance and breakdowns go for the gasser 100%, they definately ride better than any of the other bikes including the Beta. I would love to get another Gasser after riding lots of them in the 90's but would nt buy one now. The Beta's are easy to work on and very reliable, may not be a light and nimble as the Gasser but you know its going to start every time and not fall to bits or have quite major breakdowns if you get a bad one. Hope to get another Gasgas one day but not untill the unreliability is sorted out, they are just to fragile these days i feel, especially if you ride alot

why you so sure the gassers have lots of maintenance and breakdowns ? Ive not touched anything on my bike which you wouldnt have had to on the beta and at least our nuts and bolts dont rattle loose you dont even have to check them before every ride.

  2. Only swinging arms ive seen broken are them from pros and none of us ride at that level so i wouldnt worry.

This is what Ross done in Spain but it was from a 8ft drop off - not what you would find in a local trial

well if hes dropping off things taller than me il call him a pro :D

  3. And what's the text on the rear mudguard? Looks like "THUNDERFART"....

No I think it reads 'OLDFART' , never knew Beta had done you a personalised bike neon :D

Ooooo Rob dont you think you get enough unwanted points on trials than saying stuff like that lol :o

  4. Easiest way i found of lining up the gap with the pins is having them both facing up and down so they are vertical and just try from there just be gentle with it til it goes in cant really think if theres an easier way ?

  5. Exactly spinner ive just had mine off the other week all you need is a pair of grips to squeeze them back together again oh and squeeze it to undo them also just make sure if they are miss shaped before you put them back on make them round as possible so its easier for you to put them back on :D

  6. Those examples were both 02 bikes those year of bike were not very good as they were the first pros and the 00 i didnt really like that model dont know why ... like i say my 05 has been mint never had to do anything to it *touch wood*

  7. ive had two gassers for the last two years a 2001 one and now a 2006 one and i havent had any problems with neither of them parts wise, the only thing really that needs doing is bearings every so often likew in the wheels and that but you probably do that on your beta anyway, some people also say that the gassers are more maintenence which they probably are but if you look after them they are ok. i think the gasser is a great bike and i wouldn`t change from one!

If i were you i would stick with Beta. last year my gasser txt 125 2000 had a lot of problems. i ended up having to re build the whole new backwheel because the hub cracked in half! Now i have a Beta 06, and the fact that it may be a bit heavier than a GasGas is not an issue, as i find i am improving much quicker than i would have done on my gasser.

Thats a 2000 model if your going to get a gasser at least get a recent model not saying they are alot better than the txts cos they were bullet proof but the newer pros 04- 06 seem to be mint.

  8. Had a 1998 and 05 which ive had since christmas and never had any real big problems with it apart from what you would do on every other make of bike like wheel bearings ect like coxy says as long as you look after them they are great bikes.

  9. dont remove any wires just pull the clips off on your thermostat that the wires are connected to and then they attach together do that and put it back on one of the thermostat sides should stay on if its working.
