It's a 83 pro with a clouded history of origins ... I know the bike was left here after the WR.in texas that year, and was sold as a used competition motorcycle days later...
I've got the paperwork to back that up , But have never been able to determine who's bike it was . and it isn't a "normal" 240 at all , compared to other ones I've got ...
I've got a 84 300 motor that came out of a bike that showed 141 miles on the speedo ... And a undented 300 expansion chamber to go with it . Time will tell ..
The B&J one is quite robust , and I've seen it slammed over some formidable obstacles , (in practice of course !)...
I'm saving for one for my sons reflex, after some real shocks and my spare marzorochi(sp?) fantic forks....
By then he'll apriciate it , for now it's got a modded fantic alli one that wrks better than stock , but doesn't give much protection to the widest points on the engine ...
Just for fun , check out http://blackcatvintagetrials.com/, Do a little poking about and you'll find the coolest RE bullit ever ! (IMHO) . If I remember correctly , it was a works bike at one time ... But has been loved into the coolest 2 wheeled John Deer I've ever got to swing a leg over .
jitsie all the way. I did have a standard filter get sucked into the throttle body many years ago, it was probably past its best and not seated correctly without the flame guard. Quite amusing at the time.
I've got a buddy that is approaching 70yrs. old and is also one of the finest trials riders I've ever enjoyed the company of riding with ...He's had the same 4rt since we could buy one , and yes he knows a HRC engineer quite well and his bike is not quite stock ... But nonetheless IT IS a remarkable machine ! Still to this day it works like a sewing machine ...
