Thanks for the replies so far, its for a HERCHEE Adly 220 Quad 180cc. Ive tried fitting a 28mm MOLKT carb this week but it was a bad idea, even with the jet kit it is just to big for that engine.

I have searched the depths of the internet to find a replacement for this carburettor but I have just about given up on hope in finding one. Please can someone point me in the right direction to a mikuni specialist or advice on a suitable replacement. Its is for a 176.3cc 4 Stroke engine. The numbers on it are : 24506 D561 Thanks in advance.

Langcourts all the way for sure mate, Ill second that. Whilst the crank is out,take it to a engineer to check that is still true after the lock up and the of it. They wont charge you much to make it true if its out.I rebuilt my full motor a few months back and had the crank trued as it was well out,runs like a dream now!

Have you had the carb off and cleaned it recently? Sounds as though the fuel valve is staying open too long or not completley closing. Take the carb off and clean it out properly, inspect the fuel valve and the floats.

I have 2005 sherco, ive notice a small hole on the underside of the flywheel cover, is it supposed to have a plug in it? a screw ? is it supposed to be there?

I am so very drawn to the Pre 65 bikes class at the moment, the shapes and the nostalgia are just great. My question is why is there a specific demand for pre 65 ? what happened after 65 that people didnt like>?

Update; All sorted eventually its with 1 to 2 mm true, looks fine when the wheel is spun. First time i have put a rear X11 on too, i can safely say the easiest and safest way is to take the valve stem out use 3 ratchet straps around the tyre equal distance apart. blow it up and as it takes onto the rim let the straps off.

Next thing I would check is to see if it will bleed. Do you know how to bleed a brake ?

It sounds as though you’ve lost all hydrolic pressure from master to slave cylinder. Has all the fluid gone from the resivour ?

I personally would shoot for a sherco between 2003 and 2008 for that budget, 250 or 290.The gearbox's are pretty much bomb proof from what I've heard.I only say that becasue ive only ever had Shercos and Fantics and i can speak from experience. If you have a friend who already rides trials or has some good mechanical knowledge, take them along to see and hear the bike you want to buy. It would be great if you could actually have a ride of few peoples bikes at a trial but youre a complete novice so it may not work ha If you get a decent pair of boots thats good, you may never have to buy another for 10 years if you look after a good quality pair.

I can imagine manufacture cost and their market research probably found there was no substantial profit to be made? I’m not an expert, just what I imagine is the case.

i personally used a very little bit of 2 stroke oil just to wet them a little bit to stop the o rings getting twisted as you slot in the exhaust.

Hello Pete, I returned to trials a month back now and i am just over six foot and weigh around the same and ive bought a 250. It was 100% the right choic, you will pick it up again in no time and you dont want to have to buy twice if you know what i mean. Ive never ridden a four stroke trials bike but im sure someone else will have some information on the pro's and cons of both.
