  1. Hi, just wondering if anyone who may have watched Pats video has any comments. Watch it once for the rear wheel moves then next time try to pay attention to the impressive Wisconsin scenery, notice 90 % of shots are from 2005 . His footage differs from Balancing Act 1-4 in that there are way less Splatters featured. There are a few heavy duty crashes that are interesting.
  2. I think what Nick did was awesome I just wanted to point out that sometimes things can really work in a riders favor and nothing more. Yes it does read as though he maybe didnt earn the spot but hey he stayed up and rode fast enough to get the job done ,I know my boys are jealous or envious that he did what he did,it is definately huge exposure for Trials as a sport and I wouldnt doubt that if 10 trialsers showed up they might almost feel like putting in a different class for them , We also thought it wasnt legal to run a trials bike or there may have been a few more Shercos out there. Depending on the course I would think a liitle stiffer suspension and some gearing and clutch changes might be enough to really run towards the front of the main event.
  3. Unless we are blessed with the luck Nick Montzoros had, where the rest of the pack luckily crashes themselves out of contention there is no possible way to finish a 125 bid in the top 3. Even 5 WINS is a meager 100 points and looking at FIM site that is only 7 th place.Due to location and plans to attend all NATC rounds the plans are to get in 5 rides; maybe 6 .
  4. It seems as though the NATC website is showing a different set of dates for TN and OH vs what is inside (events 07) and different from what was . While I would suppose the front page over rules is there an explanation for the change or at least a clarrification as to which dates to plan on ???
  5. We in USA have had a few replaced under warranty so I would think on an 06 you should get 1st replacement n/c
  6. On the mellow Expert line it really had NO shortcomings ,it was comfortable stable and VERY SMOOTH I learned to avoid looking at its BIG motor and just jump on kick 1 or 2 xs and ride ; actually quite fun. If i were to own one and try bigger walls etc. it would probably be nice to have a custom cam somewhere between (Detuned trials stock and moto x , maybe they have an enduro cam ) just seems a bit soft but of course rev and hold then hold gas longer on ups works too. Phil rode a loop of the Exhibition class line and really had no particular trouble ,working it into box corners no problem and getting up the very short run slightly angled away 7 ft wall section 8 cleanly . I actually would like to have one over winter to play with but I would guess they are over $7000 . The footpegs were really sweet ,the bars felt a bit wide but the overall finish is excellent. Good bike cant wait to see who will ride one in 07.
  7. hey what happened to th UMTA guys throwing one at DULUTH I had heard rumors and wished it true. Also is the official meeting now over so 07 rules are firmly in place>???
  8. Could that be the marker that pat knocked loose on exhibition #3? I wanted to say good job to everyone involved with the event, it was definately one of the best trials ive attended that is not a full on national. I had a great time, and besides the full on lack of sleep and energy, had great fun riding. I look forward to going back next year! -Phil Smage
  9. nope, my dads not going to make it, hes got too much field work to be done, so he's sending me and pat down with City Trials and my uncle Bill. If he did go, though, id imagine him riding Expert, as he is quite good. Hopefully next year! Anyone know how close the hotels are located? Pro class start times? Sounds like a great event, and i look forward to riding it! -Phil
  10. Check out http://www.myspace.com/smagical for a teaser of a new film by Five-5-1-Films. Its got quite a healthy dosage of trials, plus a bunch of other sports. Sorry for the bad quality on the upload. Enjoy.
  11. It has to be STEVE COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLEY woad W/O a doubt
  12. Someone should repost the Youth Championship final tally I think Andrew Oldar took it but lets see the numbers from someone who was there....
  13. Yeah we just got lucky and happened to catch the uni champs and then at the end see that Keith and Chris are on soon how awesome. Does anyone know where this show is done and more about the auditions .Now it looks like they might as well put trials bicycles in as well. MICH LIN mr hollywood you out there ..................any insight??????????? I had heard some show done by the american idol folks were maybe going to do a General Talent type of thing based in Chicago ,:is that the one ????????
  14. I would like to mention that the 0 or (open ) line is the hardest route and can be ridden by kids that are perhaps above their typical age bracketing in skill so most anyone should be able to find a level that fits them. That is the great part , if a beginner and old enough that the line is tougher you go Exhibition and have fun but no title chase ,If a bit better than average jump in open (not sure if they have a minimmum age for that or a clerk of course decision ) Anyway its a great event and yes quite a few cleans and a very spectator friendly small loop. We are shooting to get there and ride the bicycle event then train a week do another bike event ride a week then do the local STRA rounds hope it stays below 100 degrees too.
  15. If you could find out how much material is removed from which ports for some of the top riders I know someone who does great porting work otherwise we will probably just keep it stock and possibly check the condition of rings and piston soon. Pat has done some of the same big wall splatters that were not terribly hard on the 2.9 . He seemed to think (no way) but then went for it and got it up kind of a good way to keep the riding routine more interesting .
  16. I do believe if you look at Europe they thrive on shows and in general SHOWING OFF ( why do you think they wear the 1 piece suits) The videos I have seen that show the factories always include a Demo?Show w/ Raga and Guyo or Jordi or some hot shot [playing and tricking for the crowds all having tons of FUN and entertainment .
  17. The real motorized Circus act is the FMX stuff .Trials shows are a great way to get the sport out to people that would otherwise never know about the sport, escp. since in America it is almost never televised or advertised. We do a commercial on the local club scene, where to got to watch an actual competition ,where to buy a bike ,how great of a family sport it is and on and on. Every time a show concludes someone comes up and wants to know more. Even a guy who does motorcyle license training wanted a demo disc to show his class . All positive feedback and a paycheck top cover travel to the next NATC round ,why is that a bad thing???
  18. Again ,Lane Laia Sanz was 4th and 5th vs US PROS not 2nd Lane. Atom, The training days are coming very soon In early July . Are there no conflicts at that time in Ross events schedule? Check w/ Dan Brown he has email contact on his <trialstrainingcenter> site I would kick in $100 to cover some of the air fare and drive to Memphis airport to pick Ross up >I will be at TTC w/ Pat and maybe Phil for the period roughly July 3 through July 17th let me know if you are serious or if the timing works .
  19. Pretty sure Sanz would havae placed 4th and 5th vs US PROs not 3rd BTW
  20. Wow it must have been THE weekend for trials shows ;my boys did a 2 day 9 shows gig at Elkhart Lake big Suzuki double header weekend . The highlight ;besides just being there for all of it and getting some travel $ was talking trials w/ the great Doug Henry after his Super Moto final Unfortunately his usual podium didnt happen because his throttle loosened and he couldnt Gas it ; didnt seem all that bummed what a nice guy . Amazing the winner Some Malladdin guy had a terrible start it seemed like his clutch wasnt hooking up so he had a mid pack start but like RC or Bubba he just smoked through the pack and after a 5 th lap[ red flag and restart was able to take over for the win . Also it was awesome to see the team that Michael Jordan has put together neet yellow/gold Suzukis
  21. Yeah way to go Albert great to see you and Sherco back to having good success . Very well done !!!Keep it up.

    Ron

Just a few Easy questions . How many true champions would answer the following w/ (MYSELF) Who is your favorite rider or Who is the greatest rider ?? Would a guy who has for over a decade dominated the majority of Champ/Pro level events on 1/2 the planet be considered a true champion? Any other historians out there who could share some of the stories back when Bernie was in his prime and the competition was so intense and etc. ? If all USA riders suck why did a teenager from California finish so high in the JR class?? Why if you count dabs only(remove time and yellow card penalties) did a kid with less than 1 year riding pro come within 3 dabs of Laia? We all suck? GMAB (give me a break)

What Michman is saying is that he is convinced there will never be any riders better than Himself ,Debbie ,Bernie and Ms Sanz period in his mind that is reality and we all need to catch up on the fact

Ron didnt you find it funny when the great one ( Leavitt to beaver) cuts down THE GREAT ONE (Geoff) then in the next batch of posts claims to be big buddies? Also the post you had about getting of your butt and DOING something for the sport (which seemed directed at Lane types) He shot right back in agreement and didnt even get the ribbing (or chose to ignore it) Yes it is great entertainment > too bad he offers so much negativity I guess when you have such a serious Superiority complex as he thats how you treat the rest of the world?
  25. Yeah, big thumbs up to the entire effort down at TTC what a big job to undertake and execute . Again the only negative was the same as we observed at Duluth that some sections just had too much to do in them so the riders were so forced to rush, there was NO hope to ride them properly , 1 or 2 sections that are pushing every rider to the whistle I can see but escpecially on Saturday it seemed like they were all an obstacle or 3 switchback turns too long. Good band nice amount of food stops, portalets and showers the details were taken care of well. Of course the wetness had a lot to do with so many over 100 scores and we quickly learned how to get in on time to drop over 20 points off Pats score on day 2 ,also I was glad to not have to dispute any of his marks ,no extra points called and no Gifts given Great job on the observers part. Now the next big event is the youth National in July which gets better each year as well. Thanks again
