  3. Ive got a 320 majesty, the engine has recently been rebuilt so everything that matters is new, this work was carried out by someone who knows what they are doing. It has got the electronic ignition that craig mawlem sells. I have opened up the standard TY air box by removing the seat for the origional filter that restricts the air flow and fitted a TY mono filter to the top of the air box. It has a WES exhaust and a standard TY 250 Mikuni carb with larger jets, but after all this Im still having problems getting it set up to run ok. Its great in the sections but as soon as you get it out into the open fields and try to open it up it starts to pink and knock. The only thing I can think of is that the carb is set wrong and the ignition is set wrong has any body out there got one of these machines that can give me some ideas of what settings to use. Ive heard that you can use dellorto carbs but which one? what settings? does it make any difference . Anyway need help cheers mark
  4. cheers for that woody, while I remember what carb and jetting do you use on the 340, as my 320 engine is all brand new inside and was rebuilt by some one who knows what the are doing, but as I said before it was great in sections but pinked and knocked between when opened up. Also who makes the larger airbox you mentioned, as mine is still the ty item with inside removed and a ty mono filter in the top. The exhaust is the wes type so Im pretty sure that my problem has got to be carburation and timing ( its also got electronic ignition). Do you know Nick Shield? if so, do you know the set up on his, as it seems to work ok.
  5. Im hoping to fit a pair of ty mono forks to my majesty does anybody know if the majesty front wheel can be used or will I need to fit the whole mono front end as at the moment Ive only got the forks
  6. Does anybody know who makes the mick andrews james replicas you see at pre 65 trials
  7. Thanks for the info Woody. Do you know John Cane at Trail & Trials? He's got the engine and other bits at the moment, as he is doing the conversion for me. If you ring John he will be able to tell you how much the parts are worth, as I have no idea. Im selling them to raise money for the new 250 parts. Thanks for the interest Mark P.S the Majesty has a Godden frame with no rear loop.

  9. Hello out there Im in the process of restoring my Majesty. I have had the frame stripped to bare metal, but cant make up my mind about having it repainted. A couple of years ago I restored a ty175 and had the frame powder coated. This was great until I tried to rebuild it as the bolt holes and threads were all full of powder coat, also when it chips I cant touch it up. Im thinking of paintin the Majesty frame but would like some advise on what paint use, and whether this is practical as the bike will be used in trials and not just to look at. Hope somebody can help, cheers Mark
  10. I have just been offered a bsa b40 by a guy at work. Its not in bad nick, but is in road spec. Can anybody tell me what needs to be done to make it into a half descent pre-65 mount. Please bear in mind that I dont need a ultra trick comp winning bike, as it would never win anything with me on it anyway, just a descent clubman hack. Thanks Mark
