looks like a stock fly wheel to me
-
Hi probably the nearest place to you that its legal to practice is back cowm quarry at whitworth
-
I thought of putting Yam mono forks and hubs on it but have been told the Yam brake plates are prone to cracking, plus at the time I would have to of bought a full bike to get the front end as there were no parts available. It seems a shame to brake a full bike.
-
Hi can anyone tell me where I can get a chain guard for a Godden framed Majesty. I have looked on Craig Mawlems site but cant see anything.
-
4. Leave tank without lid in the sun for 2 weeks to help evaporate hydrocarbons from tank internals and with the plastic.
Looks like thats us in the UK knackered then
-
Dave Renham at Bultacouk sell all the correct exhaust parts if required I fitted new parts to mine the difference was hugh

The forks are Marzocchi off a late Beta twinshock, at the time it was easier to get them than the Yamaha mono forks and also Ive heard about issues with mono front hubs.
The front wheel is off a Fantic 240, rear is TY both are around same age as the bike and have been polished and respoked with stainless spokes

Well just thought Id post a couple of pictures showing where Im upto with the restoration of my Majesty. Its taken about 3 years to get this far for one reason or another. Im hoping to have it finished for Wrightys show at Telford next year

Most people who fit mono fork have the standard yokes bored to fit the new forks
-

jonv8. I remember speaking to you at Malvern, In answer to your question I just Help John (Trail and Trials) at the shows sometimes, and yes he had genuine TY250 pistons in stock when I spoke to him today.
Alan_nc. Sorry my mistake a DT piston will fit a TY250, but only one specific model, and even so I still wouldnt fit a pattern piston as quality control can vary greatly as I found out when rebuilding My Bultaco.
-
I agree that there are pistons from other models that will fit and the bike will run, but are the transfer ports and other things the same, as this makes all the difference to the power characteristics of the bike. When I first bought my Ty it was fitted with a non standard piston. When I fitted a genuine Yamaha trials piston it was transformed. A word of caution it my say fits ty/dt/yz or what ever, but dont be fooled. I know its more expensive but I personally wouldnt fit any thing but a genuine TY piston and rings.
-
I know its off subject, but did anybody notice that Robin Luscombe came third and only dropped 4 marks on a borrowed Triumph twin.
-
Hi thanks guys, but Im talking about the stainless pipes they both do. I had the chrome pipe from Sammy but it didnt fit the Maj very well, I was told the pipe Craig is selling was made shorter to fit the Godden frame better
-
Has anybody used one of the stainless pipes sold by Craig Mawlam or Sammy Miller? If so what do you think of them as Im looking to buy one for my Majesty
-
I stripped the paint off my 250 and had them vapour blasted looks great, when it comes back from rebore I will post pictures
-

-
Just looked at Craig Mawlams sight it seems there must be a world shortage on fibreglass and resin, as its not only the seats that have gone up the small petrol tanks have gone up to
