  1. well done Mad Alec (Smart Alec!) the back of the mick andrews pics say july80 and the eddie and steve pics oct81. Mick was the only rider not competing just demonstrating, i'm sure from 83 onwards jack stites did the commentry? Riders in the pic included Hattori, Vesty, JR (winner 80), Fantic rider? poss Jean Pierre Goy (winner 81)and Bernie. Other Honda rider I believe was Jean Marie Lejeune on eddies bike perhaps!
  2. Micks 1980 majesty, was he the oldest bloke to win a world round?
  3. "When we were lads we never walked the sections, we just got somebody to video it for us the day before!" I hoped you enjoyed the pics! i'll have to dig out the Kickstart vids now!
  4. But seriously who rides a green bike nowadays, Quote:Sammy Miller, (The Way To Win Motorcycle Trials) "This must be one of the machines with potential for the future" Anybody have any other famous trials quotes that didn't come to pass?
  5. Another silly dab! I think this kid should have given up trials why he had the chance!!!! I can't see him making a career out of it!!!!!!
  6. Same bike different rider! any guesses?
  7. Easy one this!! Look how much he has to clamp is legs into the bike to nose wheelie this lightweight machine!!
  8. getting there slowly, Kickstart 80/81 the guy laying down was Peter Pervis, it took Mick two attepts before he cleaned him!!!! Few more pics for you!!
  9. different pic of the riders, anyone name the event & year?
  10. Hey we will have to talk about this in 10 years time Nigel and see who's bike is still around! I still love my sherco but can't stand replacing and repacking those linkages, surly a better way of protecting the bearings could have been developed over six years of refinement?
  11. Who is the AHAMAY rider bunny hopping over, and of the nine riders in he first pic who never rode the event?
  12. Last one, its amazing what pics you can find fron downunder Perth ehh!!
  13. I believe it was the man of kent trial, i'll try and post some 1979/80 pics, mainly of Lamkin/Rathnal. The Oast House on the road work pic of Lamkin/Rathnal should give the location. Heath would know perhaps?????
  14. Replaced every suspension bearing on my 2000 sherco, and my sons 99 sherco, easy enough to fit however had too take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for it...... Both bikes still have a bit of play in them and six months down the track are back to their old sloppy selves! Sorry guys I now ride a SY much less maintainance!!!!!!!
  15. I have canibalised some parts from various DT's 100/125/175's over the years to keep my two 175's running. Side case covers are a no no though, definatly stick out a lot more than a TY's. Always check with your local Yam dealer first theres still a lot of parts, I recently bourght a new TY175 kickstart from a yam dealer for half the bike wreckers price!!!
  16. You guys need to get out more! How many of you chaps are riding the SSDT compared to the Aussies, I know its not the WTC but most riders cut thier milk teeth there.
  17. Yep! i've just watched it again, i'd definatly want my mummy after that one. Parie Bercy 95!!!
  18. Well presented demo, definatly a fine advert for trials, I noticed he didn't use any shipping containers........ For those who don't know one of the best getoffs in world indoor videos was Tommi backflippin onto then falling off a container in the late 90's indoor (97 perhaps?)

    Weight

Having just bourght a 04 sy I have nothing but praise for it, however she does have a tendency to stall at the lower revs, a problem I didn't suffer with my previous sherco. Evidently retarding the timing back to original Yamaha settings is the way to fix this minor hicup! once i've tried it i'll let you all know how I got on. On the plus side it cost me over $200 (aus) to replace the multitude of bearings to bring the sherco's rear end up to spec and it still has play in it. The scorpas rear end has not one iota of play and with the limited amount of moving parts should be a major saving come the yearly rebuild. (if she needs one at all)
  20. Has the same card been sent to the TODO site? and if so I wonder if it stired up the same sort of feelings. What you must remember is the Anglo Saxon measure as to what is pigheadedness, boasting, or just bad taste, is not the same world wide (or at least in spain) What you must also remember is its been a good few years since the likes of Marc and Jordi has won the world crown and they have something to celebrate for the amount of money thats been invested. I wonder if next years card with el presidentee Doug wearing a upturned pint of Tetleys with a blackpudding moulded into the shape of the Star Of India, embosed on the front will cause the same type of comments!!!!!!
