  1. www.beta-uk.com cheers
  2. You wont go through so many when your chain stretches and you move the wheel back, its quite a common problem. Make a new one out of an old inner-tube.
  3. The packing in the midbox is more like steel wool.I know because my dad and I tried to clean out my midbox by using a blowtorch and a long wire brush. The problem was that whenever we put the blowtorch inside the midbox it went out - lack of air.So my dad decided to use the compressor to supply the blowtorch with air.Bad idea! There were embers flying out the end of the pipe and we thought 'oh great it's working'.But then the midbox suddenly began to melt and a large gaping hole appeared! It was not repairable as it had lost its shape aswell.I think we had achieved a blast furnace effect! All because of oil build-up by using fully synthetic at about 60:1! Never again. As far as I am aware the midbox is not repackable. You can still buy caustic soda in B&Q for drain cleaning.Hope this has helped Mike.
  4. The lap size is as Big John said. The Knock is rocky/hilly piece of land and from what I remember there is no stream. It was a great trial last year. The club has a website - www.lmcc.co.uk you can find out details about the trial there. There are also some pictures of last years trial at the Knock.
  5. That is the same CCM that is on the classifieds on this page. It will be interesting to see what it goes for!

  7. put a kehin carb on it and get the ports polished.
  8. But you just got that? Whats the point, just tune up your sherco.
  9. Also, the rear brake pedal is quite close to the chain and if the pedal gets bent then it rubs. It's not to much of a problem as it can be fixed with the aid of a mallet ! p.s the 250 will give plenty power.I weigh quite a lot and mine gets me around with ease.

  11. Hi essex rider, you can get an 'aftermarket' one made by radycool. You can view them on the steve saunders website. They are a lot more durable than the originals and they are slightly cheaper. You can get them in black and red.Ive had one on my bike for about 8 months now and it is still good with regular use.

    Kill Switch

Hi all, my friend bought an 04 sherco 250 today and he was wondering how you fit a kill switch. Is it an easy job or do you have to cut wires? Also how much gear oil do we put in? is it 450cc like the 290? thank you in advance!

    Exhaust

My silencer quite often gets bent in by being dropped on its side in a section. I did recently have to replace the rubber mount though. The sub frame is not bent though.

    Exhaust

Essex rider, if you mean the silencer then stick the bracket in a vice(or grab it with mole grips)and just bend it as required.A liitle heat will make it easier i have done this to mine several times now and it hasnt broken off (yet) if you mean the mid box then im not sure what to do.

    Flywheel Play

Hello again Bob, I am assured by JLI that the top end bearing/bush on a rev 3 200 is brass. Apparently they did this so that they could use the conrod off the 250's.They did use a roller bearing in 2000-2001 on the 200s.

    Flywheel Play

Hi bob, my dads bike does the same (05 200) we phoned up jli to see if this was a problem and they said that it was because the top end on the 200's is brass so it is a little louder for some reason and it also has a little more play in it. I hope this settles your mind mike
  17. they do small ones which fit the gas gas clutch master cylinder.I will mention that next time I see him. mike
  18. thought i recognised it! I know the guy, I live quite near to him. Some master cylinder covers from bvm would look good you can view them on their web page. mike

    More Power?

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you know if it is possible to gain more power from a 2004 rev 3 250 by changing the jets or by any other means? thanks mike
  22. If you look at your radiator there shold be 2 wires which go into the thermostat. Then remove these wires and then connect them together using a piece of wire. When you kick the bike over with the wires connected the fan should turn, if it does turn then it is the thermostat which is to fault. If the fan does not turn then it is more than likely that the fan motor has packed in.But before you do this just check that all the wires are in place correctly incase it is just a loose wire that is at fault.I had the same problem with my beta but it turned out that I had forgotten to connect some wires after fitting a kill switch.
  23. Hi all I was just wondering if anyone knows what the words tecnol and gilardoni mean? tecnol is stamped on the barrel of my dads 05 rev3 and gilardoni is stamped on the barrel of my 04 rev 3. Could it be where the barrels are made? Just curious. thanks mike.
