  1. still no results from last sundays woodyard trial at reeth ,come on darlo club were all waiting and theres another trial upon us now lets see if you can get them up before richmond do for a trial a week later

Why not call the club and politely ask the question instead of publicly slating them! Have you ever ran a motor club? Do you know of the hard work put into running a club and from time to time how results can be late due to technical issues or a busy time after the trial? If you have ran a club im sure you will all ready know this, but either way i think we should all be greatfull to all involved instead of getting cheesed off after 6 days.

  2. Hi Nath.

    Firstly, training.

You need to be out on the bike from now up until the scott every weekend. If you can, go to the gym, then do. You need to do plenty of cardio work. When doing weights don't d too many heavy weights, stick to manageable weights and do lots of repetition.

The bike needs a full strip down around 3 weeks before hand, wheels out, brake pads replaced if need be, swinging arm out, check and service all of the back end, carb and i always make sure i have decent heavy duty chain and sprockets, I use iris and have never let me down, last thing you want is the chain snapping. Make sure you have a good mud flap on.oh and a new back tyre not an x lite, too weak and won't take the pace.

I use a camelbak like most people, don't carry too much in the form of drinks, as said before tape one to your fuel can and only about a litre in your bag. Tools, you need all your tyre repair stuff, Allan keys, philips, stubby bicycle pump, shortened back wheel spanner/ajustable, spare levers, spark plug, cable ties and a bit of rag! Lol. Oh and wear your bag all tooled up a few trials before to get used to it.

Riding gear, just judge it on the day, I would suggest goggles or some safety glasses.

Most of all, on the day, pace yourself, it's a very long 85miles, good luck, hope this helps, see you at the start line!

  3. Hi guys, I have some oiled gaerne boots that are about six years old now. Every other trial I use some leather feed that is initially used for leather horse gear, saddles etc . . . . Let that sink in then nik-wak on top. Six years on and still going strong!

  4. Just been round my brothers tonight to give him a hand dragging out the old 2005 Montesa 4rt, Its not been started in 4 YEARS! Stroked the kick-start twice slowly (as you do) to power up the electrics and the kicked it over. Fired up and ticked over like it had been running only yesterday! Flawless!

  5. Montesa 4RT Best bike you have ever owned? I think people give the 4rt a bit of a hard time but i have had my 4RT since new (2005) and has not missed a beat! Build quality is un-beatable and in my opinion the best bike for grip around! Excellent suspension, ride, and looks! I think they deserve a bit more credit for a 6 year old design!
