It could be staining from exhaust gasses, as the piston closes the port it will create a slight vacuum pulling gasses back from the pipe, there are also exhaust gas pulses exiting the pipe which create a negative charge which travel back up the pipe preventing excessive unburnt charge escaping into the exhaust improving burn efficiency. Theres more to it than this, 2strokes aren't so simple after all, they probably shouldn't work, there's black magic at work which is why I like them. Anyway, if it's knocking check the con rod, piston and main bearing clearances/condition.
Is the gap around the bolt head not caused by the tab elongating due to the crack, e.g. you now have an oval hole, the bolt has moved forward with the engine or the frame has stretched.
Unscrew the Allen bolt that secures the kickstart to the centre of the shaft about 2 turns. Then pull the kickstart out so that it presses onto the top of the bolt, this will extract the kickstart knuckle from the shaft. If its tight all the way unscrew the bolt a few turns again and repeat.
Been using Jitsie for a year, bit sweaty in hot weather but they get tossed in the washer and haven't fell to bits yet. The unanswerable part is would they or any other prevent shattered knee caps.
