  1. It's quite possible that someone had previously overtightened the top yoke clamp before I acquired it. I'm just going to go with the 340ml and pretend it never happened Good tip though dabba if I ever really need to remove the spring
  2. To be honest I'm only concerned because I want to make sure the oil volume is correct, forcibly removing the bush could cause damage to the fork tube ? I think I'll just leave It! Thanks for the help chaps, I should be riding tomorrow ?
  3. Thanks Lineaway, I'm glad it's not just me then! I'll put 340cc in. It looks very much like the bush will have to be butchered and replaced
  4. Yeah it's weird, should the plastic bush just slide straight out Dan? It's stuck absolutely solid in there, I've tried pulling up under it with a hook tool but it's just stuck :-(
  5. Alternatively I could just leave the spring in place and just fill with a specific quantity of oil in ml if anyone knows how much it needs?
  6. Hi, I really need some urgent advice (trial booked tomorrow!); I'm changing the leaking fork seals, I've done the right fork (rebound) no problem but now that I've got the left fork disassembled I can't work out how the spring comes out. I need the spring out to measure the correct air gap for oil quantity. I've removed the top cap and the conical plastic spacer underneath but there's another cylindrical plastic bush on the inside of the fork tube that the spring appears to be seated under. This plastic bush does not seem to come out, can anyone help please?
  7. That's great news, you'll have to let us know how it is after a decent run.
  8. I stand corrected! Inch Perfect do sell tyres. £100 for a Michelin X11 fitted...not bad at all I don't think
  9. No I haven't actually but I've been up there plenty of times and I've never seen any tyres and there's nothing on their website either. I'll contact Matthew to ask, you're quite right though, I probably should have done that first!!
  10. Hi, does anyone know where I could get a new set of tyres fitted in Lancs? I'm in Clitheroe and near to Inch Perfect but I don't think they do tyres...or do they? Cheers
  11. Yes you can buy them individually, I got mine from Beta UK in Skipton
  12. Hi Whitevancam, If you'd read this entire thread (it would take a while :-)) you might have seen my experiences. My clutch was just like yours; literally pushing a locked front wheel forward! I did the whole de-glue and tab rounding thing and found very little to zero difference but what I did in the end (which worked) was to replace the two thicker plates for standard thickness ones, filled up with Putoline nano-trans and Bob was my Uncle. The difference was night and day, it's perfect now and I can even select neutral with the engine running as easily as one would expect to be able to. I don't really know why replacing the two thicker plates had such an effect but it did but I also absolutely swear by the Nano-trans oil now too. Hope this helps mate
  13. That would be brilliant if you could :-) Thanks
  14. Hi Monty, to be honest I've simply left the bridge on the connection so it's on constantly, I never actually got to the bottom of the issue although I'm sure I will try harder at some point!
  15. I do ride in woods a lot so that could be useful if it does have an effect on branches. Would a flimsy plastic peak really help in a face plant?
  16. I've just bought myself a Gopro to film my fails (and the odd good thing hopefully!) :-) I'd like to mount it on my helmet ideally but the peak of my helmet would be very much in the way of a helmet strap. My question is; what is the actual purpose of a peak on a trials helmet? I could simply remove it and it would make fitting the Gopro much easier. If the only purpose of a peak is to keep sunlight out of my eyes, I'm sure I'll manage just fine without it, especially here in the UK!! Anyone got anything to add about its purpose?
  17. I've been out on my bike today and it's not working again . I just bridged the wires and left it on permanently while I was riding. Is there any good reason why I shouldn't just permanently leave it like this? It seems to me that once it's up to temp the fan's pretty much always on anyway really
  18. Interesting! I'll give that a try...
  19. That's really interesting Dan and it could well be the problem. I did think I saw the fan attempting to start on one occasion but giving up. I'll take it out again and measure the resistance when it's switched. Unfortunately there are aren't any on ebay so it's the full price of over £40 to replace so I might as well make sure that it is faulty before I replace it.
  20. Hmm well, I may have spoken too soon actually. It stopped working again at the weekend. I too thought it must be either the connection at the thermostat end or the junction of the wires further back so I first wiggled and messed with the wires going into the thermostat but that didn't help. Luckily I'd taken a few tools with me including the allen key for the plastic cover over the wire connectors. I tried wiggling the wires there too but to no avail. So I pulled the connector and bridged the wires and sure enough it worked, as soon as I then replugged the connector block it worked and continued to work perfectly. Like with yours, the connections seem absolutely fine; no dirt or corrosion at all, it's almost as though it needed a reboot! But surely this can't be the case, it's just a connection...or not a connection! I was thinking I might use a different connector block of a higher quality (or just solder and heat shrink!!).
  21. Ha ha great point!! We're tied up in knots with bureaucracy!! I'm beginning to think I might be missing something with my side stand, have a look at the excerpt from my user manual about the side stand: ('press down side stand with the foot')...how??
  22. Just to update on this; it's running beautifully now after the carb strip and clean and proper sealing of the reed block gasket. I'm running the air screw at 2 full turns out (manual states 2 1/2 turns out) with all standard jetting and standard needle clip position and it's perfect. I still am tempted to fit some Boyeson or similar carbon reeds in there though to hopefully give it a bit more snap :-)
  23. Thanks again Dan for your help and advice
