  1. Great event! The Indiana hillbillies really enjoyed the sections/loop! Way to go Brad Howard for a strong first place. sam (Indiana bike gang leader)
  2. Craig, The Expert sections where spot on! I know 2 of the Intermediate guys sign up so they can follow there kids, they are not actually riding the event other than to enjoy the loop and abide by AMA rules. Once again, I had a blast other that staying up till 4:00 am draining gas out of my diesel truck, but the Howard brothers sure are fun to hang out with. We had a wild time!
  3. Zippy, I took a plunge in Biff's section at your trials, Robert Roosen also seen me making bubbles! Ask them about it, it was very dramatic! sam
  4. Bringing 5 enthusiastic trials riders in my rig this weekend! And remember, I'm the guy who needs a Snorkel, I will pack a mask and flotation devise, Biff was my witness! sam
  5. Update, We are up to 8 riders just from Northern, Indiana and this is there first time riding at Gary's. Craig, wish you could make it. Zippy, try your best to make it! Easy drive from Detroit I imagine, 94 to 80/90. Jim, say hi to your dog Toby for me!
  6. The last large ride at Gary's drew around 20 riders + a couple of woods bikes. After the ride we go to a famous historical pub for some great food. Biff, I'm so happy you are going to make it, maybe some of the bike gang members from Mid-Michigan will show? It is actually like Michigan's version of a trials training camp, Gary is a great instructor. Sad news, Daryl will no longer be competing on a xr80, he is now the proud owner of a GasGas321! sam
  7. Going to have a large trials ride this coming Sunday in Niles, Michigan should be between 12 and 20 riders, hope you can make it. We will meet between 10 and noon. My GPS garmin reads this address. Gary Groat 9258 Chapel Rd. Niles, Michigan 49120 Thanks. sam
  8. We have picked up a 2007 300 PRO, Would like to know how many CC's of oil go in each fork leg? Thanks. sam
  9. We had a great time! I want to say thanks to Phil for allowing us to use TI's computer scoring. Also, thanks to Biff for help on reaching out to MOTA members via internet. Once again, we where amazed how tidy everyone kept the place, no trash left about, Thank You. Ride of the weekend, Saturday section #3 first loop, little greasy, steep hill side, big log off camber for Intermediate/Senior, I was nervous, many riders struggling. Dick Debolt takes a look at the trap, hops on his bike and cleans it no problem, Awsome! Other highlights, The Howard family playing horse shoes till the middle of the night and then hanging zippy's bike 6/7 ft. in the air. Zippy and I are drinking coffee looking out the window in the morning and Biff saying, Zip is that your bike hanging there? Everyone enjoyed watching 14 yr. old Chase Harker battle 18 Experts, that kid rides good! Will be fun to watch him progress. Then, the Ironman award should be given to Jim Gwane, the guy had Knee surgery that went slightly bad over the winter, Comes back to Win on Sunday over all, great job again Jim! We had 3'' of snow on Monday! My wife and I decided to split to Florida for a 4 day get away, we are now Sun burnt and headed home. Thanks Again Everyone, Great time! sam
  10. I'm excited, taping sections tomorrow!!! Weather does not look to bad! See ya this weekend. sam
  11. Update, 20 sections done, many event workers, longer loop! I'm way ahead of last year, and actually ready to go. This event will flow! PS: I can not believe how fast that municycle vid hit the net, embarrassing! sam
  12. Phil, I think posting the parameters here on TC is the best way to reach MOTA for sign up, Biff and others can pass on the word. The sections will be totally different for Advance and Expert from last year, shorten with obstacles of less severity. Once again, If you drive a big rig please arrive on Friday night if possible, if not, call me so I can save space. Parking is on gravel base and I will provide bike wash area. With out a doubt in my mind, there will be 100 riders!
  13. Class breakdown, MOTA= TI: EXPERT = CHAMP/EXPERT ADVANCE =ADVANCE SPORTSMAN =SPORTSMAN INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR =INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR A NOVICE/VINTAGE A =NOVICE/VINTAGE/SENIOR BEGINNER/VINTAGE B YOUTH =YOUTH A YOUTH B OPEN I'm adding another piece of property, loop will be at least one mile longer. Expert and Advance sections will be much shorter, this was the main reason the event took so long on Saturday Last year. Also, we will use TI's scoring computer, this will be fun to see lap scores/standings and save time at the end of the day adding up points! I do not expect any Exhibition riders, If I'm contacted that one will show, then I will add a line for them. sam
  14. TI's SR A will be the same as MOTA SR class. TI's SR B will ride MOTA Novice line. In order to receive TI points you must also work 2 TI events.
  15. Its a up lifting post in such dreaded times, Makes me chuckle looking at the replies. My friends where stressing out over the phone, I calmly said detach the rear brake caliper and see if thy wheel turns, evidently there was a bind in the brake. Wheel is rolling free now and we are scheduled for a practice session Sunday. You GasGas guys are alright!
  16. PROBLEM SOLVED! Again, another new trials rider to the midwest! And 2 more yet looking for bikes.

    1976 Ty175 4 Stroke?

Thanks for the replys, That is exactly what I would like to do, but with maybe a xr200 engine.
  18. Silly question here! Has anyone ever placed a 4s engine in a TY 175? I have this 175 but it needs motor and exaust, I see so many XR 80 thru 200 motors on Ebay for cheap, just wonder if this has been done? sam

    2007-290-no Spark?

HAM2, Blew the dirt off the stator/fly wheel area, emery clothed the magnets lightly, reassembled. Lots of visible spark! I'm just not sure what happened? I'll give it a 1 hour test run this afternoon!

    2007-290-no Spark?

    2007-290-no Spark?

How do you tighten the fly wheel? I took it off with the impact wrench, do you give it a light zap with the impact to tighten or do you use specific torque (lbs.) settings. Hurray, I have spark! Thank You everyone for your suggestions, tomorrow I will tell the whole story.

    2007-290-no Spark?

    4. BFH and apply sharp rapid blows to any part of bike you like. Won't help at all but you will feel better. Thats the stage I'm at! I have impact wrench, will remove fly wheel soon as I find a puller or order one Monday. I have a gut feeling its a disturbed wire, I keep checking them, ground looks good!

    2007-290-no Spark?

Zippy, Fly wheel looks solid, that fly wheel nut loosens left? ARRRG! I was going to ride this weekend.

    2007-290-no Spark?

Zippy/Copemech, Spark cap looks to be fine, Flywheel key I'm not sure about. Do I need a Sherco specific flywheel puller? Do pullers from any other brands work?
