I have no right to chime in on this one but feel compeled to,I myself am checking on Gas Gas quality of the mid 90's model's,just because I don't know jack about Gassers and have found a few deals, and am thinking about buying one. But the thing I "DO" know for a fact!(non-relevant)in 04 at Spirit Mountain when Dougie lost traction and "Splattered" the wall of death,his steering stem broke!(not Montesa build quality)I was less than 10ft.away taking pics.I don't know why I just "HAD"to add.

Hi kids;I'm in the market for a mid to late 90's bike,I have been searching hi and low and "am" finding a few what seem like deals to me,I'd prefer a Beta or a Scorpa but keep coming across mid 90's Gas Gas JT-JTR's 250-270's.Can anybody give me a heads up on these models??pro's and con's ect.. A few broken links, and again outdated sites at Neott.com, I managed to get out 8 more e-mails,1 returned that the Beta had sold 3 years ago!and 4 returned (undeliverable)so far,.I figured it would take a week or two to find a bike,,thus not being the case, yet I will not be detoured from my quest.I NEED TO PUTT PUTT!!Anybody reads this and has a possibile bike for me,Please e-mail me here or doinked40@yahoo.com I have NO access to long distance. Oooops I take that back,Paynes just replied,and of course the bike I was inquiring about sold months ago,,,I wish that some site's would update more often,and thanks but usbeta has nada in my price range.

I heard that too,"Lucky" Lance,,OCC (Orange county choppers) built him one, so Gas Gas probably gave him a bike or two. Now I really hate him! (kidding)

Thanks my Brothers,I'm about e-mailed out,I've browsed hundreds of sites,(my eye's),,sent out 18 e-mails,no response yet from anyone.Now I know some are probably busy and alot that have bikes they wanna sell and don't always advertise,so I'm relying on word of mouth which somtimes works better.At this point I'm almost ready to consider a old Fantic or Aprila climber or maybe even another TY Anybody have any luck contacting Paynescyclecenter??I've mailed them 3 times in the last 60 day's,,,no response.

Cam chain Adjuster??If these are not adjusted correctly or faulty,the chain slaps against the guides Some are self adjusting,possible oil delivery problem.Hard to diagnose without hearing it,so I'm guessing.Hope this helped

I agree and dis agree,going on my experiance a 80 would get boring for a 12yr.old. When I turned 12 my first real bike was a 73 XR-75,2 months later I was stealing my brothers TM-125 every chance I got,but that's me.I recommend a Gas Gas 125!nice an lite,by the time he learns to balance it he'll have grown into it. And if he shows a lack of interest,re-sale value is great.Alot better than a ole Ty-80,don't get me wrong,I love all TY's this is just my opinion.

I sold my TY Got a hold of this guy that "HAD" a Beta 4-sale in my price range to find out he sold it the day before yesterday!!How the Hell's that happen? Howdy all;Don't know if this is the right place to post but,My Bro bought a 99 Dougie last summer,I'll disrcibe the error best I can, when it warms up it sounds like someone shaking a coffee can half full of ball berrings!Last week he tore it down and said the piston seems a tad loose,brought it and the rest to our local machine shop (their very very good)They mic'd everything and said;It's all good and in spec,can't find the cause of the rattle,I advised my Bro to order up some new rings,pin,berring,clips,He called me last night sayin he pulled the water pump and can rotate the impellar quite a bit before the shaft turns,,,????dosn't sound right to me,so he orderd up a new one. Any other ideas to what can cause the noise???????

My first post here,I ride a beat up 85 TY-250 and love her,I'm 45 years old and just starting.This is the most addicting sport EVER!I've alway's had a slight interest till my older Brother talked me into attending World Round at Spirit Mountain in 02, That's all it took!
