  1. Right, just been waiting for my mucker to get his license back from the ACU, and also been collecting the interest on the 12 quid in my bank for a bit longer !!! Will be sending the entries with my most reliable pigeon as soon as the wind is favourable. Found the directions and everything...in fact, I'm ALMOST organised. Are any of the Horsforth Massiv' going this year? By the way, to see sone pics from the Bangor World round, bob along to Horsforth Trials there's a link from the main page. Some decent pics by the looks of things. Looking forward to the main event - I've even taken an extra days hol over the Bank Holiday to recover from the bruises. Although to be fair, last year it was just the bike that ended up in bits!!!! See you all there...
  2. There'll definately be two of us along again - and maybe more (will depend on something called 'work' - never heard of it myself but apparently its a big thing these days... ) I just need to get my a*** in gear and download the regs....
  3. I witnessed a non-too dissimilar incident at a club trial a couple of years ago. One the guys brought his Mrs along with her two yound lads - the youngest of which was about 11 or 12 I guess. At the end of the trial, the aforementioned youngest was pootling about on a shiny new Rev-3 I think it was, and seemed to be OK. He attempted a small wheelie and rolled thr throttle on, at which point the bike took off like a rocket with the jockey still on board (unusual these days I know ) straight into, and right down the side of, a 3 month old VW Golf. The young fella ended up with a broken arm and badly dented pride!!! The car didn't even belong to anyone from the club - it was a family who had parked up to go for a walk in the woods!!!
  4. I did indeed - thanks Andy (and StuartC!) I still can't see it on the front page though!!! My missus always tells me I can't see past the end of my nose...which proves tricky when riding trials....
  5. I must have missed all the blurb on when the TC Trial is - can anyone fill me in or point me in the right direction? Am I too late? I really enjoyed it last year and fancy another crack at ruining the rest of me bike. I apologise if this information is posted elsewhere, but I've had a quick look and can't see anything, and as I'm at work I can't spend too long on here (hence why I don't know the info in the first place!). Much appreciated. KB. PS StuartC, have you changed you email address??
  6. Following on from the tip about the 35mm film cases, I use a similar method, but with a different measuring device. In the UK (and maybe the US too?), we can buy herbs and spices for cooking from the supermarket. The ones made by a company called Schwarz (or something like that) come in a little glass jar. If you can obtain one of these glass jars, and fill it up to the top with 2-stroke oil and add this to 5 litres, you've got a ratio of about 70:1. I've been running my Rev-3 on this for the best part of 2 years with no ill effect. I use PJ1 Silverfire as recommended by my dealer. Cheers KB.
  7. Well, I've booked my customary slot on the last two days. I've been for the last couple of years, and I can honestly say its worth it. I'm not sure I agree with Kinell though - what might appear to be an outing with the boys is very much more than that. It depends on what you have in mind when you got there. If you expect to be taught how to hop and bounce and generally do the flash stuff, then forget it. But if you want to know how to actually RIDE your bike and, more importantly, how to RIDE a section, then take the plunge. Its the small, subtle things they teach than can really help your scores and help you become a better rider. I was a below average clubman when I went, and now i'm an average clubman with loads of confidence. I was often beaten by a section before I'd even started riding it. Now, the one thing I will do is give it a go. I don't profess to be any great shakes, but likewise I'm not scared to give it a go. I've managed to finish in the top ten in the class quite a few times now. As a for instance, I ride a Rev 3, and I always rode sections in 2nd or 3rd (depending upon the nature) as I always figured 1st was too low and I'd struggle to find grip. But after last years course, I now ride everything (just about anyway) in 1st, and I can easily get up slippy, muddy climbs without losing traction. I find 1st gives me more time and control, particularly on downhills or in rocks. As I say, don't go if you think it will make you a superstar overnight - but if you enjoy riding your bike but want to get that little bit better, then do it.
  8. Tip I got from the great man himself - "Stand on it and burn it"... ...but if the muds' anything like that picture above, then forget it!!!!!
  9. Don't get this problem exactly, but I find that if I leave my bike ('01 Rev3) parked up facing downhill so the front is lower than the back, I sometimes have a nightmare getting it fired up again. It seems to flood very easily. I didn't have the same problem with my Techno I've experienced the petrol-urination problem, fixed it, then when my bike went into the dealer for a service, they unfixed if for me!!! So now, whenever I park facing downhill, I turn the fuel off. And then halfway through the next section I run dry cos I forgot to turn it back on again...... As always, BillyT is your man for this kind of stuff... KB.
  10. I got an aerosol of Foam Filter cleaner from my local dealer. You spray it all over the dirty filter, and it breaks down the sticky old oil. I think its made by PJ1. It smells like pear drop sweets Then I wash the filter out in warm soapy water - and it comes up like new. Spray it with the aerosol filter oil - I use the sprayon cos its not so heavy and therefore the bike can breathe a bit better - and Bob, as they say, is yer Uncle.

I've got an '01 Rev3 and I run PJ1 Silverfire in it, at about 70:1, and have done for the best part of 2 years, and it runs nicely. I had a '97 Techno before that for about 18 months and ran the same. KB.
