  1. I am guessing you have a Dell'orto.A 38 or 40 pilot will help.your simply trying to get to 1.5 turn on fuel screw (your most likly at 4 now if you have the stock 36).A 118 main for sea level and 116 or 114 as you get in higher altitudes. If your running a kiehin 55/120 will fix you up.If you have a Dell'orto drilling the choke jet to .80mm (.031") will let the bike cold start easy. The stock .60 does not really allow good cold starting.
  2. Did some grinding and drilling to pretty it up.
  3. After I had it fit up I did all the welding on the outside to lock shaft in(no pic of that). The frame bows out some as it goes down so I have the upper shock eyes fit as close to frame as feasible. I cut the shaft off on the inside then went deep and filled with weld.My concern was after drilling frame there was not alot of frame left and I wanted 100% weld contact with shaft and weld to frame.I may have to shim lower shock mounts out a little to make shocks perfectly parallel.
  4. I made 2 jig plates out of some scrap aluminum t-bar I had laying around.Drilled them a 340mm.I have read that just just putting the longer shocks in the stock holes makes bike real nice handling.I then left one on standard shock mount and used the one on other side of bike to mark frame.I then drilled through the tubes and slid a cold rolled shaft thrue.I marked the shaft and put it in my old harbor freight lathe and machined ends down to 12mm then tacked in place.Using the straight shaft kept everything perfectly in line.
  5. Overkill lol.Going to shave it down because I really didn't need it.
  6. About 5 mm away.I bolted on exaust to make sure there was not going to be interference before I put them on.
  7. have most of welding and repairs done.Installed a new rear right motor mount to replace the broken one.frame and swingarm will go to powdercoat shop next week for a coat of yellow.
  8. Great idea,I have fun watching all the stuff that comes up on that other forum.Going twin shock way is cool but there all cool.Thinking about snagging a old 93 Fanta karoo for under 500$ right now for my next project after I finish my ty250a.
  9. What did they change?.The only issue I am having is I have to sand mounts on bike I little as they will not slide over.
  10. Received some parts for bike and started working on it more.Real happy with the work my guy did with reboring and crank rebuild.Received my falcon shocks from Europe and pretty nice looking shocks for just over 200 bucks. These old bikes are alot of fun to work on.
  11. Fish oil pills, glucosamine, knee braces, drink alot of water.
  12. The man at the performance shop was real surprised at the quality of the crankshaft. He does not get to work on bike stuff alot as he mainly does snowmobile and marine performance engines. He was amazed at how yamaha built such a nice crank for this application. He was able to true crank to within. 0005" with ease.
  13. Engine ran but barely when I got it.Found broken piston and slightly loose rod and right main bearing. I purchased a rod kit from B&J performance and a clutch carrier bearing and a front fender.Picked up a oko 26mm carb for it also.Ordered some falcon 13.4" shocks for it today from Europe. My performance shop informed me today my crank was done and my cylinder is fit to new wossner piston so looking forward to picking that up next week.
  14. I am rebuilding a ty250a.I have only been riding trials since spring of 2018 but figured I would share my rebuild for all to injoy (or laugh at).I ride a 2015 GG txt pro but like vintage bikes. The ty250 was my 1st motorcycle I had in 1976 when my father purchased it for me.The deal was I would work in woods taking down tree's to pay him back.I had no idea it was a trials bike but rode the hell out of it.
  15. The meet in door county is about as north as they go.It is a excellent club with alot of cool people. This was my 1st summer riding trials and some of the best fun I had on 2 wheels.
  16. I am 20 miles from boarder in upper michigan.I also ride trials in door county but mostly practice at home.Join wota as it makes it more fun.
  17. We have a lot of issues here in michigan with them mainly because of weather. The main problem is the engines don't get up to temp and the pistons never quit slapping. It is terrible if you use them on jet ski,s and boats.Air cooled motors like this are a huge problem for the wisco in our conditions. I prefer to use better pistons such as vertex or wossner. The wossner was actually cheaper than the wisco for this bike.I will wait till spring to run bike in because not sure I can get a proper break in winter. Most likly will do the 5 minute run in cool down method.
  18. Sent crank and jug to stealth performance yesterday.I talked to him about the clearance and he said with the wossner it should be good but be careful on break in.Said if it was a wisco he would add a .001" because they use cheap aluminum. He builds crazy stuff and race motors for the snowmobile and high performance boats.

    No Snap!

If you end up with constant carb problems I would not fiddle with it to much. You can buy a oko flat slide from u.s dealer for 100 bucks. They are made in Taiwan(not China junk).they are a copy of kiehin flat slide carb and work better than the round mikuni. They sell them for 110$ jetted for the ty250 and other bikes.I have used 4 so far on nonstock rebuilds with success including a 96kdx200.I ordered one today for a modified 74 ty250 and spent a extra 50 for the hand polishing and a custom cable kit and was still under 200.
  20. Daa,I did not look down there. Thanks Tony.Bringing crank and jug in after holidays to have reworked.
  21. I checked there and no info on fitting I can find.My guess is .0003" but not sure. Will send them a message and see what they say.Unreal such a high quality piston does not come with any fitting specs.
  22. I just received a wossner oversize piston for my project bike.It does not have info on recommended clearance.Having no luck searching. If anyone can help me out here I would appreciate it.1974 TY250.
  23. Ass hole, you made me laugh. Yes season is sort of short but the riding is fantastic.Unfortunately not alot of trials riders up here but seems to be picking up.Upper michigan is open un less posted close so can ride almost anywhere with 36 bucks worth of trail sticker.Plus alot of state land which is cool. Most of the smaller towns allow offroad vehicles on the roads as long as we stay off the highway.I tried a trail ride on my GG but not a good trail bike.Setting a nice course in my yard for practice and trucking it to more extreme offroad riding sections.Unreal the rocks it can climb that are a bitch on my yz.
