Hi Guys.
I have just left a P.S. to say that Clive Tomkinson still makes the DMW barrel and head and he says they are in stock he all so can supply the full circle cranks, with both sizes of rod.
As you say the first Greeves barrel's were chrome plated on to the alloy bore, so were the Parkinson barrel's as fitted to the works James? Francis Barnett's of 1964-66.( reg 500 JOH.304,305,306 AKV.etc, and to the Scorpion's of the same year's.
I have found a company that will ceramic coat these alloy barrels, that is said to help engines run smoother , and help carbaration, as there is less blow by past the rings. will post more info when I have been in touch with them.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys .
Just checked out Norton-Villiers, web site.(Tel01617905277).
They have fullcircle cranks. piston's, electronic ignition, and trials gears, listed but no Alloy head and barrel,
It may be on the DMW site but I can't seem to find it? Is there any more people making square alloy barrels for Villiers engine's . Maybe the 210 kart men perhaps. I would like to know.
PS. Contacted Clive at NV through e-mail, he tells me the head and barrel are available and in stock and can be dispatched to you next day. Hope this helps.
Regards.Charlie.

Hi Guys.
The head and barrel that was on e-Bay last week was a trials barrel from a 1963 CoTTon it was a Parkinson, Developed by the late Ron Parkinson. (Same as on Micks James)
There were not that many of these trials head and barrel's made, Hence I susppect the high price.
Probably bought by someone who is building a Mick Andrews replica James.
Classic Dirt Bike to blame and all the frame builders that are now building replica James frames. So I bet the price of last weeks sale will now be the standard price of any others that come up for sale. So it was probably cheap.

Hi Guys,
All the above is right, DON'T Forget if you try to fit yourself and make a mess of it, You have got to start looking for a pair of new crankcases. The late ones with two bearings are getting few and far between, This is the problem people sell them just to make money and dont care how you fit them. I agree with the other guys Contact Alan Whitten. or may be Terry Weedy for down south.

Hi Guys.
Just playing with the idea of converting a magneto to electronic, for one of our bikes.
Was thinking of useing A " Runtronic" unit with the sensor in the mag.
As enyone performed this convertion?
Would be intrested.

Hi Guys,
I agree with what you say, buy your PVL from a man that knows, and can machine the plate and bore the rotor. IE Alan Whitton,
The trouble with me is I alway like to do the job the hard way, because it gives me more time in the shed. But thats anouther story.
I bet you'll have your's fired up before mine as well, But I am working on Six bikes at the moment And I can't remember if I have got one I can ride. are well.
Regards Charlie.

Hi guys.
Just sat the F type C15 engine on me lap (the one for the Scott Ellis Bike), and found a small set screw half way up the distributor shaft tunnel that holds the shaft in place, guess yours must be missing, or this is a mod for the "f" type engine.
hope this helps, and good luck with the build.
Ps, the PVL is a must I agree but shop around for a better price IE, Karting direct. or the new UK distributor in Cambridge, Or Alan Whitton.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Scorpa3.

Hi Guys,
Hi Scorpa 3.
Is it possible to post a map of the route the trial will be taking, last year we had a job to find most of the sections, not good for the film in the camara's, only managed to take a few of the Scottish two day winner, his father, and a few of Mick Grant. Would like to take a few more this year for my collection.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys.
I think,
Bill started his trials riding on a D1 Compitition BSA Bantam, the same time as our mate John Gleed on the same make and model.
He was the first man to ride a Works Triumph tiger cub in the Scottish,
He rode A Gold Star trials outfit , the same time as we did, with lots of Fun I might add.
And was the last compitive rider on a Semi-works B40 Bsa. A all round good bloke.

Hi guys,
Hi Fredster, Forty Five you say,
Well I would save some years on us old guys, and go straight for a good Pre-65 class bike, one that as got all the hidden bits and starts first kick, Not only will this be a joy to own, but will be an investment for the future as well.
Good luck with what ever you choose, and Welcome to some of the best bunch of Guys on the Planet.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys,
I put my bit about the show on "Classic Dirt Bike". But already got what I wanted a picture of the Walwyn Bantam,(Thanks for that) It would be good if we had a load more snaps though as I missed a load of bikes I should have looked at, Would the cost of the venue stand another day Wrighty? Its the only way I could fit in every thing at my pace. Shows the intrest in the Classic Bikes is still on the up though Dont you agree?
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys,
I thought I would update you on progress of the Scott bike,
Have got most of the frame parts ready (In T 45) to bronze weld up. I have bought a Tiger cub frame for the swinging arm and sub frame . which I have widened both by one inch without cutting.
I have also managed to sorce a C15 F type engine, less crank and some other parts , will fit forged crank and Alpha rod and bearings have sorced a new clutch from Trials Bits and have a head and barrel from a B25 of which I am considering changing there shape. PVL Igniton is sat in a box waiting for my head to get round it. Bantam rear hub is also here waiting for me to stretch it by One inch. Still have an open mind on which forks to use. Will keep you posted and post photos as work progreses.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys
I would fit an after market oil filter kit, which increases oil capacity and helps with oil cooling, and filtration,
Try Trialsbits.co.uk

Hi Guys,
I am still looking for any info on Scott's last BSA, ( the so called Otter).
I have found out that the frame was a bit of a bodge, and probably had the front and top frame tubes from an Ariel HT. I think that they may have come from a Bsa Gp scrambles frame. But i'm sure the sub frame and S/Arm was Tiger Cub widened by one inch. I'll leave it to you Guys to put me right.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys.
September 61, Bo, That's what it says on the site.
I bet the bike is sat in the back of someone's shed covered in dust and Cob web's Big "j" ,DVLA Know the last owner in 1979,
We must try and find her Guys. Colour is stated as Red so may be in origanal build.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guys.
Hi Big"J".
Thanks for putting me right again. We found it eventually then.
Did it still have the Reynolds forks fitted?
Ariel 332 EOK, is still on the DVLA site, First registration 21/09/1961. Date of liability.01/07/1979. So she could still be about.
Happy New Year
Charlie.
