So thats why Ia'm still stuck with the frame sat on the linisher waiting for him to pick it up. Friends? Pheww.

Hi Guy's
Hi Honda TLR.
Yes the Beamish frames were chrome plated, and did not break to often as they were bronze welded by Mick Whitlock, I have one at the moment that could do with re chroming as I have repaired and fitted new brackets for a different make of engine.
The problem with re-chroming apart from as stated before, the amount of polishing that needs to be done on the metal before the process can be done ,is that the old chrome need's to be taken off with the same procedure as putting the stuff on, only in reverse. This all adds up to a charge that is unaceptable for such a item. Any bit of the frame that is not 100 per cent cleaned and polished to a high degree, will show up like a sore thumb, and rust within a short time. I think the answer for you is to have the frame sand blasted and then powder coated metalic silver.
Me i still have to have the chrome plating removed first. Hope this helps a bit.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's
Hi Bant-etc,
If you are going to use a road bantam silencer, for your bike you may find that the baffles are to good , this will restrict the bikes top end ,mostly when doing long climb's the works "Red T1" and "Red T2". used these to start with, but then fitted PECO type boxes. I think Mick Bower's always used this type. hope this help's a bit.
Best Wishes for Xmas and New Year.
Regard's Charlie.

Hi Guy's
I don't thing they have had anough copies printed. Because WH Smiths in Banbury ran out of copies twice on Number 5 within a week.
The first addition twelve months ago, stoped on the shelves for weeks, I kept counting fourteen, week after week.
So it looks like the Magazine as taken off, Good New's all round I think.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's
How do you rate the Pashley 26 MHz frame. ( one to ten)
Do you think it was the best at the time is was made.
Do you think that it should now be classed as a "classic".
Do you think there should be a class for this "Classic" bike.as a one make series.
Its up to you Guy's now.
Regards.Charlie.

Hi Guys.

Hi Guys.
Hi Mick,
So you think the bike is still about and being used.
That is good news,
I was thinking that it might have been in Mr or Mrs Porsche 911's heated garage or been sold to the local scrappy.
So we still may be able to find the bike,
It's amazing what you can find out in a couple of hours if you put your mind to it.
As this is another part of trials history. It would be great if we could find out that the bike is OK.
I know that "Slinny" would be pleased, and even might add some more to the story.
Thanks Guy's for your input so far.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys.
Just set me thinking about taking the Briggs and Stratton out of me rotovator and putting into a spare Bantam frame, make a good bike for Pre-65 Scottish don't you think.

Hi Guys,
Hi Pat.
It's nice to know, we now have some one who knows about BSA Compitition bikes from the horses mouth, to coin a phrase.
The questions are coming into my head as I write.
Thanks again for the information you have given us so far Pat.
Regards. Charlie.

Hi Guys.
For some reason I clicked into “classic trials” last week just to see if there was any thing interesting. Only to find a new post by new member “Slinny”,
I started to read the post, and within a couple of lines was amazed at what I was reading. I have this year steadily worked on the Scott Ellis bike when I have managed to find the parts needed on e-Bay, and not been working on other bikes or doing proper work. The frame was finished by last Easter, the back hub widened by one inch and skimmed along with the front Bantam hub, and I even skimmed the oversize brake shoes that I got from Mick Ash.
The swinging arm was sorted with the help of nearly a bottle of gas. And even fitted with the chain guard that I made. Thought hard and long and disided to fit a oil filter while I had the chance as this will be covered by Scott Ellis type plastic(vinyl car roof covering from the right period has I have a roll left over) cover when the bike is finished.
The stumbling block as been the bits for the engine and gear box, the trouble being there was not many of the type “F” engines made, but have three parts of the bits for both now. I had bought a alloy loaf type BSA tank for the bike, but looking at more pic

Hi Pat,
It Is you, your name came into my head as I was reading about your bike, so typed in Pat Slinn in Google, and bingo, it brought me back here so to speak.
Ross Winwood joined our merry band afew weeks ago. Look down .List " Introduce Yourself". and you will find "Winwood bikes where are thet now". check it out.
Did you ride passenger with Mick Bowers once in our Old Ariel outfit? I was passenger for "Banbury Dan" Shorey for several years.
Regards. Charlie
PS take a look at "GOV 132 IS LOST" in Pre65 bike's. should be of intrest to you.

Hi Guys,
Hi Slinny.
Great Post, With several answers to questions that I have been asking for, for twelve months,
(Would love to see some pictures of bike)
You see I am in the process of building a replica of Scott Ellis's last works C15. BOK 228C with the Ariel type frame (Otter).
Look at forum "BOK 228C IS LOST", and needed side shots an information, about this bike. to get it as near as I can remember.
You Have been a great help, with that bit of info thanks.
PS Was Mick Bowers, in the same shop at the time?seems to ring a bell.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys.
Hi O.T.F.
You sure did a good job on your B 40 clutch,It's the lightest action that I've found.
Mind you, give you credit, that every job you did on that bike was brilliant,You must have spent hours on it.
"Simple Mod that works" and with as you say adjustment. Am about to do simular mod to the other bikes.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys.
I hope he never bumps into a Pre65er or they may put his center of gravity higher.
What was that word Pillock, Can't get the staff now-er-days can you?
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guys,
Hi "Rock"
Yes the one up the road from me has a duplex frame, but I seem to remember it is painted black, Ross is the only one who would know how many bikes they, built, perhaps he will reply.
Certainly an intresting topic,
Regards Charlie.
-
Did they all feature alloy frames or were there any more conventional ones built. Also, were they all trials bikes?
Hi Guys.
Hi "Rock"
No the Winwood boys, also built some tubular framed bikes, one lives just up the road from me. they also built some grasstrack bikes as well that were very sort after, these to were fitted with C15 engines.
Regards Charlie.
