  1. Hi Guy's Hi Colin. take a look at the Greeves web site, and I seem to remember that Norton -Villiers up north do a DOT barrel as well. Hope this Helps. Regard's Charlie.
  2. Hi Guy's. I should not think that the frame jig that Alan's Wright's,, frames come off of is bent as the frame builder concerned, has been building frames for Donkey's years, or should I say Wasp's. Regards Charlie.
  3. Hi Guy's. Hi John. Just had a look in one of my books on BSA unit singles, and thought I was right. You need a plate 2.11.mm ( or just over 1/16 of an inch)on a B44 to give you an 8 to 1 comprestion ratio, if you want 6 to 1 you will need nearly 3mm.as on a B50. I would sugest using copper to make the plate out of. "Mr BSA", Pat Slinn, is your man for any tuning tips, etc. Should be an intresting project to get right. Regard's Charlie.
  4. Hi Guy's, Yes my friend from the BSA competition shop said there was a victor prior to 1965, and as they are the same design as a C15 there is no problem in most cases. The seat tubes need pulling in to make for a better ride ,footrest positions need putting further back. and comprestion needs lowering on the engine. also gearing realy needs to be changed to wide ratio. then there are the tires etc to sort. These are just a few things off the top of my head. but it should make a good trials bike. Regards Charlie.
  5. Hi Guy's Hi MCM. Try trialsbits.co.uk. for your screws and other C15 Bits Amanda is most helpfull. I you have any more problems with the build, just post them on here ,and ia'm sure some of us will be able to help out. Regard's Charlie.
  6. Hi Guy's Yes Alan's yer man and I think he makes standard, wide, and wider. but you will have to check. But they are very well engineered, just check out the detail. Anything lighter may well brake (Get It). Regard's Charlie
  7. Hi Guy's Hi Dave ,Good man it dosn't matter how you do the job as long as you get it done, and see the job out to the end. Bet you are proud of the bike as well. You should be able to find a ride around you without a lot of trouble, without even thinking about the yokes. Put a set of ribbed gaters on the fork's then they never look as modern. Hope the bike goes well. Regard's Charlie.
  8. Hi Guy's Like the bike's alot, Martins frame is a bit like a Walwyn that we had built here in the late sixties. As for Pre 65 rules they are stretched to bursting point every where. Regard's Charlie.
  9. Hi Guy's Hi Paul. I think the main reason for lack of entries , last year and this, has been the weather Rain, rain and more rain. some clubs the Gods have smiled upon, like the Stratford club both days of there two trials have been good, But clubs putting on a lot more trials are going to get a lot more bad weather. And if you are the wrong side of say, fourty your joints dont want to get wet all the time, and the wife will go off on one, if you come home covered in mud and leave a muddy trail up the drive to the garage. On a more senceable note I think clubs need to have more social evenings at pubs or clubs with the chance to talk bikes, and fill in entry forms for the next trial, bring along a mate get him or her intrested, flog them a bike add to the numbers, only writing this as it is w##ing it down outside. Regard's Charlie.
  10. Hi Guy's Hi "Big "J" Am I right in thinking your New bike for the Pre65 Scottish has a GB B40 engine. I have a Guy from Aus, that would like to compete , and I have offered him the use of our B40 which has a GB engine fitted, and frame modified like the 1964 production C15T's, forks and wheels are from the WD B40, BSA loaf tank fitted, the only outside Mod is a Triumph alloy back brake plate. Do you think this bike would be OK for him to enter on? Regard's Charlie.
  11. Hi Guy's Just cleaned a grotty Ariel Leader Alloy hub with Cillit Bang, Both types with wire wool and albo? grease. Two hours later the hub is like new. PS NO Connection with Reckitt Benckiser. Regard's Charlie.
  12. Hi Guy's Hi Dave , You Could also get the same kit from trialsbits.co.uk as they now have them back in stock. Regards Charlie.
  13. Hi Guy's I can report that the first day of the event went well (yesterday) despite the weather , and there was more intrest in the Pre 65 Bikes than there was in the modern stuff. Lee tells me that the "TC Cub," and "OTF" as the B40 is now named, were much admired. Ps, (she loves her new home Paul). you must pop down and visit her. Banbury OK. "Bretch Hill" now nearly up market . Will try to get to meet you when your down Andy. Regards Charlie.

  15. Hi Guy's You know building trials bikes is a lot easier than messing with computors although I Love both. Idon't know though, seven hours to make a chain tensioner, and three hours fighting Firefox. About the same then? hope the photos come up now. Regards Charlie.
  16. Hi Guy's Hi HL, I know every one on your commitee is doing there job. But I just thought the topic should be kept to the fore, so will mention it now and then, as people forget as soon as the Headlines fade. And I'm sure the answer is out there some where. And If you need help just shout to us all. Kind Regard's Charlie.
  17. Hi Guy's Hi Pitley. Just realised, I have just sent your old Ariel HT frame off to the powder coaters to be finnished in as close a shade to Ariel maroon as we can get. I spent a week referbing the frame and putting it back in to it's original condition. Bartram frame I think? Also modified a Ariel swinging arm to suit. The frame is to be used to house our 410 cc pre production engine for testing. And will be fitted with Ariel Leader hubs. Will put some photos of the bike on as soon as I start to put her together. May be one day you can pop over and have a ride on the old girl. Regard's Charlie.
  18. Hi Guy's It as been some time now, and I just wondered if there was any new information on progress made to retifie the situation, as the year seems to be slipping by quickly. Regards Charlie.
  19. Hi Guy's. Hi Dave. Thanks mate for the pictures, Now no trials rider worth his salt can not say that the site of that bike does not make his blood stir. What a Superb machine, you must be filled with pride building something like that. Just a shame you could not get to ride it. Regard's Charlie.
  20. Hi Guy's, Hi Dave, Are you going to put some pictures on of your newly finished Ariel, I am sure we all would like a look. Regards Charlie.
