  1. As I suspected that would be a no then?
  2. Money money money, its always money, thats how the rich stay rich, there comes a point when every company has to make a buck and sell some stuff do so. It's a commercial reality.
  3. Bring your bars forward or youll hate it in thirty seconds.
  4. Many of my compatriots ride Montesa. I like the build quality, but they are weighty beasts, and that 4 stroke yanking you into corners is too hard to deal with. So Why are Montesa riders so resistant to change? Is there some big secret that the rest of us just dont get?
  5. I am thinking of changing my trials bike from the Ossa 280i to the Beta Evo 250. My principle reason for change is the inability to tune or service the bike myself, as I do not have the codes and PC maps nor the ability to use them should they be obtainable and available for Mac. I get good service from my dealer but he's along way away and is often unavailable as it is not his principle source of income. He does do his absolute best for me but I often find myself waiting long periods. I am happy with the bike generally, but on a few occasions I have had doubts a long way from home. Ive ridden the 125 and the 200 and the 07 250 and liked them very much indeed. the balance and steering geometry is exceptional. I have heard the 2014 will also be FI, and I don't want that as it wont change my major problem, inability to service it with a screwdriver and an ear. Thoughts?
  6. I want to reduce the size of the spread to the grips and levers. As this is really tiring on a full days riding. The system is AJP anyone know who makes an Ossa green AJP short lever for clutch and brake? Scorpatic
  7. Loaded Map 13 and the bike is terrific. so happy. Then I broke the gearbox on a rock. I think I smacked the end of the shift and it broke a pawl apparently. was able to finish the trial in 1st and 2nd but am having it fixed now. Anyone else done something similar?

Anyone else noticed that there is a lot of fine metal in the oil? I have changed the oil 7 maybe eight times since new, its at 35 hours now and every time it is black.

I've had a couple of issues that most seem to have experienced, (2011 model) light drag on the clutch, difficulty locating neutral, but the worst of it has been the starting issue. It has been difficult for a while and recently graduated to impossible. It was probably my own fault, my plugs were oiling up with a very high quality synthetic 2t oil and i thought a race fuel might help the mix. so mixed up some 107 which i had with Castrol Power1 TTS racing 2T oil, fully synthetic as recommended in the handbook. Impossible to start, but when run down hill and rolled up it went like a dream. but restarting failed. Eventually drained it all out and replaced it with 95 octane and semi synthetic 2T. it still would not rev out smoothly after a plug change. Back to the workshop and it has now been given the map 13 and apparently cannot be faulted. time will tell. the bike is a magnificent piece of work, tractable, biddable, powerful, light, and pretty, and in spite of massive urging by my brother I will not be getting rid of it anytime soon. I am running dexron III ATF because I change it after every second or third trial. My bike is now at 34 hours after a year. I have to say the service I get from my dealer/mechanic has been amazing and i have a gut feeling we have gotten to the bottom of it now.

Well that was better. Came top of the Clubman numbers on Sunday. Bit happy.
  12. Wish I could change my login name to Ossatic though!
  13. Ok getting a bit better at it now. I was astonished that the kick start whacked into the foot peg, but by following the above advice, from Peter B and wearing boots and standing on the pegs the angle seems better. It is getting easier as it loosens up and it is just a dream to ride. It is everything I ever wanted a trials bike to be. Light tractable, quick, smooth, responsive and did I mention light? Absolutely loving it.
  14. I have just become the owner of a new Ossa 280. I have coveted this bike for many months and its finally a reality. But I just cannot start it. Others have. But I seem unable to find the trick to it. Can anyone help me. My soles are bruised and battered and the bike sits looking like a bitchy virgin on her wedding night. Help me.
