  1. I had a SY20F for two years, I also have a TRide. There is a simple solution to the hot exhaust pipe issue wrap the exhaust pipe under the carb with a good quality exhaust wrap & paint with High Silicone Paint. I used DEi. Had the same wrap on there for the two years mud, water, pressure cleaning & all. I do the same on the TRide. Never had an issue. Big issue I see with the SY250f is oil capacity & cooling the Tride has that sussed with an external oil tank on the level of the sump. It would be easy to do on the SY250F if necessary. 2. And for those who do not have Eurosport (I suppose I am in the minority) FIM TV has it for 3 euros. Watched Marseille this way & it was very good! Just another method... Cheers LOONAL
  3. 200 all the way. I have no idea why TMX did the 200 down. We have had one for the last few months & it has plenty of smooth usable power. No surprises & does what is asked of it. What is great as well is you can wind it up in 3rd & it drives, but does not throw you off the back or spin big holes. Pulls 210 lbs of me about no trouble! We have had a 10 front & 11 front sprocket on it. The missus likes the 11 as it is less revvy pulling her about & I like the 10 so I can use the rev range more. We rode a 125, but seemed all revs to us. So 200 is the way I would go time & again. But as per usual its best to get out on one & have a go... I have come to the conclusion what is good for the gander is NOT always good for the goose so its really what suits you. LOONAL LOONAL
  4. Forcefield is without doubt the best. They sell boarding & horse riding gear too. She who must be obeyed & I have always used this kit both grasstrack racing & trials. I use the knees & the shorts & the missus uses the back protector as well since she cracked a vertebrae. The kit moulds to the body & breathes. You hardly know you have it on even on hot days. I really have nothing to do with the company just too many years of use, both on & off the bikes!!!

  6. Guys just to let you know there are bike thieves in the Watford & Hemel area. They are apparently targeting small bikes, including trials bikes. I was lucky the missus thought a door was flapping in the wind & went out to investigate to be confronted by two scroates, one with an iron bar in the garage. She asked what they were doing???!!! & after she tried to lock them in they pushed her out of the way they ran off closely followed by a silly bugger in his pyjamas welding a three foot extension bar. Just lucky the police found me before I found the scroates!!!!

    Scorpa T Ride

I have done a couple of hare & hounds & a TRide did the Tough One. So I suppose they would do an enduro. They have less suspension than an Enduro bike they so I presume would not cope with really fast going so well. BUT if its wet & tight, they are a weapon!!!, particularly if the event calls for trials tyres... Cheers LOONAL

    Scorpa T Ride

We get about 135/145 KM depending on going, without reserve. Reserve is about 30km. We have a tank bag that fits in an extra 2 liters per bike so we look at about 180 all offroad. Loonal

    Scorpa T Ride

We have two TRides. His & hers... We have hade them for about 18 months now & they are very good trail machines. They are NOT enduro machines, neither are their trials machines they are a genuine half way point. As a trail bike I think there is little to beat them in terms of ease of ride, reliability & weight. They can cope with almost everything we have ever thrown at them & that includes six week trips off road in the Pyrenees. I have used mine in a couple of the ACU Trail Bike rounds & found the TRide to be great. Is it as good a some of the
  10. Thanks Andy. Found one in St. Julia from the Tourist Office. I look forward to the run you recommend!!!! Cheers LOONAL
  11. Anybody got any suggestions for a half decent camp site (tent) in Sant Julia de Loria Andorra, for the world round on 28/6/09? First time we have gone abroard for a round so looking foward to it. Cheers LOONAL
  12. I saw that... I would have given him a clean for GREAT artistic impression. His gentle lowering whilst attached to the tree was an absolute classic. Well done Dougie great couple of days!!! LOONAL

    250f

Hey at the end of the day it is horses for courses. As everyone will tell you try before you buy. I bought my 2008 250F off a guy who could not get on with it, last September. I loved it & I hated it, but I love it again now. It takes some getting used too, but like anything you will get used to it if you want too, it is a head thing! I played around with the carburettor a little, went up one on the pilot & weakened off on the needle. I moved the bars & the footrests back, but will probably put the footrests back to the forward position in the summer. I have had absolutely no problems with it. I use it every weekend & am very happy with it. I am no expert wheelie bounce hop hop, so the fact it is planted & sure suits me fine. Interestingly from the videos I
  14. Please beware, unless things have changed, the ECU upgrade was an essential part of the de-restriction process. The exhaust & air box modifications just did not work properly without the ECU change. The bike ran very weak & got so hot! From what we saw on the dyno I would suspect the ECU modification is more than just a raising of the 10,000 rpm limit, I think it is an complete ignition map change. I am not sure on the WRF Scorpa ECU question, but I was led to believe the ECU on the Scorpa is Italian so I would assume there would be a connector problem at the very least. The throttle tube is a fast action domino, with a new longer throttle cable that I made up. The fast action trials throttle has a longer pull than standard. Hope that helps LOONAL
  15. It is not a hopping & skipping for a few reasons. The biggest is me & the missus can
  16. Had a TRide since May 2008. I had a few teething issues on the carburetion front & so got a local tuning firm
  17. The missus rides a 163cc Scorpa. It is a great little bike that does not bite back, but finds grip where other fail! No, it is not a hop & skip bike, but a great novice bike that drives where you point it, without any fuss. It thrives on being bossed about & plenty of throttle at the correct moment. Never had any mechanical issues with it in the 18 months we have owned it other than consumables. It is still on the same chain, sprockets & plug, but I have changed wheel & head bearings. N.B. it does get used almost every weekend in either a practice or a trial. Change the oil regularly, check the tappets once in a while & blow out the carb jets regularly (some of the jets are so small they get blocked & ruin the smoothe running) & the bike purrs like a cat. On the strength of this little bike I bought a Scorpa 250FR & that is the same, but with more power, I love it!! LOONAL
  18. Just back from a six weeks European trip with two TRides. Both bikes did not miss a beat & were great! We followed European place recommendations suggested by Trail Bike Magazine. (More of that in another post) It took a few real good rides to learn about them & the six weeks to work out their soul. Both bikes we derestricted: ECU modified, air box opened, larger main jet & exhaust restrictor removed. I made up slow action throttles for the bikes using a domino fast action trials throttles, as I enjoy the ability for more precise feeling

    Beta 4t

Thinking of buying a 2008 Beta 4T. Just like some information on living with the bike. Are the tappets easy to adjust? Outside of the normal maintenance & oil changes are there any things to watch out for or maintain regularly. Anyone had any big problems? Cheers in anticipation...
  22. There has been a result!!! The dealer has dropped his demand for
  23. Yes, but I think you miss the point. Surely a deal is a deal. I suppose it is an honour thing. If something is agreed then surely it should be honoured? What a world we would live in if we had did not have the constraint of morality
  24. I did contact trading standards & they said "breach of contract"... When I mentioned "breach of contract" to the dealer he said; take me to court then! When I sugeested that if he delivered the bike when he originally said he would (January) then the Euro may not have been a problem. When he calmed down a little he said he will see if he can work something out with the importer. Whats annoying is this is a very large reputable dealer who I had heard only good things about. Still I suppose almost everybody is feeling the pinch.
