  1. CP, for general purpose / part time welding get your self a MIG welder. With different wire/gas for the machine you can weld both mild steel and alli. get your self a proper mig welder, not the "no gas" types, when requiring to weld alli thee can get a small bottle of gas for about
  2. The Yorkshire centre rules are NOT "non stop" it is up to each individual club as to which rules they run! Go on TELECAT, spill the beans and tell us the "Dictators" !!!
  3. To enter any trial under the ACU banner you must be a member of an ACU affiliated club firstly, (to get your ACU affiliation signed) you then become, a member of the ACU. on payment of yer 10 quid per year. It is necessary for insurace purposes, what would happen if we all rode round with no cover at all? What would happen if you got injured/injured another competitor/official? There are benefits from being an ACU member that can far outweight the

At our trial on 5th Dec this year we had a few strokers present, now I am NOT pointing the blame at them, however we had the 1st complaint about noise in 20 years and more at this venue. Only 3/4 houses within 3 miles. The venue is used EVERY weekend by trials folk practising !!! It has been used like that for umpteen years. Read from that what you will, the physics don't really come into it. It is what Mr & Mrs Anybody at No 3 hears, THAT is what comes into the equation !!!!
  12. Again another one to take to your club meetings and ask them to go to centres, those who are saying so & so should have got it, DID YOU VOICE YOUR OPINION EARLIER? The ACU has the say, YOU are the ACU. I am not expressing any opinion about the winner or nominees here.
  13. Ish, over 60% clubmen riders today they gave the answer. so that is what the clubmen want. Most dont mind the 1 for a stop, but to get most of the way thro a section and get a 5 only 1 yard from ends they HATE Today was a trial in 2 ways, see what the riders want, see how it went. The riders said what they wanted
  14. Well, to all those that gave us "no chance" the day went REALLY well, and a great positive response from both riders and observers. I took a poll from most of the riders after laps 1/2 when I could catch them. RESULT FOR FIM "type" rules 54 AGAINST ( ACU TSR22/22A ) 7 ABSTENSIONS (??????) 1 No co-ersion, just the question "Which rules would you like to ride trials under?" The results speak for themselves. A good few put the point that how can the British hope to compete at world level when they dont normaly get the chance, and that point did NOT always come from the younger or may I say capable end! Some sections were VERY slippy, however that is situation normal for Howden Wood, even in the summer !! The time limit never even came into the equation and could be monitored by 1 observer per section with a stopwatch with time limit alarm. Thank you to all that had faith in BDMC who came and rode, observed, spectated. I and the club was really pleased with today, the weather was good, the sections spot on, (but I have to say that) and the feedback BRILLIANT. As for the FIM rules if you want the change, and it ishould be up to the riders, get to your clubs/centres and ask for the change. If you dont ask you dont get they say !!!! Stuart waiting for the mortars :-)
  15. The warmest Xmas Day up there for a long time! Good sections laid out, well I think so, steady away for the clubmen, a couple of tricky ones for the hard course lads. Any lads that are riding the club/acu would appreciate your feedback, GOOD OR BAD, Please do let us know. Have a good day Stuart
  16. Gone quiet, fully expected somebody to tell me I was wrong !!!
  17. I think it is a bit on the pricey side but may help folk who never use them "on road" or maybe kids bikes, folk who dont have a bike licence etc. Happy Christmas all. Stu
  18. The ACU can now offer "off track" insurance cover for your bike: SEE: http://www.acu.org.uk/Admin/News03/PDFS/3401.pdf or www.acu.org.co.uk insurance_bike.pdf
  19. Is it true that the "factory" lads have different chips for the ingnition/engine management for differing type of events? I know that ECU mapping can make a BIG difference in road going vehicles, cars, etc. My car has 3 settings and it DOES make a difference, and its a DIESEL
  20. Isn't Wellingboro' in Northamptonshire :
  21. Please let me put an end to all the speculation about insurance, type of course etc. 1, WE (the club) ARE FULLY INSURED via the ACU, the insurer's Alexander Forbes have OK'd it, after all we did ask the ACU, BEFORE even going to the planning stage. 2, The riders are FULLY INSURED for the same reasons. 3, We do NOT need a FIM Steward, CoC, or any other FIM officials. (the trial is run under FIM rules, ie MARKING, NOT FIM REGULATIONS!) 4, The clubman's course will be just that, a nice steady ride that will cover most clubmans abilities. You are riding to ENJOY yourself. 5, The "Hard" course will be taxing, especially if you have had a good Christmas Day. Eve, Night! Remember a "Hard" course is HARD/DIFFICULT. The whole trial will be given a time limit, 4hrs, sections will be laid out to allow the majority of riders to complete them in plenty of time. I would like to thank the many previous posters to this topic for giving both the Bradford & District Motor Club and the Boxing Day Trial such publicity, it has certainly got people talking both on the board and locally ! Remember the trial is also a fund raising event for Martin House Hospice For Children. www.martinhouse.org.uk Their motto: IF ONLY ALL WISHES CAME TRUE.... I wish. Happy Christmas to all, and a better Boxing Day. Come along, have a ride, few places left, if not riding come and have a look. 1st Club trial of 2005 is NEW YEARS DAY. Stuart :santawink: :madsanta:
