Can somebody telll me what this means?
-
Telecat,
A trial may get mis-labelled, as you put it in the "press" , on websites etc, however if you read the REGS it will tell you exactly the status of the trial.
-
What about Sir J Isherwood, aint e of the US trials community these days
-
Telecat, you aint never made a mistake then?
Noticed you have not applied for your refund for KIlnsey !
-
Telecat,
Regarding Hawkstone, you are right in a way, we are organising the officials and a few other "small" jobs. (That are on a BIG list) We are not organising the whole trial.
That is down to Jake and Martin. (we are NOT professionals)
How can a club propose and second an ammendment to the Centre rules?
As for leaving "another club's official out on a limb" that needs more clarification!
As for "cheesing" any body/any club that is not my or the clubs intention. All we want to do is look after the sport and enable growth.
Seems you have a downer on BDMC, you did not like the way we ran the Boxing Day trial, you stated we could NOT run it legally, WE DID, (would you like to read the poll taken re scoring rules?) you did not enjoy the KIlnsey trial, yes the sections did turn out to be a bit tough. however only 1 section was not cleaned.
"I" will glady refund your entry fee for the KIlnsey trial, just remind me of your rider number ! (not too hard to work out) :-)
I and the club could always do with some help section plotting, flag making, regs printing/distributing. visits to land owners, planning permission, banking, answering the phone at midnight, liasing with the ACU, YDNP, English Hertitage, DEFRA, instructing riders how to fill in entry forms, telling them which course they should ride, chasing bounced cheques, collecting litter, car park duties, working out the scores, changing some riders nappies etc, so please do come along and help sometime.
You will be most welcome as you don't wish to ride our trials!
You may not want to ride Sunday so why not help out by observing?
As you WELL know we are not a "professional" club, just the same as clubs all over the country/world, just normal folk who DO have other things in their life such as work and family to think of.
As for not liking bad publicity, nobody really does, however I aint seen none yet. Riders have a bad day and its a cr*p trial, riders have a good day and its a brilliant trial. Sunshine: Great Trial, Rain/Cold: bl**dy awful trial!
Should you wish to contact me with any complaints/comments please feel free to do so.
My tel number and address is in the Yorkshire Centre Handbook.
I myself do not ride but am involved with the sport because I want to, because I ENJOY it, comments like yours can only put off people who may be thinking of getting involved in the organisation side of things from "trying" to help.
It is hard enough to get new commited members to help with the organising side of things without comments like yours.
As I have said contact me if you so wish, to try and help get the "BAD Bradford" out of your system!

The new SportMoto mag needs news etc from the centres/clubs to get into the mag. My own club has an article in this issue as I took the time to send it in.
As far as I am aware ALL clubs in the ACU were asked.
I'm sure now it has been released there will be more news on trials events and forthcoming events in future issues.
It is up to the clubs/centred to get their news etc in to the editorial staff.
If you don't send in articles/news how can it be publicised?
Even individual articles may be published, give it a try.
As for the cost, not sure about that, seems a little costly to me.

Ginger, you can't use a bike rack with a "Swan Neck" towbar, has to be a British Std 2 bolt towball type.
You can if you wish unbolt the neck when not in use as the electrics socket is part of the main cross bar.
Be it swan neck or BS all type approved towbars fit to the same mounting points as per EU94/20, just the neck style is different.

My name is Nick Clayton, and I sit on the Wakefield district council's local land access forum. Currently i am representing the views of offroad drivers and trail bike riders on the committee and as a group we advise the council on the strategic aims for local access to the rights of way in the district.
We are currently setting up some focus groups representing each specific area of users (walkers, riders, motor vehicle, disabled etc) and we require some help. Would you be able to ask your members if any of them live in the Wakefield district and would be willing to take part in the focus group. The group for trail riders and 4x4 drivers will be held on the 2nd or 3rd weekend of April and will last approximately 1-2 hours. The focus group will discuss the various problems and solutions they encounter when trying to access the rights of way network in the area and these views / recommendations will go towards formulating a strategic plan in line with DEFRA publications for the Wakefield council to adopt.
This is a real chance for trail riders and other users of the network to have an impact on the way Wakefield district council implement rights of way issues and any help from the trail riders groups would be very much appreciated.
kind regards
Nick Clayton

Aye, lots of French people about more than likely.

Any club promoting an event like this with all the red tape and bu** cra* that goes with it could only make a "few" quid with a BIG crowd, great weather, 1000's of folk paying on the gate, paid for programme, car park and a WHOLE LOT OF LUCK etc.
Clubs are run by volunteers, most who have jobs to go to 5/6 days a week.
Where would they get the time to find sponsors, arrange publicity, planning and the REST that nobody thinks of.
There are so many rules and regulations covering an event like this you would not believe unless you have done it or have been/am involved. I am not only talking ACU / FIM, but also health & safety, public health, planning etc.
SO JUST GET THA TICKETS BOUGHT, ENJOY THE WEEKEND.
I will

The rounds that were held in Bangor were HEAVILY subsidised by the Town Council and Tourist Board. Same for the IOM.
There has been no mainland UK round for a while as it costs a bl**dy FORTUNE to put on an event like this and the circuit / landowners want a good deal out of it!
If you have a good venue suitable for a WTC try asking YOUR local council for a subsidy!
Bet I know the answer! The same as you will get from the National Lottery, UK Sports Council, and others.
You will get a question: "What is motorcycle trials"?
Oh that's a minority sport, and we have the tiddly winks championship arranged for that week
Sorry but the other week you wanted is taken up with the GB Knell & Spur championship.
So to end it, go and ask your local club if they would be interested in putting on a WTC round on the UK mainland. Bet I know that answer too.
I doubt ANY UK mainland club could afford to sign up to promote a WTC round.

I can't believe you wrote that Brian,

Shame for Liam Walker, 13 time penalties, was there lots of queing or what??

The manufacturers have known about the EU ruling since the year 2000, they should have been producing more 125s long ago.
It is NOT an ACU rule but a Europe wide rule. The ACU just have to conform, as will the AMCA and others I would have thought.
-
Bloody el did not know that, mi VW wont go slower than 75 in 5th , when it sees a clear road
Must get a copy of Highway Code to check it out.
When did this law/rule come in?
-
