if you cant afford a recent mont i would consider a good 05 06 07 mont in good condition, lads who have owned other makes of 4 strokes tell me the monts are streets ahead
i reckon scarborough club did a really good job with this trial, car park areas were filling up nicely ,weather was kind, and good work has been done building btc sections.
yes i reckon doug will do well on the beta, dont get me wrong the mont 4 stroke is a good bike , but a new challenge might get the best out of him ,bet hes looking forward to it.
i was thinking of buying a good used 300 pro, however i have chance of agood 04 raga replica 300,iknow from reading previous posts that in standard raga ignition setting that this machine is too fierce for most riders of less than expert level ,if the ignition setting on the raga bike was set to the mildest level am i right in thinking the bike would ride similar to a standard 300 pro?.i realise that the raga has a longer tailpipe and kehien carb but are there any other engine mods?. cheers!
could anyone advise me , do gas gas still do oversise pistons i.e a,b,c,d etc as my mates bike has developed a rattle and lack of torque at low revs.It definately needs freshening up a bit, any help would be appreciated .
done the same on my mont acouple of years ago ,all i did was take disc off wheel put it on a solid flat surface and give it a very carefull cleanup with a fine grad emery paper. I also noticed that on closer inspection some of the gouges were actually metal added by the backing plate !. at any rate iwould say that the pads don't wear any faster than before and the disc smoothes out when bike is ridden.
i have just read birks report on the new mont.I have to say that engine apart this is a bit dissapointing in terms of progression ie brake pedal etc.however it does not pay to change too much all at one go as other manufacturers have found in the past.!!
