  1. Took one in PX in 1982 Sat there for a while at the back of the workshop Used it in a few club trials for a laugh Then it dropped a valve Then I rebuilt it Then when me Lad was wobbling about on a TY 80 I rode it in 'Classic' events But it was too new!! for Classics but it gave me a ride! Then it lounged in a couple of sheds whislt I moved house once or twice Then I was out of the motorbike game I don't know why really but I hung on to the thing Kinda fun to ride but not competitive! Rebuilt it again in 93! I think Clewsey only made about a hundred of them Nice to look at! Eventually, cos me shed was full last year an me bank balance wasn't Stuck it on e bay and it went to Barcelona!!

    Works Kawa

Melted down for Salmon tins probably! Yep, Don, Mark and Richie tried to campaign them. Well, not the 450's maybe. But the KT 250 never took off. Never 'felt' right somehow. Other bikes at the time were more competitive, no dearer to buy and easier to get bits for. Well, thats My memories of the bike. Looked good though!!
  3. Trickey beggars to ride. See, at the time there were produced the Trials job was changing. Average bod would be better of with a TY 250 But in the right hands a proper tool 'Pretty' too as Dan said. Plus a nice piece of Jap engineering
  4. [quote Thanks for the info, forgot to mention, I'm based in the Holywell area, so not very far from you txt..... Cheers Steve Blimey, small world used to live round there! Used to go up the B5121 to the A541 cross that towards Llangynhafal and such places. Wiggle about all those little roads towards the A525 Denbigh /Ruthin road cross that and find bits of places to practice between Nantglyn / Gyffylliog and Bontuchell. From memory the Wrexham club and Lads from round there practice at a place called Ffrydd or Ffrith on the B5101 North West of Wrexham. Think I would just go an Enter the nearest next event. Join the Club and have a go. Just do the easy route. Then ask around afterwards, peeps will know the practice areas. Don't matter what level you are at. Once you stick your toe in the water it just gets better! If I was still in your area I would have a ride out and find somewhere you think might do and then approach the Farmer/ Landowner. Amazing what can be had for a case of booze these days! My Son has found a few places by Us. But it's around Anglesey. Aha! just noticed You are close to TX_280, get together You Guys. It's great practicing together. Go for it Steve Cheers K
  5. Hi Soloman, Yep yer not wrong its flippen cold here at the Mo! Check out the Colwyn Club, The Denbigh and Mold, Wrexham and Bro Cader. Depends, where abouts are You in North Wales ref somewhere to practice etc.? Must admit, I,m a bit out of touch, not ridden for a long time. Just connected to this Forum to check things out myself. You should be able to pick up Trials and Motocross news at yer local Tescos or somewhere. This will give news of events locally too. The Colwyn club (which I was a member of way back) runs good events but the websight seems down. Anyone know why? Oops, just re read, you've been playing about between Ruthin and Bala. Oswestry club too if your based down that bit of the World. Bro Cader events then could be a starter for you. Trials is nice and slow so you won't hurt yourself anymore! Snigger Snigger!!! Good luck!
  6. Brilliant Thread. Brought back loads of Memories. Thanks Guys for the Vids and stuff. Flippen Great!
  7. I can confirm that. They weren't as good as the Bulty. In fact I still have a 350 CCM in me shed, the 4 stroke that is. Took it part exchange in 81 when I was a Bulty (amongst other things) dealer. It sat about for a bit then I used it in a few Centre events. It dropped a valve so it sat about a bit more. I totally restored the bike in 87. By then it was in no mans land. No good for Centre events and too new for pre 65 and a bit of a handfull anyway. So I used a TLR250! Cept the 81 Manx, used a Fantic 200. Rode around a bit with a certain Mr Jeffries who COULD ride the 350 CCM! Rode it in the early 90's in pre 65 events. Just for the ride. Cos the sections were suitable not hunting for pots! Anyway tiss a bit sad again and needs another bunch of tlc. Anybody wanna swap for summat easier to ride for an old fart who wants to have another play before it's too late!
