  1. What is that, a '73 / '74 ?

Love the seat, how original do you want to restore to ?

You have some great real estate to ride in NH, I used to live in Effingham, near Ossippee.

Suspect Chris @ MotoVintage may be able to help you find what you need here in the US, also Southwest Montesa ... Just google 'em.

    Good Luck

  2. Sure it's been said before ... But wouldn't a trials biased competition TV show (even on less popular networks) work to improve the overall image of trials to the general population, ala Kickstart in the 70's and 80's, even if Purvis couldn't do it !!!

It is such a shame that participation has apparently wained, the sport sure does suck you in.

  3. Hi Andy

I came over to the US about 9 years ago and discovered TPB on cable.

Its big in Canada, but sketchy in the US and UK.

Its an awesome show, I bought all 3 series on USA DVD and watch them regularly.

    Freedom 35

  4. Sounds like you severed the woodruff key on the flywheel, hope you didn't bend the crank too.

Check it out, if it starts after the woodruff key repair but wont run properly, maybe it's sucking in air from the deformed crank seals behind the flywheel. Oh Brother, new crank !!!

    Good luck

  5. If you get stuck (i know it's a bit of a daily trek), but there are some great camp sites in Arisaig, along the Mallaig Road. Good spots on the beach and the beaches are wonderful. I've stayed around there often and the ride from Arisaig isn't too bad of a morning, plus you access the sections on the Appin Peninsular quite easily too. Happy Camping !

  6. I recognize that bike, I rode that a good few times in the '80's, belonged to a good friend in Middlesbrough.

Cracking little bike, (if it's the bike I think it is) I can concur it has been locked in heated garages for most of it's life ...

  7. Was also trying to find a solution for damaged bottom frame tubes on my (soon to be renovated) '82 Mont 200. I remember back in the '70's, Rob Edwards did a cut frame tubes out and install Aluminum bash plate on my Mont 247, it looked and worked a treat.

Does anyone know of a suitable AL bash plate that could be used (with some plate welding) for a Mont 200 ?

Sorry this isnt a solution for you 125 Gold, but some of the answers or suggestions may be similarly useful !

    Cheers,

  8. Anyone seen or heard anything about Brian Hutchinson (Stokesley) - He was a big hero of mine throughout the 70's and 80's, riding Montesa's and laterly Bultaco 175's. If anyone has any pics, please post, so we can see the farming genious in action. Cheers,
