  1. If I was you, I'd start by taking the carb apart & look for crap inside it, Give it a good clean out! This is very unlike a Rev4! There usually Bomb Proof.

  2. Because he is selling them!

I Agree, Glad someone has realised. To be fair Shirty isn't going to say 'The Sherco really well suited Michael, But I don't think the GasGas will, Fair enough Shirty might not of thought that the Sherco suited him, which he is very entitle to think, But Part of the reason he will have faith in Browny now is because he will be riding Shirty's own bikes!

Good Luck to Browny Next Season, I hope the GG Suits him well

  3. What about needle position ? the needle was on the bottom when receiveing my bike ( 5 position ) Beta mention to mouve the needle to 4 position after break in ?

I haven't changed the needle position on mine, Because it runs good as it is, But I suppose if Beta have mentioned it to you it might well be worth doing, If you do it, will you let me know if it improves the bike a lot.

Have you got the Arrow Exhaust on? are you liking it?

  4. Looks like he's gone into hibernation until next years rider-bike merry-go-round starts again!

We shall see! , but he'll no doubt appear before then!-

probably as 'sherco/ossaben' or some interbred undecided name.

Not gone into hibernation lol. So Dougie has gone to GG, My Bad I was wrong about him, There is two reasons why Dougie went to GG, The Money. & to compeat in Enduro, Because GG want to go ahead in Enduro, If he thinks it's the best decision for him, Good luck to him, If he has anything to do with Shirty, he is going to need it, The main thing is I'm happy about is Dibs, He has full factory backing now, the factory & John Lampkin will offer him a lot more support than GasGas ever will.

And also no I will not change my name again, Beta's for life for me, John Lampkin & the Team are awesome, I can not describe how good they are, I wanted to change my name because of one thing only, GasGas, I hate Gassers & always will, So wanted to change it to Beta.

PERCE, Thanks for another nice comment from you lol.

Everything has been said that needs to said, Can someone close this topic please?

  5. I find the Evo to be a very nice bike, I like how smooth the engine is & also it feels lighter than the Rev3 did, Have to say i've had a ride on a 08 Rev3 250 & it was pretty fierce comapared to my 290, Didn't feel nowhere near as smooth as my Evo does though.

  6. Hi Les,

The factory silencer is a good bit of kit, (well it is for the Rev4), I think Ben Hemingway uses the factory silencer on his evo 4t, The factory one gives you a bit more power over the standard box & is also made of titanium, But if your looking for quite a lot more power, the Arrow box is the one to buy, a few lads I know use them on there evo's & they are a real good bit of kit, It depends on how much more power you want out of it really,

Have you got something lined up yet Les?, There an awesome bike, You will love it, Will be a nice change for you from the Gassers!

    Hope I've helped Les.

  7. To be fair I think the 300's are very calm to ride & in my opinion a very good machine, I think the 300 is definatly the one to buy out of the two, Get a test ride on both if you can, But I think you will prefer the 300. The Beta evo 4T's I think are a very underestimated bike & some people really don't there full potential, But on the 2010's, I think the CDI unit has been tweaked to get more all round performance, & some other bits as well. As for the throttle's I find the standard one on the 4t is very good, Really can't see any reason to change it.

Have you decided to have a change from the gassers Les?

  8. anodising isnt tougher than powder coating, anodising is really only a natural layer of oxide dyed to the colour of your choice, in hard anodising the surface is etched but not as robust as powder coat.

Well whatever is toughest will do, i've seen so many black frames mega chipped, What is the finish on the new 2011? I no it's quite a rough finish, I'm not fussed on what method it is done by, just as long as it's not mega expensive & is very tough!

    Has anyone used Kelcoat before?

  9. I would think twice before attempting this, totally impracticle unless you want a garage queen!

I no what your saying, I prefer the black much more than the silver though, I thought anodising would be a much better option than power coating, due to it being a lot tougher.

  10. Hi Chaps,

I'm looking into have my frame on my evo anodised in black, like the top trial team beta's, can anyone reccomend somewhere to take it to, I've looked at Kelcoat, but not sure, Any reccomendations would be great, Also will it probably be a fortune to have it done?

    Cheers for your time.

  11. Stick a washer between where the chain tensioner bolts onto the swingarm, there pretty well known for a lot of having a lot of play there. Also if you feel as though you don't have enough power, There is an Arrow silencer available, which makes it a lot more zippy. There an absolute sweet bike to ride, Enjoy it!

  12. So, Ben the name GasGasBen, what's that all about?

I used to ride Gassers, I had a 2008 125 racing, & a 09 300 pro, I loved the 125, was an awesome bike, But got the 300 & it was terrible, Couldn't have a day riding without something going wrong, But Got an Evo now & love it, would never go back to a GG again, after having the 300 GG it put me off them for life, I'd like to change my user name to something else, but don't know how!

  13. Sounds like it's gonna be a nice bike when it's finished, Have you fitted the arrow system?

I was also thinking of having my frame & swingarm anodised in black, I'll bet it's an expensive job though, Also would just like to ask, Does anyone know how those rainbow coloured forks are treated?
