  1. For my money the TTT bike not only sounded a lot better on BIG revs at Sheffield but the suspension also seemed a lot nicer, especially plush when landing.

Am pretty sure the TTT titanium exhaust is about all that makes it sound so nice and it could be rider preference and style that makes the suspension look nicer.

All in all though I'd agree with BenBeta23 and say that the TTT is IMO at least on a par with the 'factory' bikes.

We know from previous reports and articles etc that often the factory bikes are not that different to an 'off the peg' bike, with often there only being minor geometry changes, uprated suspension innards and small weight saving bits here and there.

Also TTT can do pretty much whatever they want to the bike where as Beta (as mentioned) need to make the 'factory' bike look and sound as normal as possible.

I've never ridden a factory Beta, but rode Alexz's TTT bike last year and it felt absolutely superb (probably been tinkered with by Julian also) in pretty much every aspect. Bit too snappy for me, but for the daft things they ride at and up it seemed perfect

You're definatly right about the sound of them, I have an Arrow exhaust fitted to my 290 & you could listen to it all week it sounds that good, Has an awesome deep tone to it, Even on full bore it is so clear & Smooth, To me Jack's bike sounds the same as mine! As for the suspension Jack uses a modified Showa shock to fit the Beta which I think Josep Banyeres Developed for them a while back, Dibs in the past has always used Showa's But not sure if he is doing now, I think he could be using the Normal Sachs with the factory stronger spring on, But could be wrong.

TTT For me is the ultimate team in trials, Togther Jack Challoner, Michele Bosi & Riccardo Bosi & the rest of TTT make a fantastic team, The Bike seems to be 100% perfect for Jack, He seems to get on really well with the Italians. I would love to meet them all one day!!

Didn't know You had rode Wiggy's TTT bike, You Lucky thing (Jelous lol), Maybe one day I might be able to catch a go on Jack's!

  2. Hi All

    Only my 2p worth..

I like the look of the TTT bike BUT i would be suprised if it was better in any way than the factory Beta bikes.. :icon_salut:

That would be like honda in moto gp giving the satellite teams better bikes that they have... (i just cannot see it)

If im wrong i stand corrected

benbeta23 you mentioning jack challoner did you see his fall at sheffield ? straight in to the skip from 12/15ft

Then see how toni bou did it..

    Cheers

    Hi Mobbster,

I did see his fall at Sheffield, How he didn't come off worse than he did I don't know, I'm suprised he didn't break his back.

Andy on here caught it on video, It looks even worse on video than it did when I watched it in the arena.

The Factory at the end of the day know how to prep the bikes better than anyone in the world does, But Riccardo Bosi, Who preps Jack's bike though is second to none on preping Beta's, He did Dabill's old TTT bike in 2006, & It was supposed to be better than Bou's factory bike was! I'll bet there pretty similar!

I would love to see a top rider do a test on both bikes, See the comparison between them.

  3. Good question, always wondered this myself, Personally I think Jack Challoner's TTT Beta is awesome, It has some better parts on than the factory bike has e.g arrow exhaust, rainbow fork legs etc.. & Jack's mechanic Riccardo is probably one of the best Beta mechanics in the world,

Also saying that, The factory can only make a bike out of the 'Factory parts' They have to make the bike look like standard or else the public will complain there bike doesn't look the same, But who preps Dibs' bike is the actual Beta factory Italy, Who know every trick in the book with them inside out, So I think they can most likely prepare the engine better to TTT.

Looks wise I'm going for Jack's TTT, & Engine wise, I'm going for Dibs'

  4. Also had a go on a mates new Ossa on sunday, The bottom end power felt quite soft compared to my evo, But I didn't know what mapping setting it was on, But found once you give it a bit more throttle it pulled very well up hills, It also felt very smooth as well. Have to say though it was very light, Especially on the front end!

  5. What a fantastic photo, Also got the same crash on video, Was a top night out though, Shame fujigas took out Josep Banyeres, That must of hurt, But I Had to laugh at Lampkin on the first section, his first ride proper ride on an indoor section on the gasser & smashed it off a fork lift truck lol.

Big well done to the brits, Dibs, Challoner & Browny All had an awesome ride!

  6. Bet Fajardo is well p****d off. The riders make good appearance money from the Indoor events.

    I'll not half bet Andy!

All Ossa really need is more time to get themselves together, Making a brand new bike & riding it in the world championships is a big big step for them, It's not just as simple as 'I've made a awesome new bike, I've bought one of the best spanish riders' & now ride it in the world championships, It takes Months & months if not more to develop a new engine & bike & fair enough so far with the new Ossa's the public have got seem to be a good bike & I hope there pleased with them, But when your riding at Jeroni's level, it has to be a complete different story.

Eventually Ossa will get it right, & Fajardo will be happy with the bike eventually. A lot of you seem to be forgetting, Almost every other trials Manufacturer have been going for years & years, & have been through all this before, I know ossa were a big company in there day, But things have changed a lot since then & they have to pick it all up again now!

To Ossa themselves: Don't be afraid to say you have technical problems with the bike, Everyone has been there before, Be Honest & don't make lies up. If you can tell Bruno Cammozi that it is down to technical problems, God knows why you can't be honest with us.

My biggest appologies go out to Nigel Birkett, He has put tons of time & Effort into Ossa, & the least they should do for him & make him feel like he has something to be really proud of. It must be a big dissapointment for him, for them not to be compeating in his home country!

benwall: Do you honestly think that it is just as simple to say 'it looks the best engineered bike there' I'm sorry but you can't even comapre that bike to the some of the factory machines. Ossa will have to work there absolute nuts off to get it to the standards of the other factory bikes.

Just thought I'd share my general opinion of Ossa.

  7. "There is no problem with our bike. We just don't have a thing to wear!" Excuses don't get much more lame than that.

Exactly what I was thinking, I'll bet Jeroni's Factory Ossa is not fully ready yet, They won't want to look an embarrasment at Sheffield, But If they really expect us to believe that it is a down to the clothing, They really must think we are all stupid!

Edit: Just read your last post Andy, If they aren't ready for the next X-Trial event in Marseille, I'm sure Jeroni will be a very unhappy man!

  8. What a load of rubbish.

I rode round near Cabestany all week and I don't remember him having any problems with fuel tanks. If your fuel tank is leaking in the Scottish you have a problem. Some of those moors go on for a few hundred metres :(

My 2010 sherco is on its original tank and has never leaked. Any faulty tank was replaced under warranty.

TheDBF, don't be put off by rumourmungers who havn't a clue!

Well It was on hear that someone said caby had been through a fuel tank a day!, But I'll tell you now there has been a hell of a LOT of people who have been through them tanks, & Browny has had his fair share of them as well, If you think for 1 minute that a complete new design of bike has no problems, You're the one who really doesn't have a clue.

  9. are the rim stickers a good job, do they get damaged when changing a tyre. they look the part but am wondering about robustness.

They are really good quality actually, At first I thought they wouldn't last very long, But I've had a set on mine for about 10 months now & still look pretty much perfect. The odd one gets scracted up a bit obviously, But there are a few spare in the set as well. Also Had a few tyres changed since the rim stickers were first put on & they hardly affect them at all.

  10. 4RT advise from one who can't tell the difference between a fake 4RT the real thing

The bigger Master Cyl does make it more progressive.

For your information, Before you start ranting, My dad used to own a 05 4RT a few years ago & the clutch was a bit on/off & the Mitani clutch plates definatly helped, The larger master cylinder also did.

  11. Would adding 13 tooth front sprocket make it evan more higher geared? So 1st ok but 2nd gear evan higher?

Yes it would make it more high geared, In my opinion a 13 is way to high though, 10 or 11 is fine on the front.

  12. Hi,

Give yourself a bit more time with it, you might like it after a while, I have a 2010 Evo 290, using the standard gearing & to be fair I find it just right for me,It will be different with the Rev3 as you say, But If you can't adapt to it, Give a smaller sprocket a go on the front or a bigger one on the back,

Has all the snow gone over yorkshire now?
