  1. I wonder where you have read that, Let's see, on the first page, It's just a rumor mate, But it Would be nice to have Dibs on the Beta team though. To be fair I didn't even mention that in what you quoted me in.

Edit: To Deadwood, I Knew you would of deleted that Post, Just the same as you deleted your topic about Lampkin & Dibs, what was it you said again Dougie to GasGas, Dabill to be Beta, Just watch and see'

  2. Are you in denial about the Montesa / HRC years, they simply did not happen, did they?

No not at all in anyway, Of course Dougie's days at Montesa happened, I was trying to Point out When Doug made the move to Montesa, I personnaly think that when he signed for them, He was still at a very important stage & the bike change would do him good, But now I think he can relax a bit more in the world trials career, Correct me if i'm wrong but I think he has said that himself a few times, & my own opinion now he is where he wants to be, Some people may differ, Just my own opinion.

  3. Didn't matter last time, same senario left Beta and went to Montesa.

Anyway, who says Dibs is about to leave Gas Gas, if Doug is heading in the Gas Gas direction, you can be sure the priority will be the enduro side of things rather than Trials.

When Doug moved to Montesa, He was still in a very important stage in his career, I'm not saying he still isn't now, But Doug has said himself that there isn't as much pressure on him now as there used to be a few years ago & he can relax a bit more, Personally myself I think that Doug is where he wants to be (with his family)for however much of his Trials career he still has left in him. I think whatever choice Doug makes, It will be the right decision for him.

If Doug wants to take the Enduro side of things further, Possibly GG might be the right choice for him, But can't see the same thing for Trials happening.

  4. No chance that Doug will Leave Beta, All of Doug's family is Beta & always will be, Personally I think he is exactly where he wants to be & is happy as he is. Same said for Dibs really, Him & Shirty get on like a house on fire, & if i'm not mistaken Dabill has signed a new contract with GG.

  5. Just to be "Fair" what years?

I mean comeone man, my 08 is lighter than my 06, dad's raga 11 is ligher still, and so on, lot has to do with footpeg position, bar position, and more for criminey sakes, it is stupid to say "got off the old gasgas (forgot to mention that the gasgas was a 99 model,,, D'oh) and got on the beta and now the beta seems lighter" As far as I know it is what you did. Hell every year the same make bikes seem lighter to the older bikes they had, sheesh.

No way in h3ll the 4rt seems lighter than the pro's since the same age, NO WAY. Has to be another factor biasing your thoughts.

Good point, Forgot to mention my GG was a 300 2009, & my evo is a 290 2010, Also had a go on a 2011 250 GG & still doesn't feel as light as my evo does. I suppose it's just probably what you are used to.

  6. no but gasgasben reckons the warranty is second to none so dont worry about it :guinness:

Is there really any need for that?, why have you targeted that at me, I've read a few recent posts on here about Lampkins Service & they don't all come from me, I only wanted to point out Lampkins service was excellent, I mentioned it in one topic, Duggan Whatever your problem with the bike is mate, I'm sure they will help you out, Hope you get it sorted.

Looks like your the first to discover a new problem with the 2011's.

  7. When I had a GG, I thought it was light, But Got an evo now & it feels so much lighter in every way, Front end feels lighter, I find it a lot easier to flick about, & the Evo is supposed to be a couple of Kilograms heavier than the GG.

  8. To GasGas Ben : too late now BUT, by E.U law ALL 'motorised vehicles' MUST come with AT LEAST 12 month warranty. I know of riders who have threatened GasGas UK with legal action based on his illegal warranty and quel surpris, shock of shocks he backed down instantly and covered all the work and parts

Ah ok Then, Didn't know that was the case now, Just thought The 6 month warrenty with GG UK, Is a very important issue for people to know with new Gassers, Even if the warrenty has to be 12 months, I have no doubts that shirty will manage a way to get round it.

As you say also though John Lampkin & the team are 100% fantastic with you, Couldn't ask to deal with nicer people.

  9. Im maybe be in for a new bike soon and wonder what to get. A big factor is GasGas uk give a 10 minute warranty unlike J Lampkin. Im uncertain as if it was GasGas id try importing if it was worth it seen as you dont get a warranty, so see little point buying

    from Uk.

My current Gasser is an import and ive had to rebuild the engine twice but it runs great unlike the Rev3 bikes that i had. I always seemed to have Carb issues so tried a Gasser and find it runs well other than weak gearbox.

Beta is backed to the hilt by J Lampkin and this i know as he bought me a new wheel once, so this is a factor as i would not wish to purchase a bike and pay for component failure.

Haha, I'll agree with that, Used to have a gasser & shirty was always a pain in the backside to deal with, Had a cracked radiator on my 09 300, the bike was only just over 6 months warranty (I mean only just), But still had to buy a new one, That's one of the reasons why I will never have a GG again, Got a Beta Evo now though, & the service I have recieved from John Lampkin & the team is unbelivable, They are honetly fantastic people, It's a pleasure to deal with them.

Just thought I'd state that fact in case anyone is thinking about buying a new GG or beta & wants to know what the Importers service is like.

  10. 100 percent agreed, That is seriously not on in a Trial no matter what the circumstances, I know when people make mistakes in sections they sometimes swear at themselves (sometimes me), But arguing & shouting & swearing at spectators & observers seriously isn't on at all, Did you report it by any chance?

If you don't mind me asking what club was it?

If he has any sense at all, he should go & apologize to all the club comitee & the spectators he swore at.

  11. Does the bike still have a good traction with the ARROW ?

Yes 100%, If anything it has much better traction with the Arrow Exhaust on, You notice a big difference all the way through the rev range as well, It's superb, Definatly worth the extra cost, Even though it's an arm & a leg.

  12. its a 2010 repsol i am thinking of getting. whats pcb?

There is no such thing as a 2010 Montesa as yet, They are all 09's being sold off as 2010's, The Factory still have over 300 2009 bikes left which they want to get rid of first.

Also found you a spec list for the Repsol,

    Carbon fibre fork brace

    Carbon fibre fork covers

    Carbon fibre headlight

    Carbon fibre muffler cover

    Carbon fibre clutch cover protector

    Repsol graphics/stickers

    Renthal fatbars

    Aluminium footrests

    Racing ECU fully programmable

    Limited edition numbering plate

  13. Just your opinion then :wall: and not everyones....................some like them and others don't, same with all bikes

Very True mate, It Is just my opinion. I just think that the Monts are an old bike, I mean in 2005 When they first come out everyone wanted one & they were awesome, But to be fair they are pretty much the same bike now as they were in 05. I just think the Beta 4T is something new & different,

Miked, Try and get a go on a new Evo 300 if you can, I'll bet you'll really like it.

  14. I have been riding a 4rt since 2006 and will not be trading it, but would like a change and with the future of the 4rt looking a bit doubtful it's time for a change.

Had a brief ride on the 4t 250 when they first came out, little bit dull.Nothing like the 4rt to put a smile on the face. And I was asking for experience as compared to the 4rt.

    Miked

My experience is that the 4RT is horrible to ride, & the Beta is Awesome to ride, The 300 Evo is better than a 4RT in every way possible.

There is a huge difference between the 250 Rev4 & the New Evo 4T's

  15. Go for the Evo 300 mate, It's an awesome bike, Is way nicer to ride than the Mont, The Monts have hardly changed since they first come out in 2005. & in my opinion are nothing special to ride. There an excellent Built bike, But I think the Beta is a lot nicer to ride.

Mark1984, The 250 did far from lack in power, You just had to give it a bit more stick!

  16. To answer the question about the factory pipe- When I had my 2009 300 and added the factory pipe it was all good, just a "slight" raise in sound, a little deeper and a little more power from bottom up. Miss that sound and would do it again in a heart beat. I don't think the sound would bother any one the bike is very quit stock, again just a little deeper.

I would like to hear the Arrow.

Take a look at this, I recorded a sound clip of My dad's Evo 4T with the Arrow Exhaust on. Does sound really good though & also sounds a lot noiser on the video than it is really.

  17. Thanks for the info Ben. Anyone tried the factory titanium silencer as well and see how it works?

It's quite a bit better than the standard one, But not a patch on the Arrow one, It is just the same as the standard apart from it's made from titanium. There is just a slight increase in performance. I think Ben Hemingway is using one.
