  1. I love my twinshock but if you are wanting to ride and don't have hours and hours to maintain them then a second hand modern is the way to go. Avoid the scorpa 125/175 though.
  2. Exactly, and you weren't even there! Section 1 was the same, as were a couple of others. 3 started at the top and just looped down wasting 5 secs then another 5 secs to line up for what could have been the begins, daft. What they should have done is have a riders meeting on the monday at the event and go through section by section with pune and toni and make sure what they needed to do to get it right.
  3. Only behind the section tape, ditto minders except when catching or running from one position to another. I saw luis gallach sprinting maybe 20 metres and climbing 4 m up only to have cabby exit the section just before he got there, good job he made it. Section 9 cliff face next to the one on video elsewhere.
  4. Because there was no more room as the coastal path was next to it and riders needed to get by. You can see that Cabby has his back wheel against the tape, if they had allowed more run up then more may have made it.
  5. Comparisons to golf and rallying whilst interesting are completely different sports and besides just detract from the point. When will the luddites among us realise that the clock cannot be turned back 20 years and to think that the SSDT has an appeal as a wtc event is daft and as stated by others with much more knowledge of the event who think it could be easily spoiled were it ever possible. If you think you know better than honda montesa I suggest you share your expertise with them, if they thought the SSDT were of any value at all then everyone of their team would be there. I am not convinced that many more would ride if the sections were eased off even say 30% It seems to me that we are getting off the point. There were quite a few minor factors which put together made a disaster. From first hand these were; sections almost all too long for 1 minute, and no looping meant they were ridden like last year. severity too hard mostly a do or die section if you couldn't do something it was a five (haven't compared stats but sure its true) Bou decided to get off as sections would deteriorate so he had some advantage at the front. The section inspection failed to moderate the clubs difficult sections. Riders unable to walk the sections made it harder Minders prohibited meant some riders would not chance crashing back without catchers. The organisers clearly did not follow the rules and dish up the 30 30 30 hard medium and easy, in fact the stats will show there wasn't one easy section.
  6. Diego Bosis is the section advisor.
  7. That was a sttep cliff face which the first part was much harder than it looked, I am at the very top with the green t shirt. I felt as did Wiggy and his minder danny haslam that this was one of the more possible sections for him to attempt which he did on both laps but fived on the first step.
  8. Diego bosis I think was in charge of section inspection/alteration on the saturday, in his new role this year for the fim. the sections were shortened/eased but not enough. i would hope he has learned from last week.
  9. It was 1325 miles in 20 hours plus waiting time at the tunnel. Average speed when driving 85-105 except when it rained across (yes you guessed it) the Spanish plains. Total distance double that to get back at 8pm moday but only got speed flashed twice in France so good result there! Not enjoyable!
  10. Sections generally were much too long and difficult, a good few would have been no different to last year. There seems to have been no concession to the "dynamic" element and little or no effort to avoid lining up positioning. Certainly very little concession to no riders in sections or minders. Section one had space to be flowing but was marked out tight so as to require flicking and rear wheel sideways alignment several times. Think with very little adjustments toni exited on 58 secs, similar time to the others. Unlike scarboro the weather was not to blame although the sections deteriorated (see junior scores). The bottom two routes had ridden these sections yesterday in the europeans, not so the top route. An early number was an advantage so putting Toni at the front was an advantage to him, think wiggy and Pune didn't see toni, raga or fuji ride more than one or two sections. Toni finished with maybe an hour to 90 mins to spare. Quite clearly there wasn't 30% easy sections as requested in the rules. Not too sure there was 30% medium either. I quote from an ex world champ " if this is trials I don't know what I have been doing for the last few years"
  11. Alot of "gardening" in the sections today during inspection. The riders not allowed in the section was ok but there was a stand off at section one till they allwed minders to move within the section. watch this space!
  12. colomer can still ride a bit.
  13. Yes I've observered every trick you have ten times over but the riders still need minders for the sections as far as catching is concerned. Besides minders are allowed unless you know different?
  14. definitive list here http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/official-...nd-regulations/ no mention of minders or section inspection prohibited?
  15. yep section "inspection" the day before.

Simple maths ratio one is 4.182 the other 4.3 therefore 10 42 is very close to 11 46
  17. There will be more problems as the youths who start first sometimes as early as 8 30 (rider a) have to finish lap 1 therefore at 11 30, only 30mins after the last rider in the top group. My estimate is section seven will have a gaggle of large bike holders stopping the progress of the youth riders who might interfere with the lines or simply slow up the waiting top boys. (rider a needs to finish lap 2 at 13 30 top boys lap 1 14.30) If as stated the riders and minders are filling the gap between spectators and section it won't help the view at all it will block it even more than now. It was crowded last year with riders in the section itself so its going to be worse.
  18. ..........if it were true, minders will still be in the sections surely for the riders saftey?
  19. I've yet to see the rules where section inspection is mentioned are you sure its right? Where can we see these rules? Its a 3 hour limit for the first lap so thats how long they will take though?
  20. my 2010 was/is spot on so far
  21. this riding the section in order is against the basics of trials. Part of the skill is knowing when to push on and when to hang back. Ragas result in France last year was simply down to him getting a move on. I really think Doug was able to win on that day too as he had a technical problem which allowed raga to pass and enjoy dry sections before the rain made the sections much harder. Also it states "START FIRST" so maybe its bou is simply first away which if thats the case then he will finish bang on time or a little late then evryone else will be fighting time and racing between sections and back to the start. Either way this doesn't smell of rider consultation. On the plus side wiggy's last away! are the juniors and youth the same? Where are the official rules can't find them? found some but no mention of section inspection disallowed.
  22. i know mine needed one jet different on the pilot.
  23. I think I will be at the British round rather than make the 1000 mile trip to the ssdt as I think watching the worlds best on the Ben should not be missed.
  24. so bou will ride every section first? I can't see that being acceptable to the top lads. As stated above 1 minute is fine if the sections are mareked accordingly. no rider inspection can't see the point of that and this will only help the riders, mainly bou and raga, who have more "minders". Raga has two connected by radio now so I expect more of the same?
