    Rear Wheel Bearings

big vice grips end on gently wiggle it out or put a shaft through from other side and tap against vice grips
  3. I will get the tube ordered I will check the clutch span adjustment, this is something I haven't looked at like the idea of removing 2 clutch springs, will the clutch not slip ? thanks
  4. cheers for the replies he's a motocrosser primarily and only rides the trials bike in the winter (yes he's a very lucky 12 year old) , so he likes the throttle hes just too snappy with the throttle and clutch, bike runs well and the tyre is new I just need him to calm down a bit opening the throttle, is there a way to soften the clutch a bit ? it is sharp and its in tight turns he has real bother coming off the clutch I think I will order a slow action as they are cheap and see how it goes
  5. my 12 year old has an 07 125 he can ride it really well on rocks and areas with grip but if the ground is wet and slippy he is hopeless, he just spins up the back wheel and goes no where I understand that its a throttle control issue and that practice makes perfect but in the short term we (him and me) have discussed a slower throttle is this a good idea on such a small capacity bike ? also the clutch seems sharp and isnt helping as its helping to break traction, is there a way to soften it a bit ? many thanks
  6. contacted splat about that caliper, it is not available at the minute they were helpful and recommended http://www.splatshop.co.uk/ajp-4-pot-calliper-assy.html its not mad money as long as it fits straight on and gives a sharper brake has anyone tried this on a 315 ?
  7. have had a trusty 315 for 11 years now, great bike but the front brake is very average. This was made very apparent when my son got a 125 Sherco on which the brakes are outstanding. Have just fitted new EBC pads which made no difference. Any tricks ? Caliper ? Master cylinder ? anything else ? Cheaper the better of course as its only an old girl I play on occasionally. thanks
  8. it also finds its way down the cable into the top of the slide then down into the bowl presume there is no airbox bung for sale, diy job it is thanks for the replies except for this minor irritant its a cracking bike for a 10 year old
  9. cheers will try rotating trick, was trying not to disturb the carb as they are a terrible fit in the rubbers but if I have to. will have make a airbox bung also cheers
  10. 1. whats the best plug for a 07 125, it currently has a BP5ES for the UK 2 Is there a spanner available small enough that will slacken the carb drain bolt when still on the bike 3. if the answer to 2 is no has anyone ever drilled and tapped the side of a carb bowl to allow the carb to be drained after washing. 4 whats the best way to keep water out of these wee bikes, its becoming a bit of a chore taking the back end of the bike off to get the carb off, I have siliconed the throttle cable joints, carb top, mudguard joint, ensure carb breathers are on etc. And I suppose while asking are there any tips on how to improve these wee bikes in any way or are they just fine out of the box many thanks
  11. ok you have just put me off thinking I might just spoil the bike with a set of front pads, the ones in it are 10 years old so may be a bit glazed ! since wear is not an issue to me what the best pads that make the bike stop
  12. Will a 2003 4 pot caliper fit on a 2000 model with Showa forks if so is it a good improvement

    06 Airbox Bung ?

Was thinking of getting an air filter lid and filling in the top air intake hole with duct tape and silicone I have started siliconing the gap under the mudguard around the back of the airbox, this has worked well stopping any muck getting in when riding cheers

    06 Airbox Bung ?

no thats an exhaust bung, I was looking an airbox bung http://www.twinair.com/worldwide/twin-air-airbox-cover twin air make them for all mx bikes, great bit of kit, keeps the water out and allows you to reuse the filter (if not too dirty) as it wont be wet from the power wash

    06 Airbox Bung ?

does anyone make a bung like the ones you can get for motocross bikes, so when you wash the bike water doesnt pour into the airbox

    Removing Switch Gear

on second thoughts after looking under the tank I only need to cut and join 2 yellow wires and the harness is out, not hard to reverse although it will never be back on. so I will do this myself tonight and save a few quid, then fit a new kill switch

    125 Fan Stays On

its the one for the pipe yes it came with the housing, thats what confused me initially I presumed, open the two clips and pull it out (or screw it out ?), then it arrives complete and no obvious way of the housing attaching seems to have a lipped o ring which must just pop into the hose fitting
  22. while the tank is off I intend to remove the switch gear and fit a kill switch presume I have to carefully split the loom and just leave the fan feed which wire is the kill switch wire from the cdi ?
