  1. Hi all, Could anyone tell me how much these bikes are new?? I'd like to get one for my sons birthday in march and be good to have a idea of the cost? What they go for second hand? not that I can find one anywhere.........
  2. cheers for the replies gents it appears to be leaking from the fitting where the feed from the reservior goes into the master cylinder and having spoken to gasgas again today parts for this wouldn't be in the kit anyway, so i'll need a complete unit
  3. no probs happy to help!
  4. Hi all, Does anybody know of where I could buy a rebuild kit for the rear brake master cylinder, I've phoned gasgas today and they don't do one, they said to buy a complete unit off a newer model '06 pro' which is 40quid +vat obviously want to try and find cheaper alternative or somewhere to buy a second hand item, any suggestions??? bike is a 2001 txt Cheers.......
  5. Thinking of buying one of these or making one, does anybody use one? how do you rate it? cheers
  6. I think in past years they have run along side each other but this year they have made the course a bit easier/more flowing so this could also be a reason for creating the speed trial
  7. Hi steve, Where abouts by ruthin did you go??
  8. tyre wise, trials tyres are not allowed mx/enduro only I think the reason trials bikes are banned is that they have there own event this year, the speed trial. Even though the course is technical and probably more suited to a trials bike the trials riders could not compete with the enduro bikes as they were just to fast, hence the reason for there own event.
  9. Would appear I've cured the puncture in the tyre, went to it today and stillhad it's air in! When I took the tyre off the second time round I basically did what you said to do with the silicone but I used liquid rubber, from a bike puncture repair kit. Also gave the rim and tyre a good clean. hopefully it will stay sealed! Thanks everyone to your responses to this thread, has been very useful!
  10. I can get on ok so guess a problem your end??? Anyone on here having a go at the speed trial???
  11. Tyre is back on and I've put it in some water and 4 or 5 spokes are leaking air, so some new rim tape will cure it hopefully
  12. I know that now Put the tyre back on and start again me thinks
  13. I used the big vice method as I've got one in the garage so seemed the easiest way. Too my surprise there is no inner tube in the tyre!! I guess with running low psi a tube would be no good because of snake bites on rocks? So my next question, do you need some sort of special glue type stuff to put the tyre back on to seal it around the bead?? how do you find/fix the puncture??
  14. How many pound notes will one of them set me back???????
  15. Is there a nack to removing the tyre? I've a puncture and want to fix it, I tried getting the tyre off today and it didn't want to budge, I was only using small 8-10" levels that I use on the enduro bike, do I need to get the 2' car tyre levers out??
  16. David knight my money is on, he's not lost there yet(as far as I know), although he's on a new bike, the bmw so maybe that might be his downfall, it's not really proven in the off road scene yet. I think fast eddy might be one to watch aswell We'll see on the day, I'm going down to watch 30mins from me, should be a good day........
  17. I have this trouble when going on my enduro bike and will be the same on the trials, I wouldn't worry about it too much tho I don't anymore, everybody has to start somewhere, i'm by far the worse rider out of the group I ride with, they are in the expert/clubman/sportsman classes where as i'm just a beginner, if anything it helps because they give pointers and tips, I expect the trial bike riders will be the same. As for practise I will find out if it is possible or not to go at the places I have been told and let you know, there just a couple of miles up the road from me so will nip up there in the next few days I'm lucky in that I have a bit of land at home to practise on, a couple of fields and a bit of a wooded area with a river running through it. It's quite good only down side is it's muddy so grip can be a issue. Once I get my bike sorted you could come up here for a play one day, something a bit different as most places are dry rocky stuff
  18. Hi gents, I too am in north wales, an yes a chill in the air at the mo I'm new to the trials thing also, well bikes in general, started riding this year. Only got the trials bike a couple of weeks ago so very little time on that so far Think the farm your refering to is wern ddu, I've been there on my enduro bike but not the trials yet. very good place to have a play around, there's a bit of everything there, some clubs hold events there also. There are a couple of places near me which i've been told of not been yet, so don't no what there like or even if it is still possible to go there, I live just outside mold if your near me could pass the details on to you Happy riding.........
  19. Hi, had the bike going today, the first time properly since buying it as it needed a bit of tlc, anyway after some 20 mins riding it started to overheat(steam from the rad), first thing I noticed was the cooling fan was not running, which I assume it should be, all connections etc are ok as I checked when the tank was removed. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for this?? bike is a 2001 txt280 or maybe something common to check which goes on these? cheers in advance.....
  20. Silly question I know but how do you top the oil up?? Does anybody have the standard settings for the rebound and compression i.e. how many clicks in or out?? cheers
  21. cheers for the reply Jon Can anyone tell me how much oil is supposed to go in each fork leg?
  22. Hi all, I'm after some info on the front forks on a 2001 txt280 I've only just bought the bike (first trials bike), after having a bit of a ride round when I got home noticed the forks to be very soft, as if comp & rebound set to zero. After having a closer inspection found on the bottom of the right fork (as you sit on bike) there appears to be a bolt missing?? should it be holding oil in?? I'm guessing this side is for rebound as on the left hand side there is a little knob with 'C' +/- compression?? I have turned this, it will go approx 1 turn in total and it makes no difference to how the forks move. Any info greatly appriciated!!
