  1. Click.................... Here Here and Here Check these pages out for starters ! This one has info on all aspects of your Bike from bars to tyres ! Spokes
  2. Recently Cleaned out exhaust and repacked Rear box. But will check to see if its all OK. Turned down the fuel screw yesterday to just 1.5 turns out and it ran better all the way up to the top but it then stalled and would not start for about 15 kicks ! ????????? Pretty sure its fuel setup ! May go upto Buxton at the weekend for a bit of Practice so could pop upto Harpur Hill and get an opinion from 'The Main Man' at Gas Gas Cheers
  3. Ah but............. There is one problem with sitting in the shadow of Motocross and that is the public and political perception of 2 Wheel Off Road sport in this country. How many times have you told someone at work or down the pub that you have a trials bike and then the reply comes, ' Oh yeah! my mates got one of them ( Aprillia RX 50 YZ250 RM .... etc.etc. ) he goes up the woods at the weekend and gets chased by the coppers ' or similar ! The best thing for Trials would be to completely detach itself and start promoting itself as the Respectful Gentlemans sport that it is. I mean for gods sake how many other british sportsmen or women can you list that have done what Dougie has done ? (He's a knight as well is'nt he ?) Joe public doesnt even know who he is or what he does !! If they are not interested in who he is then so be it! But at least if they where shown the sport and what can be achieved then at the very least there would be a mutual respect for Trails across all walks of life ! Instead at the moment in public and political opinion we just tear up the country side, make a mess of the place, polute the environment and make an unbearable row ! The only result of sitting in under the wing of Motocross will eventually be the demonisation of our sport and the loss of decent land on which to Trial ! Am I getting a bit carried away here or a bit pessimistc ? Look at it this way you never hear anyone shouting about how Trials is thriving in this country and how more land is being cornered for Trials Practice and Competion do you ? Tell me if I'm wrong !? Here's a question ! If you took 'Trials + Motocross' and split it in two ( i.e. 'Trials weekly' and 'MX weekly') Which would sell more ? Anyway back to the topic ! At the very least Trials needs an exhibition of its own ! In the words of Whitney Houston ! I believe that Trials is the future.... teach it well and let it lead the way ! AAaaaaaaaggghh ! Got a bit carried away then !
  4. Took me 3 Hours to get 35 miles back home ! I know what you mean about all of the MX idiots at the show ! I was chatting to Kev at the GasGas stand when some Snot Nosed Chav pointed at the trials bikes and spouted some crap to his mates along the lines of ' Trials is for people that are scared of Motocross ' and that ' Trials bikes should not be allowed in the show ! ' ?? I think he may have a point tho !? Maybe Trials could hold a Show of its own ? Maybe when the National Motorcycle Museum has been rebuilt that would be a great venue for the 1st Britsh Trials Show ? The wife is an event organiser so I'll get her on the case right away ! Being as tho we have no Trials shops in the Midlands the show was a good oportunity for me to try and buy a new helmet and pickup some bits of kit without the risk of mail ordering the wrong sizes etc. As for the 4rT there are probably more in the country than people think. Rumour has it that some rich bloke round here got one from Spain a while back.

    This New Fantic?

Maybe the new Fantic Trials bikes will have a bit of a extra feature sitting on top of the Fuel tank ???? http://www.fanticmotor.it/prod-caffe.htm Would be useful on a winter trial inbetween the sections !! Joking apart, my first bike was a 96 Fantic Section and I aint ridden anything since that even comes close in the Engine department !
  6. Thanks for that ! I thinks its fueling thats the problem but gonna give the whole bike a good service !!
  7. Gonna do the carb and checkout the igintion system form start to finish ! Have been Jet washing the bike a fair bit over the past few weeks due to mud etc. so maybe the cause ? Also got water into the top of the Air box last Sunday whilst playing in puddles ! They all were upto the sump then sudenly I was upto my knees in water whilst still standing on the bike ! Air box fully submerged for a few seconds !!!!!! Took about an Hour to kick it all thru ! Was about 2 miles from the Van as well !!! But ......... The Problems with top end started before this horrific incident ! Dont you just love mud and water !
  8. Been having touble with my 200 TXT 02. It starts fine 1st or 2nd kick with a bit of choke. Choke off then let it warm up a bit then rides around at slow speeds fine ! However when I go for a bit of a climb the and open it up it has just not responded at the top end. Twice now the bike has stopped short on a climb due to 'Choking off' and nearly killed me through having to jump off or roll backwards down the hill ! I dont know if the top end has been done at all since new and I will be checking the reeds whilst the carb is off. I have a new Air filter and will be cleaning and blowing the carb out before reasembly. I'm Using TTS at 70:1, Motul Gbox oil, Std Factory jettings and setup on the carb etc. Plug has heavy deposits and is quite wet ? Set the carb up as Gas Gas UK Specify. Seems to have started after last Carb clean ? Gonna Check the Float Level and give it another go ........... Any tips on checking that the ignition is OK ? Any Pointers would be a big help Cheers
  9. I was toying with the idea of finding a decent Balck Paint for my rims ? Have used a really good Auto Glym Matt Smooth Black ( Looks like powder coat ) on my Audi Quattro Wheels and they look awsome. May mask off all of the spokes and clean and cut back the rims with wet and dry first to provide a good bond for the paint. Was also thinking of red spoke adjusters ! Or is this a step too far ! The bike is a Yellow 200 Pro so Black Wheels are a must ! Sod it I'm gonna do it when I change my tyres over Xmas ! Gotta get the bike running right first tho !
  10. Anyone gone or going to Stoneliegh ? Went today as I'm working at the weekend. Took a while to find the Trials Shops etc. Should have taken my camera as the Models were stunning !! (New bike Models that is ! )

Gonna pass on the LARA info to the land owner this weekend. He says that a guy from 'up north' is travelling down soon to give some guidance on planning and to gather noise readings etc. ? The court rulings have only been based on a one sided argument so far. i.e. the opinion of the complainant and his dubious 'evindance' ! Think the owner is gonna go for broke and submit an application in the new year. The one thing that the courts dont know is that a Frieght rail line runs between the 'Trials Land' and the residents home, and is constantly carting coal to the nearby Power Station. Pretty sure that the train makes a fair bit of noise as do the heavy presses in the factory close by ! Personally I think it will go in our favour but you never know ? Thanks for the comments so far .......

Hello, I'm new here. Great site! I've already used the tech section to help me setup my carb ! Anyway My first Ramble ! I stopped off at a piece of land today where we used to practice. The owner has been orderd to cease any motorsport activities due to a noise complaint from a nearby resident, I called in to see how things were going ! He now has a 14/28 Day Permittted Development order on his land starting from Jan 1st 2005. Whilst trying to enlighten myself on what this meant I came upon this LARA Site and as I found no reference to it on Trials Central I thought I'd list some links as it makes for interesting reading... http://www.laragb.org http://www.laragb.org/plan1.html The 1st link is the main site and the 2nd makes for some interesting reading concerning the Scott Trial and some of the planning problems it has faced in recent times ! Back to the land I mentioned above ! Before going to court the land owner banned MX bikes and laid out rules basically stating that all bikes using the land must be pushed and engines started only when reaching a point marked 300m (approx) from neighbouring property. But it was too late ! When the court case came up video was shown depicting some idiot tanking up and down the access road (where bikes should be pushed the idiot was on an MX bike and had no helmet) As the land owner had banned MX bikes and will not open the gate to anyone without a Helmet and Boots.............. well, all I will say is this, The Owner had not let him in and a video camera appeared and shot film of the 'event'. No Video footage appeared of any trials practice in progress tho !? Some of you in the Midlands Area will know the location in Rugeley that I am rambling on about ! If you fancy writing a letter to the local council then PM me and I will pass on the address. The owner is reluctant to accept a 14/28 Day rule as the land was used day in day out for years with no complaints until a new resident appeared. As I said I can pass on the address of the council to people within say, a 50 mile radius? but if anyone else wants to sign a petition just send your Trials Central screen name and Email address to me and I will add it to the list of concerned parties ! Many Thanks 'Spokes' P.S. Any advice from anyone who has had to 'fight for the right' would be wost welcome ?!
