  1. Still Getting this problem !! Got the carb in bits and have given it good once over AGAIN ! Fitted new Rings last night as well as a 0.8mm Gasket and still no change ! Here are all of the numbers that I found when stripping the carb. D36 105 36 268K 60 ( Choke ) I know that the 60 is the choke but can some of you put a name to the rest of the numbers ? Are there any more jets that I am missing ?

    Powder Coating

    Thanks Marky Now all I need to do is find some red Spoke nipples ! Black hubs and rims with red nipples I really want Silver Plastics on the bike. Its an 02 200 pro. GG say that if I want to buy new plastics for the bike then they will have to be 03 spec and I will also need to fit the updated airbox !

    Powder Coating

    Has anybody got any experience of Powder coating Alloy rims ? I'm thinking of black anodising but a mate did it and we found that it really showed up even the tinyest of dinks on the rims. Just a bit concerned that the 200 degrees temp that needed to cure the powder coatin may distort the unspoked rim ? I know that hubs can be done but they are a more solid structure.
  4. The above is right to a certain extant but they provide flat ground on which to warm the bike up and to practice the basics. Before moving across the road to the woods. Hope you dont think that we're riding around an NCP Car Park! Just the industrial estate ! He had to have the flesh in his arm pushed back in and a gause inserted to stop it from bulging the 10 stitches ! Poor lad Not heard that one before ! Like it !
  5. Heres what happend today............ My mate purchased his first bike yesterday, a mint 02 Sherco 250. ( From Cheltenham ) The rest goes like this ...... Bike off trailer Helmet and boots on Start bike ( let it warm up ) Jump on Potter around the car park for a bit ( Before entering the woods ) Pull throttle wide open ( By accident ) whilst turning Couldn't grab the clutch Slammed into a brick wall at full wack ! At first he looked OK with just a chipped tooth and a chunk of flesh out of his chin ! Bike OK apart from snapped clutch lever and bars pushed forward But then about 15 mins later he got an itch on his right arm, rolled his sleeve up to reveal a 2 inch wide puncture/flesh wound in his arm with lumps of torn flesh hanging out of it !! The clutch lever had snapped in his arm and then fallen on the floor ! And he could'nt feel any pain ! I'm sure he wont mind me talking about this as we all saw the lighter side of it after a while. He's all stitched up now and cant wait to try again !! Hope you will all join me in welcoming Lee to the wonderful world of Trials ! Get well soon Lee !

    It needs a bit of a clean up ( One of those take it all apart to clean it jobs ! ) so I dare say that we'll find some issues along the way ! The forks are working fine and the seals are new. The fuel leak is the main thing at the moment. Its just gone straight in the shed for now but on quick inspection there seems to be no fuelleaking from the carb or petcock but the rear edge of the sump buard is wet with fuel ? Any ideas ? The manual is amazing ! Just flicked through it and I can't believe all of the info inside ! e.g. flywheel wieght settings and timing settings etc. Fantastic I dont think that James ( My mate ) could have found a better first bike ! I know a few blokes who run some Fantics around here and they all seem to sound like there is no baffle in the silencers ( Loud and hollow ). I have not looked at the exhaust yet but is there a way of getting onto these silencers to re pack em ?

    Good Question ! I was wondering this myself this morning when I had my Carb in bits ? Even the Dellorto website does'nt tell you if the fuel valve pin needs to be compressed when the float arms are set !

  16. A friend of mine (who rides road bikes) is looking to get a trials bike on a budget.
  17. You can also use Nitromors ( Paint stripper ) Block one end up then pour a load in and slosh it all about. Leave for about 10 mins then slosh again Repeat a few times then block the other end up and do the other end of the pipe. Watch your eyes when splashing it about. Jet wash it all out. Job done ** Dont leave it in the pipe for too long as Nitromors hardens ! Works for me !

    Stickers ?

    I know that this is a bit of a cheeky one but has anybody got a Sticker kit that they could Scan and mail to me ? ( most of my stickers are removed ) I know that its a long shot but if anyone has some ? I have a mate whos got a vynal sticker printer/cutter. I just want the sizes and shapes really so that I can do some one off designs for the bike. Mines an 02 Pro but 03s and 04s would be OK Could share the results if anyones interested ?     This is mine. TXT 02 on the tank. Pro engine and frame but Rad plastics differ from others I've seen. Triangle air filter.

  21. I know all of us here can spot an internet scam a mile off ! But.... I thought I'd let you know that my mate had an attempted scam on the bike he is selling on TC It went along the lines of : 'Please will mail me pics of the bike and I will pay you the price you ask' 'Send your details of banking and I will pay money to bank with your address I can arrange pickup and shipping of bike' I know its obvious but the younger members on TC may not be wise to this kind of thing ! Also he had a bloke phone up 'about the bike' just asking for his address so that he can 'come and look at the TRAIL bike'. No questions about the bike at all ! Yeah right Where do you live so I can come round and nick the bike !!! No cash ? No Viewing ! Meet any people who are interested in your bike at least 2 miles from your home and after seeing the cash and sussing them out take them to see the bike via a long complicated route ! Dont show a bike on your own get a mate round ! Anyone genuine will understand ! Spokes

  23. The choke O ring sounds like a possibility ! The problems only started after the first time I stripped and cleaned the carb ! Off for a ride in a bit, so will check out the seal first and have a mess with the choke (i.e. push it firmly back down after starting ). Cheers
  24. Have stripped the carb and blown it all out with Comp. air. New air filter also fitted. Fitted new petals to the reed block as old ones were a bit rough at the ends. (this has made the bike feel really crisp and responsive !
  25. Take a pencil and paper with you when your next out on the bike start at 1 turn out and go up from there noting down how many turns the screw is out each time until it runs right. You'll notice when it is set correctly cos the bike will just feel bang on all of a sudden. Thats how it works for me ! My 200 pros was supposed to be 2.5 turns out but it runs better at 1.75 to 2 turns ! Anything above this and it just dunt run right.
