  1. yes im doin it with 3 of my mates. any of you guys done it before? weve never done it before, any tips on what to do when you get there?!

Yeh i fitted one to a 1998 montesa back in the day. it was quite good but the problem with scorpa's is that the front disk is so small there is little braking surface. would split caliper, give it all a good clean, wap a fresh set of seals in, then see if you can get a larger front disc, you'd be amazed at the difference it will make.
  3. I had an 04 300 and just got an 05 280. The 280 is so much nicer to ride in my opinion, smoother and im not as affraid to give it big licks on the throttle whereas the top end on the 300 is helish. Yeh the 300 is smooth but i think the 280 this year is smoother. i had a go on them both, Birkett also thought that the 280 is the bike this year, it carburates loads better than the 300 aswell which has got the old ducati ignition on!! had problems with that! Plus its silver. get a 280, in red its about as sexy as a trial bike can possibly be. I got gold rims on mine, looks proper bling

Doesn't sound like the CDI to me, quite common for the wires on the end of the HT lead to become burnt away and thus it only creates a weak spark, cut 5mm off the end and spread the wires out before you screw plug cap back on. Also if your petrol air mixture is incorrect i.e. not enough petrol, it will create starting problems. if when you start it it makes that out of petrol noise then this may be the case. wap the choke on and see if that helps because that'll give it less air (or is it more petrol? not sure)
  5. Maybe that factory suspension of yours cant cope with your lack of ability and you've bent it!!!

    04 Clutch Mod

    The 04's came with a different clutch basket and different clutch plates. The only way to improve your clutch is to buy the whole basket
  7. My m8 had one and it fit his pro in easily. I borrow my dads Escort van and i can get two bikes in standing up! Just strap the handlebars down to the wheel so the suspension is totally compressed.
  8. I know that in 2002 one of lampkins factory bikes was said to be worth 20k!!! Heard that Raga's Pro and lampkins new mont have titanium pistons and conrods so they rev up alot quiker and harder. Lampkins bikes dont have first gear and possibly last gear, and have titanium bolts wherever possible. Also Guess they'll be ported differently depending on what power characteristics the rider wants. Also heard that some riders have 2/3 differnt fly wheels for different conditions, suppose they'll be slightly heavier for wet and slippy conditions.

    Think you'd be taking a bit of a risk buying one of the first bikes as there is bound to be a few design faults that will need ironing out. better idea, why dont you get a pro!!!!!!
  10. Yeh i know, aint seen the picture yet cos i've being at uni all week. Coming home tonight so ill see it then. Dan texted us this morn cos neither of us had ever had our picture in TMX so i beat him to it!!!!! Dont worry Dan your day will come soooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Yeh dans do look good, pros look hard as **** with black rims but the gold ones on mine look trick!!!!! Mine are from candy wheels and he has made a awesome job, no spokes have come loose. He's a top guy!!! Guess you'll have seen the results Dan? we drew!!!!!! ahh. They split us into classes so we'll never know who actually won. Blowers... get yours done blue that would look awesome!!!

    04 Pro 300

    that is totally normal on pro's, i have had three so i should know. The pro will go round scotland with not to much bother if your kind to her. But one prob you might have is the center box as they are renowned for dropping to bits when they get hot and shirty advised last year tht everyone put a steel one on just in case. I had a 04 300 and mine went i was doing the french four day gutted!!!!
  13. how much ****** power do you want. i have an 05 280 which is softer than the 04 and it has enough power to propell me up anthin i dare do on hard course. As a good friend of mine told me you cant alter one thing without having to make adjustments to other things! (DJ) If your that desperate though the Khein carb would be the only mod which will give you significant benefit. You would have to make sure you got the right slider for it though!
  14. Well maybe you should try riding one then m8, I've riden pro's for the last two years now and the differnce is unbelievable. Yes the suspension was reliable but it lacked bounce and felt dead. As for it being an advertisement the fact is they do tests on every bike so isn't that fair!
