  1. These were from 'Off Road Only' they are direct replacements for the originals and cost in the region of
  2. Honda XL trail bike foot rests fit straight on, think they are about
  3. Interested to hear what you thought was wrong with the bike - was the rear shock worn out perhaps? After re-building my Gollner TLR the 3 other guys who have ridden it (modern bike riders & one P65/modern bike riders) all were very complimentary - without heavy handed persuasion I hasten to add! I know its not going to be competetive in a modern bike trial but then neither am I. Its going to be more competetive than my twinshock in the same trial - I hope ! but you have sown seeds of doubt in my mind!!! Maybe the shock was past its best, it didn't feel it but the two main things were 1; it feelt hard to steer, as though you had to force it to go where you wanted it to. 2; If you rode the same rock step or large tree root on the two bikes the golner transmited far more of the initial hit than my TLR also to lift the front up to a step was more effort and the rear end went down far more than the TLR, as i said maybe the shock was past its best, but the whole bike felt bigger and heavier. Must say though my TLR is a sweet one!
  4. Already replaced standerd footrests, ones from hondas trail bikes, go straight on, XL 250 i think. About
  5. Was it a 200 or 250? It was a 250 Who had the bike? One of our members, at the Earl Shilton Trials Club It was a 250 owned by one of the members at the Earl Shilton Trials Club.He is thinking of converting it back to a twin shock! after riding it i don't blame him!.
  6. Rode a Golner TLR today which had the footrests lowerd to almost level with the sump plate, did not really like the bike compared to mine but felt very nice in the footrest area, You were very much in the bike and not on top of it, hope you get the jist of what i mean!. Any way any feed back on this?
  7. Yes i remember you, hope to get an entry for 2005, see you there? Will fit some CG125 plates, tend to use 3rd and even 4th at times and when under load it slips badly. Have to adjust cable on clutch from cold to hot, is this the norm? The bike needs a bit of TLC now, might get it painted for the Manx.
  8. are you saying 'use cg125 plates' over genuine TLR one's?
  9. Read someware about alternative clutch plates to help stop the 'on/off' action? was Birket doing some special ones for the 200? or which are the best ones to use. Also is it best to go with mono grade (20 winter/30 summer) or 10/40, i feel that modern oils have more additives in, which contribute to clutch slip? any thoughts on this.
  10. Seems to be quite a lot of intrest in my TLR!(or is it a TLRTL?) Nice to think it was maybe used by Saunders or Mick Andrews, gives it some pedigrie! When i purchased the bike i wrote down the numbers (scratched in paint on the left hand engine case) but for the life of me cannot find it or remember them. A lot of discution on mods & engine tuning, well it took ages to get the jetting spot on & eventualy we stuck it on a dyno and that got it running lovely, it does run on a bit when it is hot but i presume they all do this? I can post the dyno reading if anyone is interested?. A couple of points on the bike which might identify it, the clutch has a nice machined extention on it which makes it super light, and the swinging arm was chrome plated when i bought it. Posted an engine picture, will get a better one very soon.
  11. The first 3 gear ratios are close, i have ridden the bike at a few ACU rounds and also the Manx and after a lot of trial and error settled on 9-39 as the best gears for my type of riding. As i said before it is very smooth with instant pick up, i will post some pictures of the engine when i have cleaned it after the boxing day trial!.
  12. I purchased this TLR some3 years ago from John Lee M/C Acording to John It had been stored for 12 years prior to him buying it. The general condition then was ok, the engine ran well, but the whole bike really needed stripping and brought back to as near original condition as possible. Some markings on the engine and wheels pointed to it possibly being used in the SSDT at some stage and also the engine has RTL250E005169 on it? is this normal? I rebuilt the bike 2 years ago to the standard you can see, and i then went to register it for the road and to cut a long story short discoverd it had been registerd by Honda Uk in 1986 with the reg number C613 UBY. I would be interested if anyone might know what happend between 1986 and 2001. Just to point out that it is very smooth no spitting or coughing that keeps getting mentioned on the forum. It has an external oil feed, as can be seen and a few people that have rode it always comment on how nice it is compared to other TLR,s.
