    Tlr Tanks

Anyone have a number for Tim Beaven? I was told at the Manx Classic this is the guy who makes the alloy tanks with fiber glass covers for the 200/250.
  3. Do you suggest removing the spring? ( i do have one fitted)
  4. Ok have got original Honda shoes/cable tried the mod with the paint hardener but still the front brake is c**p. The main problem is that when the lever is pulled and the drum arm reaches its max, ie when the shoes are on the drum, you can still squease the lever in loads more and the brake arm moves but even then i can just about push the bike forward. On my 200 Fantic when the brake arm reaches its max then it wont go much further giving good solid brakeing. The Tlr's just feel like a soggy sponge compared to this. Are they all the same or can they be made to work better than mine. (I know you can get the drum turned to fit the shoes, but it is the spongey feeling in the lever i want to eliminate, as i am sure this will help)
  5. Ok is there only one of you with a RTL out there? how come these topics get side tracked so easily!! come on boys let me know what gearing you are useing. Have established 41-9 is standard so over to you.
  6. After admiring Saunders RTL at hawkstone i noticed it was runing 38-9 gearing is this the norm? what do most RTL owners run? and what is standard gearing.

    Tlr 250

Replaced the bushes in the s/arm but there is still play, could the inner steel 'pivot collar' be worn. Any one had the same problem?
  8. Any hints about how to get rid of the spongey feeling when the leaver is pulled on? I have fitted new pads and cable (Honda parts) I Centralise the shoes prior to pinching up the axle etc, But you can still pull the brake arm further once the shoes have engaged on the drum. On my 200 fantic once it gets to a certain point then thats it, they wont lock up but are about 25% better than the Honda.
  9. Given up trying to ring Falcon engaged all the time. Have got new seals localy. Will try 5wt oil. Why do you have to add air? how do other shocks differ which dont have air/oil mix?
  10. Hi just stripped down my Falcons off a 200 Fantic. What grade of oil would you use and quantity. Also do you have to run them with air in? why not just oil. I am 75kg and use 40lb springs.
  11. spoke to Bill, said to check resistance first Should be between 580-600 ohms. I have got a multimeter but electrics are well beyond me! at the lowest setting the lcd read out is showing 421 then when i put it on the red LT wire and earth it shows 139? this does not seem right. The multimeter is set to ohms and the lowest setting is up to 2k. Any help appreciated!
  12. Is the only place to get hold of a LT coil for a 200 Bill Pye's?
  13. Hi i might have the chance of moving to Vancouver, what is the twin shock scene like out there? how close to Vancouver are trials held? All info appreciated. Thanks SHM
  14. Another shot if it helps

    Tlr Clutch

I too have done the CG 125 clutch mod/kit and it is miles better. I was advised to use a Castrol superbike oil, need to go to the garage to check which one, to help it run cooler, but i have gone back to useing morris's mono grade 30 which i use in the Fantic. You never get any clutch slip and at
  18. Yes TLR's have been a bit thin on the ground, here's a pic from about 2002 when i had just finished the 250. It has a RTL bottom end which ,i think makes it quite rare?. Its due for a re-furb again when funds allow. Sorry if the quality is a bit poor i had to scan them in.
  19. Thanks for that really helpfull & all the way from Oz! the shaft is fine its leaking oil so i presume its a seal inside? What pressure do the steel shocks use? any idea. Also how much/weight of oil to use?
  20. Are the Falcon's self service? the seals blow after about 12 months and it is getting dear to keep sending them back to chirpy Mr Falcon. I can get them re gassed localy but how do they come apart?
  21. I can supply you with the perforated tube and end cap from a WES 200 Fantic exhaust. They are used but will clean up and have plenty of life left. I broke the bracket off holding the end can to the frame so have orderd a new one.
  22. Do you have a contact number for Alan Whitton?
  23. Anyone have a Tel No for WES? Want to speak direct not through a dealer.
  24. Apart from the useual Falcon/Betor set up i want to get my 200 rear end working as best as possible. What are the shocks Alan Whitton is bringing in? How good are they/How much? Are these the same as on Mick Andrtews James?. Are progressive springs better? Etc, Etc. All thoughts welcome!
