    My 200

TY 175 gear leaver fits the 200 perfectly. Steve Goode has them. Being alloy if it takes a wack it wont damage the steel spline. Will try to post a picture.
  2. Taken from original 200 owners manual; PHBL 25 BS Main jet 92 Slow jet 45 Choke 60 Needle D33 at 3rd notch Throttle valve N 50 Atomiser AQ 268 Idle Adj Screw 2 & 3/4 turns out
  3. Get one here http://www.suprememotorcycles.co.uk/ + most cub spares.
  4. Hi Vinnie i have just fitted a new 622 on my 200cc cub, i have had it running faultlesly with a 110 main 25 pilot middle clip on needle, baisically as it came from Surry cycles, only change i made was to use a 2.5 slide. Also i checked and set the float hight(which was lower than recommended) Maybe because its new and not worn yet? but so far it's ran better than either the Dellorto or Villiers i have tried previously, contrary to other peoples experiance with the 622?
  5. The Fantic importer at the time was South Essex Leisure 01708 458158 i got my dating letter from here.
  6. After a year of trying to get my cub to run properly,199cc Dellorto 22mm, (its always felt flat at the bottom and never felt like it would rev out),but after trying different carbs playing with and checking the PVL system i finaly got hold of an 'R' cam to try. On stripping the right side casing down to replace the cam i discoverd the problem, the cam timing was out by 3 teeth! the cam gear was lined up with a scratch mark and not the punch mark. I would presume that in this setting the valves were getting a bit close to the piston and this would explain the poor running(black plug, having to run strange carb settings to get it to run ok'ish) i am an average mechanic and since the engine was built in 2002 by Serco never suspected that it could be the timeing or that it could be set up that far out. Anyway anyone else had a similar experiance? At least its sorted now, the bike has what feels like 50% more power, picks up and revs out even to where i can roll the throttle off on a climb in 2nd and it will pull cleanly again.
  7. Thats the point they are really good trials set in some of the uk's best spots. I think there was a 2 day pre65 trial in wales as well so maybe these trials had a bearing on entries.
  8. Just looking at the results for the Westmoland Trial and it seems a shame that it had so few riders. 18 pre 65 and 22 Twin Shocks( i had enterd but an injury prevented me from riding) i would have thought being in the area it was there would have been quite a large entry given that the north of england must have loads of pre 65 and T/s riders. What happens to the hoards that enter or get turned away from the scottish? why are they not riding/supporting these trials? Are they all turning out for the next trial run by Ilkley & District? I wonder(like others, i am sure) just where the pre 65 scene is heading? Although the Reliance trial had about 120 riders! Why is the Miller trials having such low entries? I have heard comments about the T/shocks and that sections are becoming harder because of them, i have ridden both t/s and pre65 classes and i dont think that is justified and without the t/shocks i dont think the series could be run, maybe it has become harder on the rigid route? those numbers are down but with nice little rigid bantams etc about then this class could be better supported. Just some thoughts whilst i have 10 mins to spare!
  9. The key should be proud of the shaft as this is how the flywheel is held in position. Are you sure the old one had snapped off or is there something else wrong?
  10. How much or what difference does running an r cam over a std cam give?
  11. Yes and when shown the 2 needles the 2 t one was shorter
  12. 2 rings = 4 stroke 1 = 2 stroke as confirmed today by Triumph specialist Supreme M/c
  13. Are leading axle forks allowed in scotland? The front page of T&MX (sorry MX News) from 9th May shows a pair being used.
  14. Alter the original, you can finish the end as you want but this works well. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/s...june2007003.jpg http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/s...june2007003.jpg
  15. Try Rex Caunt http://www.rexcauntracing.com/index.htm
  16. Anyone recomend a good quiet site near to kinlochleven?
  17. what tappet settings are mostly used on 200cc cub with std cam & 9:1 comp (does this alter settings?) Haynes says .010 on inlet & exhaust but i have been told .04 &.08 and also .06 & .08! any idea what yours are set at?
  18. I wasent asking 'which carb to use'! i allready run a dellorto but for the miller trials you have to run a british carb or go in the specials class? what about events like Red Marley and the PJ1 northern champ's can you run a dellorto?
  19. i am just about to order an Amal for my 199cc cub (Mk 1 22mm) but was wondering if there are many different set ups out there? i have searched but only came up with a couple of spec's. I am sure the 230/250's are not the same so just want the main, pilot etc please for the standard 199cc.
  20. How do you find either of the above on a twinshock or pre 65? what are the benifits of either?
  21. From what i understand some of the heater/radiator hoses can degrade quite quickly when contaminated with petrol and small bits can be drawn into the carb?
  22. I always use the method as seen on thorpys cub and i have used it for years on my Fantic . Run one peice from each vent so the tube sits just below float bowl and cut a small nick in one half of the tube in the middle on the bottom side to allow both to vent. Can post a picture if my description is vague!
