Muffin glad you got your bike sorted you said you fit the 315r clutch was it the master cylinder you fitted? if so does the clutch hose bolt right up or did you have to change it also thanks

hi beta boy that looks like the filter that came stock it really is just a screen kind of like a watercraft flame arrestor it will let dirt by that is why we looked for an alternative thanks

Alan I too have a sherco 50 that you made a rear brake pedal for.(excellent job by the way thank you!!) It had some foam cut into a small round circle and placed in there from the previous owner. I never could get the bike to run right or consistently. It actually ran like it was running lean when common sense would dictate with more air restriction it should run rich!! After a call to ryan young he said no one has been able to come up with a good fix and that my poor running problem was caused by foam air filter. He was 100% correct I removed foam and bike runs fine!!! My guess is lean condition was caused by lack of "signal strentgh" to pull adequate fuel through main jet. I was still not satisfied with air filtration so I went back to an old trick I use on all my other dirt bikes and that is a product called "filter skins" made by PC Racing http://www.pcracingusa.com/index.php these have worked great and I use them on all bikes to lessen air filter changes since they catch the bigger stuff. Just put a little air filter oil on them and voila!! I even clean them a few times before disposing of them Finally I also have a bete 50 with the same air filter as the sherco but with more room behind the carb so beta put a little airbox that attatches to the carb. It still only has the same mesh airfilter so I wasnt happy with that setup. As soon as we got the bike I used some of those little 1 inch round airfilters you were talking about and blocked off the open part of the airbox. Now bike breathes through those 1 inch filters. This didn't cause any performance problems on the beta. I did this mod in 5-04 so it was hard for me to believe foam in the aircleaner on the sherco would cause a problem but it did. 1.yes I ride it better much better 2.for me yes easier to control and things seem to happen slower 3.Too early too tell but I dont suspect any problems nor did I have many before 4.2004 raga replica 5.heavier than previous bike since prvious was lightest made so far weight hasnt been a problem 6.yes 7.no real answer here just depends on what you feel better with kind of like asking whats better bananas or pineapple read some of my other posts to see how I like it thanks

r2wtrials nice looking bike I like the combinations now spend some time on the stand it is on that takes away from the beauty of your bike

my 4rt idles runs fine on the sidestand if your bike shuts off on the side stand you should inspect your bank angle sensor(section 6-8) in the manual It should not shut off on the side stand unless your stand is really bent!!!! My guess is the bike shuts off when it is on its side because with fuel injection it would keep running unlike a carburated bike therefore I think this is an excellent feature

Hi Hillary Can you be more specific as too what you mean by the 315r master cyl making it work better my 4rt seems hard to slip the clutch as it tends to be grabby changing to silkolene trans oil has helped but not totally satisfied yet I have no problems with the engagement point since I modified the plunger pin day one thanks for your help

43 rear required a half link to fit got it from Jim Snell at rising sun imports If I remember right the extra master link he sent me did not fit the 4rt chain but I had another one a round that did good luck and have fun I like my bike more and more and am riding better and more controlled than ever 93 or 94 octane premium that I get here works fine even in the deep sand I heard no pinging(I expect electroniics keep that to a minimum

I like it best so far with all restrictors in except the one in the throttle body which it appears they remove for us bikes

Hi Gaff I have hebos on the way and have already installed 43t(up 2) sprocket on rear I like it much better so far my favorite bike ever and on the loop or trails is so easy and fun

Got my 4rt last week(Illinois) and had a chance to ride it saturday. the ground was frozen and temps around 28F sold a 04 Raga replica to get the 4rt 4rt feels heavier for sure- because it is! starts beautifully and runs the same I am an advanced level rider in our area with limited hopping ability(Very limited!!) things seem to happen slowly on this bike right away I felt in control ( I never gelled with my Raga so I sold it-Pretty sure it was just to radical for my ability) all the normal obstacles I tried I was able to due with ease even though I felt I was going to slow off cambers were much easier as traction for me was far better then my Raga and where my weight was wasnt as critical log crossings were easy suspension seems fine even though it is not broken in yet. engine is the key to this whole bike twist a little bit and go foreward and get traction my friend who also rode this bike was also able to conquer obstacles easier than with his bike much easier all in all I am very suprised at how well I like the bike(I was very skeptical that it would result in making things harder) complaints footpegs are an embarassment to an otherwise oustanding workmanship- the pegs are slippery and hold mud like an african elephant!! I sharpened them up but they still hold mud aftermarket pegs will sell well this year front brake doesnt seem to be near as strong as my Raga or other bikes(I will give it some more break in before I change it-it will stop but seems to take a lot more pressure) 1st gear speed is faster than I would like but I will ride more to see if it hinders me noisier than I would like Good points I take every new bike apart before I ride to grease and anti -seize all bearings and bolts (amazingly Montesa did this for me ---well done!!!!) starts so so easy throttle control is unmatched traction is so good that you need to try one to believe workmanship first rate after three plus hours I feel better in sections than I did on my raga As you can tell I am very happy overall and think that in this case the bike will make it easier for me to ride most sections It will not make me Dougie!! The bikes are a lot of money but after all that is why we work so we can enjoy life and its rewards- what a reward!! feel free to respond with comments or questions as it has been a pleasure lurking on this board while waiting for my bike to come in my friend calls the 4rt a "cheater bike" Thanks Tom Bledsoe
