  1. Regs & Entry forms are now available for the Dave Rowland Tropy Trial run by Manchester 17 MCC Ltd. Manchester 17 MCC Ltd - Website
  2. Being in the East Midlands/Derbyshire area you are lucky in so much as there are LOADS of clubs in your area, your have all the East Midlands Clubs and as you are you are also near the Cheshire & North Wales Centre Clubs, who have clubs that run trials around the Macclesfield, Winsford, Congleton & Buxton area. As previous posts mentioned you are probably best starting off with a "Dead Easy" type event just to get going again, no point tackling anything too daunting when you start out. Remember though, not all trials that advertise having an "easy" route are Easy Trials!! Any trial specifically aimed at newcomers, people returning to the sport, or those who are just after a good days sport without busting a blood-vessel would be ideal. Usually they will have some mention to "Dead Easy" "Wobblers" etc in the regs. Manchester17 are running a "Dead Easy" trial this Sunday at Victory Quarry near Buxton, so not too far away, and they can help you get your ACU forms sorted etc etc. Website Obviously this website & forum is a great place to find out information on forthcoming trials etc and more & more clubs have their own websites with trials calendars on etc.
  3. Manchester 17 MCC Ltd are holding the latest of their highly popular "Dead Easy" trials this weekend, Sunday 6th April. There will be the usual two-route main course, with the easier route being put on for Adult/Youth beginners & riders on twinshock/pre-65 bikes. The harder route is slightly more technical and suited to Novice/Clubman riders. As the club is actively trying to encourage younger riders we are also putting on a separate 2-route conducted trial. Consisting of 8 sections set over a small lap (so not too far for Mum & Dad to walk around) it is ideal for absolute beginner Youth C/D riders, those on small/medium wheel TY80/auto's etc (must be trials bikes though). The venue (courtesy of North Derbyshire Youth MCC) is Victory Quarry, Longridge Lane, Dove Holes near Buxton. Derbyshire. The venue will be clearly routed off the A6, approx 1 mile from Buxton. Gates open at 9.30 and the trial starts at 11.00 (but entries will close at 10.30am), and parking is limited so arrive early! We hope to have the hot-food catering wagon onsite, and if so, please support them by buying a sandwich!! The first 10 riders who provide an observer get a reduced price entry AND the observer will get a food voucher (if the catering truck is onsite)! Check out the website for more information Manchester17 MCC Ltd Manchester 17.

  11. Pierre yes looked to be a good trial from the happy, but tired faces I saw. I need to get out on the bike more before I start tackling the road trials again, quick tootle round the Dead Easy trial with the lad doesn't give the "bike fitness" you need!! Yes I opted to dirve too, saying that them questions we bad enough without a belly full of Robinsons best bitter!! bye for now
  12. I copied this information off a link ages ago, can't find it now, but it said: "I have ordered a couple of parts from Gas Gas to convert my sons GG50 to a full manual clutch. MIT 50032064 2mm Steel Clutch Disc MIT 50032052 1.5mm Steel Clutch Disc" don't know much more than that though!! Sure the guys at Gas Gas Uk will be able to help?

  15. Well me and the lad came for a walk around and to enter the "guess the number of patches on Eigers' trousers competition" and horrors of horrors, he wasn't there!! The embarrassment of having 140 riders stare at his fluorescent a&se as he rode every section obviously put him off!! Looked a good trial, wished I dusted off the old stead and rode now, but a MASSIVE entry anyway! Shows the Macc Lads are doing something right when their trials are so well supported. Looking forward to the December trial.
  16. The full entry list for Saturdays Northern Expert Trial is now available on their website. There is a massive entry of 136 riders competing.

  18. THIS WEEKENDS MANCHESTER 17 TRIALS EVENTS ARE CANCELLED. The organisers have taken the decision to cancel both the Dead Easy trial (22.09.07) and the Hipwell/Hartle Trophy Trial (23.09.07) due to the foot and mouth outbreaks and the overall need to confine the disease. The trials were to be in and around the Peak Forest area, and the organisers are not prepared to take any risks within a major farming community. The possibility of competitors carrying the disease on their vehicles is minimal, but possible. Please inform anyone that you know who were making plans to enter either of the trials. http://www.manchester17.org.uk
  19. Benj to clarify, Manchester 17 has TWO events running this weekend (22/23 Sept). There is a "Dead Easy" trial on the Saturday that starts at 4.00pm (and riders need to have signed-on by 3.30pm, mainly to prevent a delayed start). This event is ideal for riders who have just started, or who want a nice steady ride out. THEN on the Sunday there is the "Hipwell" Road Trial, starting at 10.00am). This is Cheshire Centre Championship round and thus is more difficult and designed for decent clubman level riders upwards. You also need to have a bike license for the road and be taxed/insured etc. If you need more advice on getting started, check out the Man17 website, and possibly try to get along to one of the Dead Easy events and they will assist you with all the info/forms you need. http://www.manchester17.org.uk/ Main Page http://www.manchester17.org.uk/Trials_Page...ing_Started.htm Getting Started
