  2. Pictures Morning chaps, I'm glad the general consensus was that people enjoyed it, we tried to mark the trial out allowing for the wet ground, but I must admit I was amazed at how badly it cut up. Then again I suppose with 86 riders there and the amount of water that dropped out of the sky, don't suppose I should have been too shocked!! I have attached a link to some pictures taken yesterday, Jude has done the results and I am busy working on a report, both of which should hopefully appear on the Macc Website (and TMX) soon! Karl
  3. Its an 11.00am start. Yes come along and have a mooch, as you say only 45 minutes away. Karl
  4. The turning will be clearly signed (with the usual orange arrows etc) from the A6, about 1 mile outside of Buxton. Turn off and follow the road until you get right to the brow of the hill you can see in the distance and then turn left (again signed), the trial is about 1/3 mile down there on the left. Karl
  5. Probably be replaced last minute by a 3 hour review of the International Pogo-stick championship!
  6. Manchester 17 MCC are running the first of their popular "Dead Easy" format trials at Victory Quarry on the outskirts of Buxton this Sunday 2nd April. The Dead Easy trials are predominately aimed at beginners and clubmen wishing to have an easy run out. However, due to a loss of venue (due to being water-logged) their usual harder "Masters" Trial will also take place at Victory Quarry with the addition of a hard route. Basically there will be 3 routes to choose from, with an additonal 50/50 option for the adventurous clubmen and Inter riders wishing to tackle some of the harder sections. The white route is for absolute beginners, yellow route for clubman wanting an easy day, the red & blue route will aimed at the Expert level riders and 50/50 a mixture of yellow and red/blue sections!

  8. You also tend to find that the "top lads" are the worst and most blatant about it! Certain observers will warn them, but a lot seem to be almost in awe of them and let it pass. I am sure, if we are honest, most have us have given the odd rock a bit of a kick "to see if its loose" and its moved out the way, however, some of them will stand there for a minute or two arranging the rock just how they want it.

  11. I feel I must have my say... firstly, the sections were spot on and the venue was great, and, as it was a Cheshire & North Wales centre round, it should be slightly harder than the norm, for those moaning there were 4 routes to choose from! The blokes running the trial were struggling with the volume of entries (as they did last year, almost a re-run this time round!) NOT helped by numerous riders turning up AFTER the start time of 11.00am, one guy I saw turned up at 11.40! Now I know some of them may have travelled a distance, and possibly got lost, BUT so did we, but we still ensured we were there for 9.30 (after a 2 hour + drive). I personally felt they should have started the trial at 11.00, whilst someone continued to sign the others on. This would have split the entry up, reducing the queues. One thought for next time, make the trial a 10.00/10.30 start, early yes, but with the short daylight hours this time of year, at least we would finish in the light. I also wish to thank the observers, who were stood out on a bl**dy freezing day for 5-6 hours, (i am also amazed at how many riders dont bother thanking them personally when doing their final lap, doesnt take much!) Anyway come one guys, help the organisers by turning up with plenty of time to spare, when you have 100+ entries, it will take time to sign them on, but when a lot of them turn up near to the close time it is a recipe for problems.
  12. The Manchester 17 Boxing Day trial is now at Roman Lakes Marple. NEAR STOCKPORT
  13. Andy, I was only there for a walk round watching with my kids and happened to have my camera in the car, so wasnt there as official photographer/press officer etc. I only got a few snaps before my batteries ran out, unfortunately, as there were some pretty awesome sections, and riders for that matter! Just thought I would share the link for the photos with the forum. Totally agree that these kids need more promoting etc but I am sure the organising club, Mansfield Maun, will issue results, more pics etc soon.
  14. a few pictures before my batteries ran out! pictures
  15. Nope, local lad Mike Roberts won on 25. Lee dropped 26 and Dan Farrer 27. Close!! Lee had a mare at Plantation with two consecutive 5's.

  17. anyone got a copy of the results from the MArket drayton trial held at Hawkstone park on May22? Still not received my results thru, pretty poor service, even have to supply own stamps!!
  18. Hi, you are coming to a great part of the country for trials clubs, just north and east of the Stoke area (within 10-20 miles), there are trials held by clubs such as, Staffordshire Moorlands, Manchester 17, Macclesfield TC, Cheadle Staffs, Mansfield Maun, Pathfinders & Derby, North Derbyshire Youth & BSSA. Not sure of clubs south of the Stoke area, dont tend to need to wander that far! If you get to a local newsagent and buy a copy of the Trials & Motocross News (TMX) they will have a list of what trials are on, on the dates you are in the UK. Hope you have a good time!
  19. where abouts in West Yorks are you?
  20. "Nik Wax" is good stuff, not as sticky as Dubbin, and doesnt seem to run off as easily. Get it from Millets etc.
