  1. Hello zisko62, Thanks for the picture of the exhaust not a lot of Seeley Owners will have seen one, that is the most original looking Seeley I have seen since 1981. Their are some very good examples of machines that have been minted, but I still love the way bike looked when it first rolled out of Colin Seeleys work shops.

    Seeley 200 Kick

Hello, I've got a little question about the Seeley's kick.. What kind of model did you have on your bike ? Here is mine, but i don't think it's the right one.. Thanks
  3. The Seeley exhaust is not stainless, just chrome plated, and rusted through after time, just put a magnet on it!
  4. Just wondered how many of the remaining Seeley's still have the original stainless RSC back boxes fitted. I had one from new and the rear box needed plating before it was two years old, paper thin! The odd ones that come up for sale all appear to have after market exhausts fitted.

    Honda Trials Forks

I have seen quite a few Seeley forks for sale as people have upgraded them and I would think that the hubs or complete wheels are not too hard to find, but TL250 brake plates don't become available that often, or do you already have one/ TLTEL
  6. Hello Andy I had one of these Hondas a few years ago I will try a look out some photos and get the good lady to post them. from memory it handle very well Im sure the steering head angle had been steepened and the swinging arm shortened. I do remember that the tank had been cut in half and a strip removed to narrow it down then welded and filled with copious amounts of body filler. The carb manifold was made from what looked like steel water pipe or conduit pipe as you could still see the thread on it, and brazed to achieve the correct kick out to clear the bottom of the tank as the motor had been lifted not sure by how much though, it also had a large rear sprocket as it was a little over geared but it was brilliant to ride across the open fell and I never struggled through any bogs The mudguards were the black plastic VF type and a little brittle If memory serves. I think my Jeffries went to that collector in France, hope this helps and if any Honda nuts read this Im building a 220 fraser and Im looking for the Seeley type stainless silencer if any one can let me have a contact number I would appreciate very much , regards John.
  7. The tlr header pipe has a much tighter bend than the Seeley.
  8. A friend of mine is looking for a new frot pipe for a seeley with XL 185 engine, which will be the right one Tlr or Tl or complete different ?
  9. Hello I have a Honda TL the motor is stamped TL125 E but i believe the engine is a 220 as its stamped that at the base of the cylinder. my question is what gearing should I use, the recommended TL 125 set up which I think is 11 front 58 rear or go for the tlr 200 set .(cant remember off hand that set up) I dont want to spend £60.00 on the wrong sprockets if some one has the ideal combination I think i will use the 428 chain. I dont want to start stripping the gear box to count teeth either. I also require a silencer and like the look of the seeley type are they still available the stainless ones that used to be on Ebay, A Sammy Miller type will take too much work to fit as the frame has very little room between shock and tyre Many Thanks John.
  10. My Seeley has a cam knock ( i think it's coming from that area), what is required to fix this? Any help would be great thanks.
  11. Probably the only one over there, may be reasonable money that side of the water. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260982460943?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_708wt_932
  12. Any suggestions out there as to where to get a set? Trying to get a set of XL185 plates here in Ireland is proving difficult!
  13. Hi RS 200 legs are 33mm, you could use reflex legs, but no real advantage in performance, only the shorter length, To use TLR 35mm ,you will need the yokes as well, which is an advantage,as it pulls the forks in, if you have a standard frame, you will need to change the steering pin in the yokes, some of the aftermarket frames had a larger headstock for TLR yokes. Note The above only applies to the Honda made RS200/250, NOT the Seeley 200
  14. Not sure of the data precisely, however after researching my Keihin Seeley carb (same model number)I am led to believe it might be from an earlier TL 125 ('D' or 'S'). Parts for these are readily available so you should be able to get the gasket you require. I bought two jets recently that certainly fit as I am having a difficult time with my Seeley as I try and make the bike run smoothly. It seems to be very lumpy and I've relaced a 1.10 main jet with a .92 and .38 pilot jet yet the bike is still very eratic. Any feedback on what jets are in yours would help.
  15. I am renovating a Seeley TL200E and need to source a carburetor float chamber gasket. The carb is a Keihin marked F4 04C. Anyone any experience or suggestions on this or even replacement carb please. Main Honda dealers claimed to have a fiche but the gasket set was wrong, as were the fork seals (now sorted).

    RS200T

Hi There, I have recently seen a Honda Rs200T for sale in Japan. It has a frame prefix RS200TF and an engine number RS200T. Is this correct for a Rs200T? I have a parts manual - and that does not show a frame number RS200TF - and has the engine number listed as RS200TE. Can anyone confirm what the prefixes should read? Is RS200TF right? and were all RS200 engines prefixed RS200TE?? I have also read a recent article that says that the TE stands for Trials England and implies it was only used for Seeley engines? Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks
  17. The Seeley tank cover will not fit a standard TL frame, The Jim Susans frame is narrower under the seat,I recently aquired a Susans frame+tank so was able to compare
  18. You will be incredibly lucky to find a tank/seat unit like that, a copy of the Honda works tank fitted to the 70's bikes. An option would be a Seeley tank/seat unit which is very close and could possibly be made to fit although I've no idea how they compare dimensionally with the TL. They consist of an aluminium tank which has the fibreglass tank/seat unit as a cover. The cover is available as a new reproduction item here in the UK but you would have to have a tank made, or adapt something else to fit underneath to hold the fuel. This is the website http://www.classictrial.co.uk/services.html scroll down the page and you will come to the Seeley tank
  19. Did you know that if you text "Seeley" into your mobile with predictive text on......it comes up as "Reflex"...how weird is that !!!!!

  21. Mine came with 11 F 48 R (520). Not trialled it yet, just ridden it around a car park but felt at home doing figure 8's; 1st gear low enough not to push the front out and could stay off the clutch. To confuse the issue Talon list 11 F 45 R as replacement sprockets, which looks a bit high geared to me? To summarise the options here and above: 11-45 = 4.09:1 11-48 = 4.36:1 10-44 = 4.40:1 12-55 = 4.58:1 (TL200 with RS engine as mentioned in thread; and presumably same primary drive and gearbox ratios as Seeley Honda RS engine?) 9-44 = 4.89:1
  22. Has anybody got an original RSC exhaust for a Seeley Honda 200 in an intact state which I could buy as a pattern? Or one that I could measure ? I've just bought a Seeley Honda but all the original exhaust mounting brackets on the frame have been removed and I need to reference the correct position of the brackets. The exhaust system now on the bike follows similar lines to the original RSC item but now attaches to a bracket that hangs from the rear suspension top mount, which isn't a bad solution really except I'm not sure how the middle box will behave if it is unsupported. I wouldn't be concerned but the middle box fouls the rear tyre on full compression and is also touching the base of the airbox. If I go to the trouble of modifying the existing exhaust to clear everything properly, or make a new one from scratch, I might as well replace the frame brackets at the same time and return the bike to standard. Many Thanks
  23. Yes, very different to the Seeley tank Craig. The Seeley Honda fuel tank is actually an "under-tank" with a glassfibre tank/seat unit shelter on top. The Seeley tank is also a very odd shape, not dis-similar to the RTL250S undertank. Seeley tanks are rare too, but I did hear someone was going to make a few at one time. Its like everything else, if you need something to finish a project and it is unavailable, you have to pay what the guy who has it asks as a one-off manufacture would most probably be a higher sum of money! However, if you want a complete Seeley Martin P*nnyc**k is selling his, I think he has it on here. Big John

  25. Help required, please. What spark plug do you recommend as the manual states NGK D5ES or D6ES which I can not find anywhere. Should I just use the DR version with the resistor in it. Or what's the view of this forum? Thanks
