Mota Rob Edwards

Looks like a Dalesman in the last group of photos, bottom right?

Big John

Very like it but I have a dim recollection that they (or the very similar Wassell) were sold under another name in the US. I may dig out an old mag to check the ads. See you at Callander?

Thanks Brian for that bit of MOTA history.

I even know 2 of the riders that are listed in the results.

Mr. DeBolt still rides.

And MOTA still makes tight, technical, difficult sections.

As a Michigander and active MOTA member, I'm just curious to know where or what city in MI the Rob Edwards/MOTA event took place. Brian, do you recall? I looked up some information and found it was hosted by club Mid-Michigan in 1972. Same year Mick Andrews held a training school in Flint, MI. My club is hosting a MOTA event in two weeks and thought it would be nice to copy this article and post at sign up.

Superb Brian......may I draw your attention to the article in the first pic..the start of column three...." Leavitt has been to Spain at Senor Bulto's expense and is really quite accomplished, if not nearly so articulate as Edwards (Leavitt shunned all conversation with this reporter)"....Not our Mich Lin surely :D

Actually it sounds just like him B):D

Don't thank me, all I did was scan and post. The article was in the March 1973 Dirt Rider magazine.

(First test on the amazing Honda 2 stroke Elsinore too)

I thought it was pretty good and ya'll would enjoy looking at it.

Yes Excellent stuff.

Do you have any more snipit's there Brian.
